Into the void....

So I have a finish.  It's the Void Shawl by Melanie Berg.  I used Woolfolk Far in (I think) color number 8.

It turned out smaller than the pattern said, but I'm not surprised.  I tend to be a tight knitter.  (Although sometimes I'm a loose knitter.  Very confusing!)

See the small amount of yarn sitting next to the shawl?  That's how much I had left of the last skein when I finished.  Whew!

It's getting cold, and I'm not ready for it.  Neither is Mia.  She tends to stay on the heating duct a lot these days.  She did deign to get into her winter bed finally.  After I put a plastic bag (sans the loopy handles, which were cut for safety) into her bed.  Today she hasn't been into it again.  Sigh.

This is a short post.  Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

My cats are the same! Once it turns cold, they are like completely different cats. Another nice knit.

Great shawl for around the shoulders on a cold morning. I'm wearing a shawl this morning over my jammies...it's nippy here in the Sunshine State.
Have a great weekend,
Robyn

Great shawl and a big sigh of relief I guess for having just enough yarn. Yes, it does seem that we have flipped into winter. I'm all for curling up under the covers til Spring myself!

Your knitting is so beautiful. You really cut it close on the yarn -- you go! My Timothy loves the heating registers; if the furnace is running and I don't see him, I know the first place to look is the register!

I really like the color of this shawl. Wow, you sure were lucky in your yarn estimate!!

Your shawl is lovely, Margaret! I love the pattern! I'm afraid I always order too much yarn because I don't want to risk not having enough. : ) I find that my cats like to rotate where they sleep - they all have several places for napping. And I'm with you and Mia - I'm not at all ready for this cold weather!

Cats are fickle! When we had one, he loved sitting in a seagrass bowl we had that has a woven pedestal. He loved that thing!

We haven't had our heat on yet this year. It's cool but not cold enough for the heat in my opinion. My husband may disagree!

Love it when us knitters win at yarn chicken!

I wish I could be Mia and lay on the heating duct!! I worked all weekend and our heat wasn't right and I'm frozen--not sure if I'll thaw by morning--ha ha!!

Love your shawl, Margaret--you are knitting so many breathtaking things this year! Will you go back to stitching again or has knitting taken over?

Beautiful shawl and a great pic of Mia.
I am not ready for winter, either, and we got a couple inches of that nasty white stuff :(
Merry, merry,
Lauren

A wonderful shawl that you finished (lucky you that the yarn was just enough). It should keep you warm during the winter.
Winter hasn't started here and the snow we had in November is long gone. I enjoy every day without snow ...

Beautiful shawl Margaret - love the pattern and the color you chose. Silly Mia. Tyg is much more of an inside cat these cold, cold days. And he is really bulking up on his food intake!!

Your knitting is just as beautiful as your stitching.
Mia has the right idea for a cold winter nap.
