I made some progress on A Parrot this week. That red flower seemed to take forever.
I forgot once again to put in a quarter for size. Next time maybe. It's on 50/62ct fabric.
And here's my fussy cut star for the week, using an Andover by Jo Morton fabric.
We had an unexpected visitor this weekend.
My girl needed a little loving from her parents this weekend so she turned up and it was a very nice surprise. I wheedled her into taking my red Bugga lightweight pullover sweater that I knitted. It fits her too! (Good thing loose fit is in.)
We ended up going out to see The Wind Rises by Hayao Miyazaki (of My Neighbor Totoro fame).
I stole the selfie the girl child took of us at the theater. So cute, my girl.
Then we went for dinner (I had udon noodles with veggies).
And we had yummy ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery for dessert. And ogled the other offerings on display.
It was a fun day.
For once, the big snow storm we were expecting didn't happen. We didn't get one flake from the storm. So bizarre! The girl child's area got more though. I'm hoping she will get to work safely this morning.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week. (Here's a sneaky pic of Mia as she was 5 minutes ago.)

Finished! And sick of snow
I finished my sweater!
I did make some modifications to the sweater. I knit it in a larger size and eliminated the body shaping, and I had to shorten the sleeves and make the decreases in the sleeves more quickly than written in the pattern since my sweater was knit to fit so loosely. I also made the ribbing on the body and sleeves shorter than written in the pattern. I love my new sweater!
It's nice and warm!
I made my usual Fussy Cut Friday star, this time using some fabric from Judie Rothermel's Peace and Unity collection.
And here are all my stars (seven!) so far.
A while back, my sweet friend Laurie of the My Little Corner of Iowa blog sent me a lovely package of wovens and plaids she didn't want. Can you believe these lovely piles?
I put my favorite at the very top. lol! Thanks again, Laurie! I hope I do justice to these fabrics!
We got quite the snow storm Thursday into Friday, along with so many others. This is what we faced for the cleanup.
Thank goodness we have a snow blower! (And yes, those porch walls are usually much more visible than in this picture.)
Here is Mia playing with her favorite ball since kittenhood.
And here she is looming over me on the shelf above the bed.
Such a funny girl!
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week! I'm looking forward to more Olympics viewing!

knit and star
My sweater has a body. And the start of a sleeve.
I'm using double pointed needles which aren't my favorite.
My Fussy Cut Friday star is a bit random this time. 3 different motifs involved.
Ok, maybe 4 different motifs.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week. I also hope the winter weather ends soon. Sigh......

Kniting knitting knitting
This will be a boring post. I've been doing nothing but knitting lately. Remember this?
Well that has turned into this.
Can you tell what it is? It's a top down turtleneck sweater, turtleneck up at the top, sleeves on either side waiting to be knitted, body in progress. It's the Lightweight Pullover sweater by Knitbot. I'm knitting it in Verdant Gryphon Bugga in American Rubyspot.
I did do another Fussy Cut Friday star too.
This time I used a fabric from the Michael Miller blue and white collection.
Here are a couple of pictures of Mia to liven things up.

Knitting and a gift
Having 3 different crafts that I want to do makes for difficult choices in which one I pick up. With the cold weather, I seem to be tending toward knitting at the moment. I cast on the Lightweight Pullover by Knitbot (Hannah Fettig) this week, using the Verdant Gryphon's Bugga yarn in American Rubyspot. I'm almost ready to start the raglan increases!
I also worked some more on the Color Play Mohair Wrap.
My problem with this project is I dislike working with mohair. lol! It's like working with an extra hairy Mia, mohair all over the place. Bleagh!
I also kept up with the Fussy Cut Fridays by making another star.
I had to cake up my Bugga yarn before I started the Lightweight Pullover, so I pulled out my trusty yarn swift and ball winder. The father type was very interested in the process and asked if he could do the winding. He had a great time!
(Please ignore the mess -- we hadn't picked up from the boy child's packing at the time.)
I received a lovely consolation prize from KimM's giveaway on Wisdom with Needle and Thread. She sent me these lovely hand stitched gift tags!
They're all so lovely and tiny and delicate! I love them, Kim! Thank you so much!
Like so much of the country, we've been experiencing too too cold temps, and snow too. Mia has not liked it anymore than I have. She's been finding ways to keep warm though.
(Yes, she gets in there by herself.)
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi! I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
(Hooray for Stan!)
