So at last I can show off the secret knitting I was doing. The design is called Deliciosa, and it was designed by Nora Gaughan, one of the queens of cable.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KeqOL-IS2Ns/X30Imnr2uuI/AAAAAAAAL6U/rvVqzzXG3kwAIYZyNwL02ZOS7kmJCSjjQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1125/7B319BCD-F27D-4018-BCF3-F4A294CB46A7_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="911" data-original-width="1125" height="518" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KeqOL-IS2Ns/X30Imnr2uuI/AAAAAAAAL6U/rvVqzzXG3kwAIYZyNwL02ZOS7kmJCSjjQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h518/7B319BCD-F27D-4018-BCF3-F4A294CB46A7_1_201_a.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yQ-kET0XxgE/X30ItTRfXyI/AAAAAAAAL6Y/pI90iC99VfsBOtLydJGfWHdr1ghHSoYswCLcBGAsYHQ/s1681/E2B10900-EF5F-4353-9833-048CB77BB51A_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1681" data-original-width="1125" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yQ-kET0XxgE/X30ItTRfXyI/AAAAAAAAL6Y/pI90iC99VfsBOtLydJGfWHdr1ghHSoYswCLcBGAsYHQ/w428-h640/E2B10900-EF5F-4353-9833-048CB77BB51A_1_201_a.jpeg" width="428" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y1uc3_U2CXs/X30IyXxO2cI/AAAAAAAAL6c/A25egpM5gsMcTB0JdmlGyL4kFYvyigs_wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1685/7C539F0D-5B44-4A28-B34C-8736875E656E_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1685" data-original-width="1118" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y1uc3_U2CXs/X30IyXxO2cI/AAAAAAAAL6c/A25egpM5gsMcTB0JdmlGyL4kFYvyigs_wCLcBGAsYHQ/w424-h640/7C539F0D-5B44-4A28-B34C-8736875E656E_1_201_a.jpeg" width="424" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BolCiP823tw/X30I2fNQSfI/AAAAAAAAL6k/2iUFN89VcC8Mrtj1GWIZt8GanpNIdzHXACLcBGAsYHQ/s1527/84D5E85C-C6BE-4712-9B66-AEEC805AF67E_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1527" data-original-width="1125" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BolCiP823tw/X30I2fNQSfI/AAAAAAAAL6k/2iUFN89VcC8Mrtj1GWIZt8GanpNIdzHXACLcBGAsYHQ/w472-h640/84D5E85C-C6BE-4712-9B66-AEEC805AF67E_1_201_a.jpeg" width="472" /></a></div><br /><p>It was such a pleasure to knit! I used Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in the Button Jar colorway (which was also used for the model pictures at BT). I love it! Thanks, Brooklyn Tweed, for choosing me to be one of your preview knitters!</p><p>I also finished another sweater while I was waiting to be able to show off my lovely Deliciosa. It's the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/felix-cardigan">Felix Cardigan by Amy Christoffers (Savory Knitting)</a>. I knitted it with two strands of <a href="https://honer-och-eir.myshopify.com/collections">Nutiden by Honer Och Eir</a> and one strand of <a href="https://knittingforolive.com/collections/knitting-for-olive-soft-silk-mohair">Knitting for Olive Silk Mohair</a>. Again, I'm loving my new cardigan! Still have to block it and find buttons for it, but it's nice and comfy and warm.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Rf4OvkR0yU/X30KofBXE9I/AAAAAAAAL64/zAAV2uGzwVYlpu_JSiNhuw6jV0WEfPqrQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/9123FFEA-CDC1-4C35-9466-C163EEB7B4F1_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1866" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4Rf4OvkR0yU/X30KofBXE9I/AAAAAAAAL64/zAAV2uGzwVYlpu_JSiNhuw6jV0WEfPqrQCLcBGAsYHQ/w584-h640/9123FFEA-CDC1-4C35-9466-C163EEB7B4F1_1_201_a.jpeg" width="584" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div>I've been busy taking virtual online classes with knitting teachers whose classes I've always wanted to take. It's been a while since I've posted, hasn't it? I seem to have slowed down on social media in general this summer and am way behind on blog reading and commenting and posting and etc. Sorry! </p><p><br /></p><p>I do have something to tease in knitting, and a couple of pieces to show off in stitching. First the knitting. I did some preview knitting for <a href="https://brooklyntweed.com/" target="_blank">Brooklyn Tweed</a>!!! For stitchers, this is like doing model stitching for Hands Across the Sea Samplers or Scarlett House, except you get to keep your sampler from the beginning. lol! Very exciting, in other words. So for now I can only show sneak peeks of my knitting. (Yes, it's already finished. No, you can't see it yet.). Here are a couple of peeks. I used Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in the color Button Jar. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wjDg5go_34I/X2zFda1JRMI/AAAAAAAAL3w/A41WrhcI830be3M7W7qo3EZTjUEBB4ScQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/80B8D4E7-776C-409B-831F-64864B8C11C6.heic" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wjDg5go_34I/X2zFda1JRMI/AAAAAAAAL3w/A41WrhcI830be3M7W7qo3EZTjUEBB4ScQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/80B8D4E7-776C-409B-831F-64864B8C11C6.heic" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5eW_rEDTkQ/X2zFmRaafEI/AAAAAAAAL30/gbyTWc56gUc2JkRIvIsgSr-98U4n5wjHACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/A8A93AD2-5BF6-4B25-87A1-C840B77B8E85_1_201_a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5eW_rEDTkQ/X2zFmRaafEI/AAAAAAAAL30/gbyTWc56gUc2JkRIvIsgSr-98U4n5wjHACLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/A8A93AD2-5BF6-4B25-87A1-C840B77B8E85_1_201_a.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>I can't wait to show off my sweater! <br />
First, hot off the needles, is my BR's Moth by Kathy Barrick. I used the called for fabric and NPI silks. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0hfVMQn6iS0/Xv4-pAGlblI/AAAAAAAAL04/rhWDRYowZ-wEN04WzJqfAo_KdaYIYEa0wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_0096.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1356" data-original-width="1536" height="564" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0hfVMQn6iS0/Xv4-pAGlblI/AAAAAAAAL04/rhWDRYowZ-wEN04WzJqfAo_KdaYIYEa0wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_0096.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And here is my stitching finish -- Ghost Horses by Boyland Knitworks. I used Spincycle yarns in Rusted Rainbow and Retrosaria Rosa Pomar Pegulhar Yarn in color 1.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-86gAGHj72YU/Xv4_DJ8wFRI/AAAAAAAAL1A/IdqfLnXo_2Q80EwDHZQE8VtxV7VYlxaawCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/fullsizeoutput_35bc.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1337" data-original-width="1600" height="534" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-86gAGHj72YU/Xv4_DJ8wFRI/AAAAAAAAL1A/IdqfLnXo_2Q80EwDHZQE8VtxV7VYlxaawCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/fullsizeoutput_35bc.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did lots of tidying and cleaning up in June, and for good reason. We have a full house again, at least for now! Both kid-lings are home! Here they are cooking together. (Of course, the father type and I had the same reaction -- we can't leave them alone to cook in the kitchen! lolol!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z93g6HusVvs/Xv4_qv314ZI/AAAAAAAAL1M/hT98cP6piMsLYWBLIewsljmMSGij7uxTwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_0090.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z93g6HusVvs/Xv4_qv314ZI/AAAAAAAAL1M/hT98cP6piMsLYWBLIewsljmMSGij7uxTwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_0090.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's so nice to have them both home! Even Mia seems to approve. Her new favorite place is definitely the boy child's bedroom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XYIqCMHkDms/Xv5AY_dFZpI/AAAAAAAAL1U/MfqkI1fVHUkVdKcqigz8ekzrc00V-ti6wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_0063.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XYIqCMHkDms/Xv5AY_dFZpI/AAAAAAAAL1U/MfqkI1fVHUkVdKcqigz8ekzrc00V-ti6wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_0063.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I hope everyone is staying safe during these times. Happy 4th to everyone who celebrates it!Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-59412507442777448782020-05-31T14:46:00.000-07:002020-06-06T04:19:12.780-07:00A knitting finish and some stitching too Just a quick post under the wire for the month of May to show a knitting finish. It's the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ankers-summer-shirt">Anker's Summer Shirt by Petite Knit.</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got the yarn from my LYS, Pick Up Every Stitch, and also took an online class they ran on tightening your rib, which was very helpful. The yarn is Sandnes Garn Line, a cotton/linen/viscose blend.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a picture of what stitching I managed. It's the EF Sampler 1864 -- an old UFO. I love this sampler (it's from an old SANQ magazine and it's by Needlework Press). I put my knitting where the pictorial stuff will go. ETA: Thanks to Sue for forcing my hand -- I looked it up after her comment, and yes it is from the summer 2011 issue for those who are wondering. Thanks, Sue!</div>

<br />
The big news at home is that the boy child is now back at home from Buffalo. It's so nice to have him home again!<br />
<br />
Mia is enjoying having her sleeping partner home again. She had to show her annoyance at having been abandoned, but picked up sleeping with DS right away. She's spent most of her time in his room as well! We've all missed him.<br />
<br />

<br />
The girl child is still in NYC. She's been safe and sound so far, knock on wood. We miss seeing her, but she doesn't want to chance coming home. :(<br />
<br />
I hope everyone is staying safe.Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-16299615830633792042020-05-09T14:03:00.002-07:002020-05-09T14:03:56.587-07:00Another stitching finish??!!!!Just a fly by post to show off my just finished Ann Roberts, by Hands Across the Sea Samplers. This is Frances Grassby 1845 by Hands Across the Sea Samplers. She is worked on 36ct WDW Parchment using the called for AVAS threads. And I love her.<br />

But here I am, barely having remembered that tomorrow starts a new month. Whew!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So here is my progress on my Marie Wallin Fair Isle Club 5 blanket. This is up through part 4. I dearly love how it's looking, and how beautiful and colorful it is. And yay for knitting color work flat, and for what an eye Marie Wallin has -- what a talent! I can't imagine being able to put colors together like she does. Sadly, the picture doesn't convey the colors well.<br />
<br />
Having just popped on here quickly to post my progress (each part is released at a certain time, thus my being held to a schedule), I will quickly pop off again. Happy Leap Day to everyone!<br />

I wanted to be able to show off my progress on my Marie Wallin Fair Isle Club 5 blanket. I'm loving this project so much!<br />
<br />

<br />
Isn't it gorgeous? And I'm very happy with how knitting the color work flat is working for me. Yay!<br />
<br />
I don't think I ever posted a picture of the hat I gave to DH for Christmas. Well, here it is on DH's head. I took this picture when we were shoveling the driveway. Knock on wood, we haven't had to do that often this season!<br />
<br />

<br />
This is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mill-hill-toque">Mill Hill Toque</a> by Andrea Rangel in Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. (Isn't he a cute husband?)<br />
<br />
We had a bit of unwanted excitement one day when it was very windy and blustery out. The power went out a bit after 4pm one day. With our record in this neighborhood of not getting our power back for over a week at a time, I was not a happy camper. But luckily, we were only out of power for something over 4 1/2 hours. Our across the street neighbors were not so lucky -- they were out of power for more like 11 hours. The culprit? A huge branch that split off from the main trunk of an evergreen in our neighbor's yard. DH grabbed a picture of it before it was carted away by the town the next day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Czj5TjEH23o/XjRsRxl3NaI/AAAAAAAALuo/s_VbWctjCskA1Y3QlGHDO40ILit8UPjWwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Czj5TjEH23o/XjRsRxl3NaI/AAAAAAAALuo/s_VbWctjCskA1Y3QlGHDO40ILit8UPjWwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1535.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We were actually blocked in on one end of the street by this tree trunk, and by a downed power line on the other end of the street after the power went out. But again, luckily, that situation was taken care of within those 4 hours. </div>
<br />
<br />
We have always known that Mia is fond of coffee -- she has never actually had coffee, but she loves to attack mugs that once had coffee in them, and once she attacked a Keurig cup. lol! But she never really seemed all that thrilled by catnip. She would be jazzed about a catnip toy for a little bit, but not as much as a good empty cup that smelled like coffee. Well, that seems to have changed! I bought her a catnip snake, and she absolutely loves it. She wanted it even before I got it out of the packaging it arrived in!<br />

<br />
The toy has very very strong catnip in it, so that might be the secret! I'm happy she's so enamored. lol!Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-17731073158188373002019-12-31T11:46:00.002-08:002019-12-31T11:50:06.230-08:00End of another year....I can't believe it's the end of another year! This keeps happening, doesn't it? Christmas has come and gone, and with it a couple more finishes -- for one of which no picture exists at the moment. But anyway, I will show my first, big project. It's this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VWgkPJP1_cE/XguhUhQ9yKI/AAAAAAAALrs/u-OiIZtMQpksd0nhn2IOQyUzPjhnvqKCACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/fullsizeoutput_353c.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VWgkPJP1_cE/XguhUhQ9yKI/AAAAAAAALrs/u-OiIZtMQpksd0nhn2IOQyUzPjhnvqKCACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/fullsizeoutput_353c.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rs7UAP_9LPE/XguhYkRVFzI/AAAAAAAALrw/WJJg8vigAN48vAXPZ9dyjUbTRUKuboMVQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/fullsizeoutput_353e.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rs7UAP_9LPE/XguhYkRVFzI/AAAAAAAALrw/WJJg8vigAN48vAXPZ9dyjUbTRUKuboMVQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/fullsizeoutput_353e.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9gDcOiajiIY/XguhgMdApxI/AAAAAAAALr0/pc4NStqX3dc3nxwTyOPp-7Q2c5DDS6AzACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1502.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9gDcOiajiIY/XguhgMdApxI/AAAAAAAALr0/pc4NStqX3dc3nxwTyOPp-7Q2c5DDS6AzACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1502.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
It's <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fairisle-club-5---moroccan-tile-throw">Marie Wallin's Fair Isle Club 5 blanket, the Moroccan Tiles Throw.</a> I'm using the kit for the throw, and I do love the colors. For the first time, I'm knitting color work flat! I followed Marie Wallin's advice and am working the purl side using her simpler drop and pick up method, as opposed to trying to do it two handed as I usually do color work. I found in the past that if I try to do two handed color work on the purl side, for some reason my tension is ridiculously loose and just doesn't work out. So Marie Wallin's method it is! I'm enjoying the knit, although I have to be aware of my tension and keep on the alert.<br />
<br />
Next, my finished hat -- at least one of them. I finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mill-hill-toque">Mill Hill Toque</a> by the same designer, but have not taken a pic on the owner's head yet (DH's). But here is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/botanical-beach">Botanical Beach hat</a>, on DH's head even though it now resides on DS's head and in DS's home.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_MeOZp7PRz0/Xgui4PyHwqI/AAAAAAAALsI/e35SNBsx5msSecEKiaNmQuOrOdLcmbcAgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1491.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_MeOZp7PRz0/Xgui4PyHwqI/AAAAAAAALsI/e35SNBsx5msSecEKiaNmQuOrOdLcmbcAgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1491.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I managed not to get a picture of the recipient in the hat before he left. Sigh.<br />
<br />
I also knitted the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/beanie-24">Nice and Knit Beanie</a>, using a skein of their yarn. I enjoyed the mindless knit very much.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gOy0MB5xVcc/XgujUkhcv2I/AAAAAAAALsQ/1ni2XscgJ2ECKqOymDgNmfRZaV7-vauYACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1503.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gOy0MB5xVcc/XgujUkhcv2I/AAAAAAAALsQ/1ni2XscgJ2ECKqOymDgNmfRZaV7-vauYACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1503.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I need to find a nice, fluffy pompom for it, or make one -- if I can find my pompom maker.<br />
<br />
Christmas was very nice, if way too short. Mia, of course, disapproved, taking up her usual spot on the back of the rocking chair.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6djgX2RR_FM/Xguj2Bb8wwI/AAAAAAAALsY/xW9gCka3b_IlpUKG6eq836Ld4VWpcZdNACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1513.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6djgX2RR_FM/Xguj2Bb8wwI/AAAAAAAALsY/xW9gCka3b_IlpUKG6eq836Ld4VWpcZdNACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1513.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
But we opened presents around her, and we also managed to make our annual dumplings the day before.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lrXwSG2TkNs/XgukQqsLFkI/AAAAAAAALsk/DNacSi6UosEQs3HX_IOmHmiQkY-m03CzgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1508.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lrXwSG2TkNs/XgukQqsLFkI/AAAAAAAALsk/DNacSi6UosEQs3HX_IOmHmiQkY-m03CzgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1508.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />

<br />
I think DS has officially taken over the kneading of the dough for the skins, and the rolling out of the skins as well. He loves doing it, and I love the luxury of not doing it. lol!<br />
<br />
The fun part is that DD has again taken up knitting! She finished a bulky hat from a kit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nPcq7i5HTI8/XgumC89qHWI/AAAAAAAALtA/MtIGafA1tbo6syIOs6iw_P2J_l-TYBWRgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1516.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nPcq7i5HTI8/XgumC89qHWI/AAAAAAAALtA/MtIGafA1tbo6syIOs6iw_P2J_l-TYBWRgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1516.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
And over Thanksgiving, she picked up the scarf that she had started a few Christmases ago. I'm happy she is trying knitting again. <br />
<br />
And now it's New Year's Eve, which is hard to believe. Here's to a very happy, very healthy, and very prosperous New Year for us all. Thanks to everyone who still follows my blog. :DMargarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-51360877191997880742019-11-26T04:56:00.002-08:002019-11-26T12:35:18.409-08:00A finish that could be a non-finishJust popping in before the excitement of Thanksgiving for my finish, which might actually be a disaster. It's the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/greis">Greis Dress by Kate Davies</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FGD2j5zZzAQ/Xd0fOQZSAgI/AAAAAAAALqM/jpe9bRJmbWk5Hs6Y-J7aLfvbl95hbJMmgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1466.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FGD2j5zZzAQ/Xd0fOQZSAgI/AAAAAAAALqM/jpe9bRJmbWk5Hs6Y-J7aLfvbl95hbJMmgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1466.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dOjy2J1UxHc/Xd0fTqipHxI/AAAAAAAALqQ/7mf9M8SuXjISVK-yNVCCeDf5Pty4AQLRQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1465.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dOjy2J1UxHc/Xd0fTqipHxI/AAAAAAAALqQ/7mf9M8SuXjISVK-yNVCCeDf5Pty4AQLRQCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1465.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a beautiful design. But user error has interfered with this finish. I believe the yoke is just too big for the dress. No matter whether or not I swatch before starting a knit, my gauge on the actual garment is never the same. The gauge on the yoke is, I think, just too big. Once the garment is dry (it's currently drying from the blocking), I will see how it fits. But I have a feeling this one will either be filed away in the closet of shame, or perhaps eventually I will have to reknit the yoke. Not sure I'm up for that anytime soon.<br />
<br />
ETA: Well, I tried it on, still a bit damp. It's big, but it's not an unmitigated disaster. I think it will do. I hope.<br />

And now a picture to show you the realness behind the diva Mia. lol! Mia is one of those cats who has a human, and loves that human, and hisses at the rest of the world. Yes, she's that cat. I'm her human. I'm the one she looks to for food, comfort, cuddles, etc. DH has always been hissed at, and both kids are now in the hissed at category as well (they left her behind, so they are in her bad books). DH managed to get a picture of her hissing at him the other day. Just thought I'd show it off. Mia looks sweet, but she's a terror in reality. lol! Oh, and if you're a stranger to Mia? Watch out!<br />
<br />
Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US who celebrate.Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-45720676615151344152019-10-30T07:59:00.001-07:002019-10-30T07:59:39.107-07:00October postOnce again it's time for me to say -- where did the month go? For that matter, where did the year go? Really? Almost time for T and C? Ah well. Here's what I have to show for the month.<br />
<br />
I finished two pairs of socks this month -- I was participating in the Falling Leaves Sock KAL hosted by Earthtones Girl Denise of the Earthtones Girl Podcast. The first pair is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hermiones-everyday-socks">Hermione's Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder.</a> And yes, in case you were wondering, the Hermione referenced is from Harry Potter. :D I used Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co Natural Sock in the All Treats No Tricks color way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aWcVhCgSc18/Xbmgo7Izk3I/AAAAAAAALoE/VCFSmyUZDzs5EU_GUP8du1s6AV9qFwURgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1401.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aWcVhCgSc18/Xbmgo7Izk3I/AAAAAAAALoE/VCFSmyUZDzs5EU_GUP8du1s6AV9qFwURgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1401.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/goats-eye-socks">Goat's Eye Socks by Tracy Millar</a> of the Grocery Girls Podcast. I used Mondim Yarn, which I love. Underneath my gold Goat's Eye socks, you can see all the socks I've knitted so far in my knitting life. It seems like when I travel is when I get the sock knitting yen.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0paeSV3x9pc/XbmgtKf8iPI/AAAAAAAALoI/-lMSDfvqgaAcZ33R0VL0HLIeZQHRK0TcgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1408.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0paeSV3x9pc/XbmgtKf8iPI/AAAAAAAALoI/-lMSDfvqgaAcZ33R0VL0HLIeZQHRK0TcgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1408.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After the sock knitting, I was finally ready to swatch for another color work project. And I cast on for the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/greis">Greis Dress by Kate Davies</a>. I'm using Kate's Millarochy Tweed in the colors called for. At the bottom is corrugated rib. It's not my favorite thing to knit, but I do love how it looks. Sort of like how I feel about over one cross stitch. lol!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AEItM-N95BY/Xbmgxhf6uFI/AAAAAAAALoM/pYxx6CD7tgIiFrUDplt_-zsaPNa9Yro0QCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1416.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AEItM-N95BY/Xbmgxhf6uFI/AAAAAAAALoM/pYxx6CD7tgIiFrUDplt_-zsaPNa9Yro0QCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1416.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Du68Uz529Rs/Xbmg0ktuZqI/AAAAAAAALoQ/eQBlWhJmaXAFs1zn9FgHG-TKxhxINY6JwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Du68Uz529Rs/Xbmg0ktuZqI/AAAAAAAALoQ/eQBlWhJmaXAFs1zn9FgHG-TKxhxINY6JwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1411.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's going to take forever to get to the color work yoke at the top. Sigh.</div>
<br />
In my last post, I didn't mention that the father type and I were staying for the week in NYC (the end of September and the beginning of October). We had a grand time. Probably one of the high lights was seeing Hamilton on Broadway. What a show!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6sQJNYuXLdI/XbmiT9lhbfI/AAAAAAAALog/FdpfpYALQe8d2IMeWA706G0g5nPxdngIACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1382.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6sQJNYuXLdI/XbmiT9lhbfI/AAAAAAAALog/FdpfpYALQe8d2IMeWA706G0g5nPxdngIACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1382.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
Here are a few other pictures. (The bookstore is the new McNally Jackson, down in the Seaport District. What a gorgeous store!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Needless to say, Mia was not happy until we were home again. Then we got our usual scolding. And then she stuck to me like velcro for a few days.<br />
<br />

<br />
(Anyone else impatient for the final book in the Book of Dust trilogy?)<br />
<br />
Hard to believe that the next time I post will be after that T word happens!<br />

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-loTkcP-MvDA/XZIos9KOvFI/AAAAAAAALmI/sam7rxnriJsQ0hcL6gPmlQUM99hfB41QgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1357.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-loTkcP-MvDA/XZIos9KOvFI/AAAAAAAALmI/sam7rxnriJsQ0hcL6gPmlQUM99hfB41QgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1357.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
It's finished! It's the<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/snowdrift-13"> Snowdrift Shawl </a>by Emily Foden using a kit of her lovely Viola Yarns plus some Shibui mohair for the borders. I love it! I still need to block it but for now I'll just cuddle it.<br />
<br />
Had a busy weekend. On Saturday, I went on a mini <a href="https://yarncrawlnyc.com/">NYC Yarn Crawl</a> -- only managed three out of 12 stores. But seriously, I'm so bad at walking out of a store without buying something. And I did enough damage at 3 stores! lol!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1ssX8BDYIsI/XZIpyTA0VqI/AAAAAAAALmQ/R58w5QcQhJUJ8yWhxoRXsTWd5ZG6bfGJACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/F0E0F151-57CF-4CE6-A307-02FC065A21E6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1440" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1ssX8BDYIsI/XZIpyTA0VqI/AAAAAAAALmQ/R58w5QcQhJUJ8yWhxoRXsTWd5ZG6bfGJACLcBGAsYHQ/s640/F0E0F151-57CF-4CE6-A307-02FC065A21E6.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
We also managed to go to a broadcast of Live From Here at Town Hall. It's no secret that I love Chris Thile!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Di_jmao823w/XZIqSy4J1qI/AAAAAAAALmk/ggz_XsXEKLs9h6ACN3arRJmO1QnOif17wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/C2EB3F4E-6229-45B7-A375-3CCB742196BD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Di_jmao823w/XZIqSy4J1qI/AAAAAAAALmk/ggz_XsXEKLs9h6ACN3arRJmO1QnOif17wCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/C2EB3F4E-6229-45B7-A375-3CCB742196BD.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And on Sunday, we went to see a matinee performance of To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway at the Schubert Theater.<br />
<br />

<br />
It was so good, and so relevant to today's world. I have to say it did justice to the book, although of course you should read the book!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ArfMeImb0D8/XZIrDxSs9UI/AAAAAAAALm4/-9uv-5yaWpwUwjwCQhzsAvogh70v2FKSwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/IMG_1324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ArfMeImb0D8/XZIrDxSs9UI/AAAAAAAALm4/-9uv-5yaWpwUwjwCQhzsAvogh70v2FKSwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/IMG_1324.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The Sunday before this past Sunday, we went on a dinner cruise on the Hudson and got to see this view. It was to celebrate my sweet father type's 60th birthday. (Which I managed not to post about on this blog. Whoops!) Happy belated birthday to my sweetie!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Mia was not thrilled by all the activity. :D <br />
<br />
Have a great week!Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-57098834358198139732019-08-31T07:42:00.000-07:002019-08-31T07:42:25.898-07:00Autumn is coming!!Here it's the day before September -- how did that happen?! Seriously, getting old makes time fly even faster. Anyway, I wanted to check in quickly with a progress picture of my current project, the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/yell-2">Yell Cardigan by Marie Wallin</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r3v7O-YE2Zk/XWqGCc3yO2I/AAAAAAAALlg/g_emY4VgXQw_eD4yF4DBWsZHDWqFkN23wCLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_34c7.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r3v7O-YE2Zk/XWqGCc3yO2I/AAAAAAAALlg/g_emY4VgXQw_eD4yF4DBWsZHDWqFkN23wCLcBGAs/s640/fullsizeoutput_34c7.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
One sleeve is finished to the ribbing, and the other is almost to the same point. Being short and short armed, I had to shorten the sleeves. I'm waiting to do the ribbing till I cut open the front steek and am able to try the cardigan on. Fingers crossed, the sleeves will be a good length and my calculations were on target! The picture shows the back of the cardigan.<br />
<br />
I'm currently enjoying the US Open (tennis!) and also enjoying the overall cooler weather. Hoping that Hurricane Dorian blows out to sea!<br />
<br />

But I will try. Have you seen how she still has the same sparkle in her eye that she did as a toddler?<br />

Really? I haven't posted pics of my socks or Navelli as finished items? Wow. OK. <br />
<br />
But first, let me show you my progress on my current WIP, the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/yell-2">Yell Cardigan by Marie Wallin.</a> I do love Marie Wallin's designs.<br />

DD loves the sweater, I think. I hope she gets lots of use out of it!<br />

And here are my finished <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-sock-1">Simple Sock 1 socks by Melody Hoffman.</a><br />

<br />
I can't wait till the time when it's cool enough to wear them!<br />
<br />
I'm trying to think of what's been going on around here. I guess the biggest thing is a bad attack of vertigo -- complete with throwing up. Sigh. Believe it or not, I'm still not feeling absolutely back to normal, and it's been over two weeks since the attack. But my doctor reassured me that the after effects can take a while to go away. Figures. Thankfully, I'm mostly feeling better. I won't complain! I just hope I never get another vertigo attack again.<br />
<br />

Mia thinks it's too hot. How did that happen?<br />
<br />
First, I guess I finished Bressay in June. So here's a finished picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KqtpDwT2H_0/XRihWtMXF3I/AAAAAAAALgQ/orkm0pp6bVAayEFHMmc2Qi7UIltCdS1pwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1203" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KqtpDwT2H_0/XRihWtMXF3I/AAAAAAAALgQ/orkm0pp6bVAayEFHMmc2Qi7UIltCdS1pwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_1115.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Once I finished Bressay, I moved on to a couple of other projects. First, I started some socks, because we went on vacation to Maine (of which more later). I'm still knitting the first sock, but here is as far as I got.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q4zBtP47QYM/XRihvEHql-I/AAAAAAAALgY/DYOd68K91t4Vhaof2NPxePNjMJ6h1K98ACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1130.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q4zBtP47QYM/XRihvEHql-I/AAAAAAAALgY/DYOd68K91t4Vhaof2NPxePNjMJ6h1K98ACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_1130.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-sock-1">Simple Sock 1 from the Simple Sock Collective</a> by Melody Hoffman. I'm using the called for yarn, which includes a strand of mohair -- love the fuzziness!<br />
<br />
Then once we were home again, I started a <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/navelli">Navelli by Boyland Knitworks</a> for my sweet girl child. She picked out the yarn colors herself from Purl Soho when I went down to the city for a day out with her. (Note the difference between the color work section and the top section. I blocked the color work section, so it looks much more smooth and plump and finished!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TsH7d8tipf0/XRii6nxI2PI/AAAAAAAALgk/CTUw9ZSkGokU2VU12SRcHzA34lyQiGlAQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_1140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TsH7d8tipf0/XRii6nxI2PI/AAAAAAAALgk/CTUw9ZSkGokU2VU12SRcHzA34lyQiGlAQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_1140.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm actually a bit farther along than this picture shows now. I can't wait to finish it and give it to her! I'm using Brooklyn Tweed Peerie. The pattern calls for a super wash yarn, which Peerie isn't. So I'm having to make small adjustments to the pattern as a result.<br />
<br />
As mentioned above, we went to Maine on vacation in the beginning of June -- much earlier than our usual time. We went up with my sister and her family, plus my father and stepmother. The father type brought to our attention that it was the 20th anniversary of our first vacation up in Maine. That first time we were just with my sister's family. All the kids were tiny then! Sadly, the pictures from that trip aren't accessible, but I do have pictures from this trip.<br />

<br />
And yes, the last couple of pictures show I did manage to get to a couple of yarn stores as well. I didn't get a picture of Clementine in Rockland, Maine, but I went there and also to the Cashmere Goat in Camden, Maine. Both lovely shops!<br />
<br />
And here are some gratuitous Mia photos.<br />

Yikes! Had to run over here to post a quick May update. I've been working on a new sweater project, the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bressay-2">Bressay sweater by Marie Wallin</a>. I'm loving this knit. I've decided I like bottom up yokes better than top down!<div>

<br />
Next was the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/burra-2">Burra Cowl.</a><br />

These are both patterns by Marie Wallin, one of my knitting heroes. Both are serving as gauge swatches for the big piece, the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bressay-2">Bressay sweater.</a> These are all from the book Shetland, and use Jamiesons of Shetland Spindrift yarn. I have since done my stockinette gauge swatch for the stockinette portion of the sweater and have cast on. Yay me!<br />
<br />
I took a ride into the city last week to meet up with my sweet daughter. We went to enjoy the beauty of spring at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.<br />

This is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fabiola-4">Fabiola Sweater</a> by Gudrun Johnston, from the Brooklyn Tweed Winter 2019 collection. I love it! <br />
<br />
As usual, swatching did not mean the sweater fits the way I expected. But it fits fine. And that's that. <br />
<br />
Woohoo!<br />

But it does. I miss my tiny boy, but I have loved watching you grow into a man. And now you've reached a quarter century, which is hard to believe. We're so proud of who you are. Can't wait to see what's in store for you.<br />

<br />
It's a slow knit -- almost 400 stitches to start with on (for me) size US 1.5, 2.5mm needles. But it's color work and I love it. The last picture shows the start of one of my sleeve steeks.<br />
<br />
Not much else to show! I'm a monogamous knitter, and this sweater is my monogamous knit right now.<br />
<br />
It's been a winter so far of snow to mix to ice to freezing rain, etc and repeat. Frankly, I'm quite ready for spring. Thank goodness for the longer days!<br />

I guess I will go in order -- thank goodness for my ravelry project page!<br />
<br />
First, I finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/le-massif-scarf">Le Massif Scarf, by Diana Walla,</a> using a kit from <a href="http://www.espacetricot.com/kits">Espace Tricot.</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zjgtuNVx2E/XFDuoparHjI/AAAAAAAALWo/gOT-Hqx_Rq08tS-C3F9jt6Dmo2C3a4nrwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0846.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zjgtuNVx2E/XFDuoparHjI/AAAAAAAALWo/gOT-Hqx_Rq08tS-C3F9jt6Dmo2C3a4nrwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0846.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Such an enjoyable knit, and I love the result!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next I finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/happily-ever-after-mitts">Happily Ever After Mitts by Susan B. Anderson,</a> using a special yarn by the Cozy Knitter -- her 2018 Advent Stripe yarn.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DqUMGJCnYo8/XFERu7ItFRI/AAAAAAAALW0/DxrWvIASXpQ4iHSUxP_W1oTODFZJlTrPACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DqUMGJCnYo8/XFERu7ItFRI/AAAAAAAALW0/DxrWvIASXpQ4iHSUxP_W1oTODFZJlTrPACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0853.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
My dear friend Laurie (@laurieandowen on instagram) sent me the leftovers of her advent yarn, so I had to make these mitts out of them!<br />
<br />
Next, I made a block of <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-shieling">The Shieling blanket by Kate Davies</a>. I used her Milarrochy Tweed yarn as called for. I don't have enough yarn to make a whole blanket, but I might make some more squares with what I have.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hvH2ROU9ld8/XFESpnuQ8MI/AAAAAAAALW8/NXQndhT51uEOlIVcAH8nzXmiHtXx9fsrQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0854.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hvH2ROU9ld8/XFESpnuQ8MI/AAAAAAAALW8/NXQndhT51uEOlIVcAH8nzXmiHtXx9fsrQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0854.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I finished a <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sockhead-cowl">Sockhead Cowl</a> that I had started last year. Nice to have this one finished and done with. It was my soothing knit during a time of major family crisis.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bkJzE7-Ju70/XFETQcdLbfI/AAAAAAAALXI/908AFGYgD70TVQwMXl1xEw-ytR5Xjg9pQCLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_3405.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bkJzE7-Ju70/XFETQcdLbfI/AAAAAAAALXI/908AFGYgD70TVQwMXl1xEw-ytR5Xjg9pQCLcBGAs/s640/fullsizeoutput_3405.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly, I finished the<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/poza"> Poza cowl by Ysolda Teague.</a> I used the yarn called for, Floating by AVFKW in the Red Pear color.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FUC-KoT_LHQ/XFETtRFiqLI/AAAAAAAALXQ/AIwy9C2BB-4j6kuDT8k5hxu8O2I7Wdx9wCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0890.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FUC-KoT_LHQ/XFETtRFiqLI/AAAAAAAALXQ/AIwy9C2BB-4j6kuDT8k5hxu8O2I7Wdx9wCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0890.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-014qMBNSQ88/XFETxedsTDI/AAAAAAAALXU/wzs3NWFC5pIdT4WHdkJILhP7M_Nqx1JiwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0862.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-014qMBNSQ88/XFETxedsTDI/AAAAAAAALXU/wzs3NWFC5pIdT4WHdkJILhP7M_Nqx1JiwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0862.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm currently attempting to swatch for the Fabiola by Gudrun Johnston. It's a Brooklyn Tweed pattern using BT Loft. This is my swatch in leftover yarn from another project. The colors aren't what I will use in the sweater.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_SvoKpOuiVo/XFEUKpmkX4I/AAAAAAAALXg/OmAbuli2US4CtUXWok6jmHMTl00yzA4jACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_SvoKpOuiVo/XFEUKpmkX4I/AAAAAAAALXg/OmAbuli2US4CtUXWok6jmHMTl00yzA4jACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0895.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I am having trouble meeting gauge, a common problem for me somehow. We'll see if I succeed and cast on.<br />
<br />
I went to Vogue Knitting Live in NYC for what I think was the third time (4th? Something like that.) on Saturday. Didn't take many pictures though.<br />

Let's just say 2018 has not been a good year.<br />
<br />
I can now show the secret knitting since Christmas is over. I knitted a replacement <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mawson">Mawson hat </a>for the father type -- the first one I knitted for him is somewhere in the subways and trains of the city, lost forever. Father type requested another, so that was his Christmas present for this year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WpavdrzRPFA/XCe7OhC5V1I/AAAAAAAALSQ/WCxiLJfu5Xgcqg5xowXLzL1xZHyLCNwCACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0835.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WpavdrzRPFA/XCe7OhC5V1I/AAAAAAAALSQ/WCxiLJfu5Xgcqg5xowXLzL1xZHyLCNwCACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0835.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the first year I have actually purposefully knitted Christmas presents for everyone. The <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-burr">Little Burr hat</a> was for DS (although this pic shows it on father type). It has a double brim and cables, which should make it nice and warm for Buffalo winters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OiTbBGxhU_Y/XCe7qNOJNLI/AAAAAAAALSY/5bf1bhQGvtMiwKNR_XUNzwsk8OQYlTRhgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0750.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OiTbBGxhU_Y/XCe7qNOJNLI/AAAAAAAALSY/5bf1bhQGvtMiwKNR_XUNzwsk8OQYlTRhgCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0750.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I knitted DD the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pine-bough-cowl">Pine Bough cowl,</a> which she really likes. Stupidly, I didn't get a picture of her wearing it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WReuwosaioI/XCe8NGIFBsI/AAAAAAAALSg/yfCLXVyeumkCWQLWDgloWbYW-mhBFS8XQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0633.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WReuwosaioI/XCe8NGIFBsI/AAAAAAAALSg/yfCLXVyeumkCWQLWDgloWbYW-mhBFS8XQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0633.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So that's it for Christmas knitting. To continue on with finished objects, I finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/galloway-hat">Galloway hat</a> by Jared Flood using Peerie yarn. Sadly, it came out a little on the short side. I will have to tackle it at some point and make it a tad longer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cUctP63_z54/XCe8u26BbWI/AAAAAAAALSs/J_YgPPZ_piMzQI2IGu2QdNDyO9dRCJA9ACLcBGAs/s1600/fullsizeoutput_33dc.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cUctP63_z54/XCe8u26BbWI/AAAAAAAALSs/J_YgPPZ_piMzQI2IGu2QdNDyO9dRCJA9ACLcBGAs/s640/fullsizeoutput_33dc.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I also finished my Advent project, which was a kit/advent calendar from Jimmy Beans Wool. It's the Get Together Wrap by Joji Locatelli in the Sugar Plum Fairy color way. Sadly, they decided to give me 4 different dye lots of the main grey color, which meant I ended up having to rip back twice (not realizing the dye lot problem). I have discovered that super wash and garter/lace shawls like this aren't my thing, but I'm glad to have finished the project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4Uo5_TZOpYE/XCe9ljsbdNI/AAAAAAAALS0/Jw7lrskW4MECWBxAbk7fqk9ZI_nKSARIACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4Uo5_TZOpYE/XCe9ljsbdNI/AAAAAAAALS0/Jw7lrskW4MECWBxAbk7fqk9ZI_nKSARIACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0811.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm currently knitting the<a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/le-massif-scarf"> Le Massif Scarf</a> by Dianna Walla, which is part of the Chalet Collection put out by Espace Tricot. Yes, I'm back to color work, which seems to be my happy place. I'm using the called for Kelbourne Woolens Scout yarn in the called for colors.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-70oajmzDBIE/XCe-E0mws2I/AAAAAAAALTA/WYjSzAM2RfMKqKZtHSFxQLrOvAVMNCbKwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0834.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-70oajmzDBIE/XCe-E0mws2I/AAAAAAAALTA/WYjSzAM2RfMKqKZtHSFxQLrOvAVMNCbKwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0834.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm to the middle "lice" section of the scarf -- which is the boring part. Hopefully I'll manage to plow through. I do love how the scarf is essentially a very long, fat sleeve with two ribbed cuffs. Fantastic!<br />
<br />
We had a good Christmas, which was too short -- poor DS had to travel back to Buffalo the day after Christmas so he could go back to work. But it was wonderful having both kids at home for Christmas, even if it was just for a few days. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mtFjNHkRtPY/XCe-6tBj9TI/AAAAAAAALTI/l6O4jDtBTkIKsLF6nzJL9OGvUTpgBALMQCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0810.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mtFjNHkRtPY/XCe-6tBj9TI/AAAAAAAALTI/l6O4jDtBTkIKsLF6nzJL9OGvUTpgBALMQCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0810.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We made dumplings on Christmas Eve Eve since DS won't be home for New Years (and neither will DD, I believe).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H5sZxPb2u0w/XCe_QWnxxsI/AAAAAAAALTQ/6PVVeVxfETE9fMqqFeWRDDGMF4UXVqPagCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H5sZxPb2u0w/XCe_QWnxxsI/AAAAAAAALTQ/6PVVeVxfETE9fMqqFeWRDDGMF4UXVqPagCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0816.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We made the usual Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve as well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_WD5YNXZL4o/XCe_bNYfrLI/AAAAAAAALTU/b-RVI4DyxoYuPk08rA-YXS0S7RBSKLi8ACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_WD5YNXZL4o/XCe_bNYfrLI/AAAAAAAALTU/b-RVI4DyxoYuPk08rA-YXS0S7RBSKLi8ACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0815.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This year, we had our first artificial tree. The kids don't like artificial trees, but this year they let me have my way. I compromised by getting a little tree, just 4 1/2 feet tall. I love it! Unlike Carol of <a href="https://stitchingdream.blogspot.com/">Stitching Dreams,</a> who went all out to make sure everything was perfect and decorated for having all her kids home for the holidays, I went easy and went small on the decorating. lol!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vNzhqk9_7lA/XCfAQ0uHo0I/AAAAAAAALTc/poTNhU4O8FMuwzYmETuUrg2owImNfz8ugCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vNzhqk9_7lA/XCfAQ0uHo0I/AAAAAAAALTc/poTNhU4O8FMuwzYmETuUrg2owImNfz8ugCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0817.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Mia, in her usual spot, being disgruntled, on Christmas morning. lol! She doesn't like interruptions to her routine!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Christmas dinner. We had ham, mac and cheese, biscuits, and a throwback from my childhood, green bean casserole (with cream of mushroom soup and French's onions!). And apple pie for dessert!</div>
<br />

<br />
I did manage to get a picture of DS in his Little Burr hat, building one of his Lego kits.<br />
<br />

I hope everyone who celebrates had or is having a wonderful holiday. All the best for a happy, healthy, wonderful New Year.Margarethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03646028248366805686noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789554235806283705.post-15943647225980280622018-12-01T14:02:00.002-08:002018-12-01T14:02:45.901-08:00Oops. Missed November.....Somehow it became December and I didn't post during November. Whoops! Anyway, I have various finishes, one of which I won't show cause it's a Christmas present and a certain someone (I think) reads this blog. So just in case, I won't show that item.<br />
<br />
First, the last thing I finished -- it just came off the needles. It's the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/forest-tam">Forest Tam by Marie Wallin</a>. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NQe4yyCJ7t0/XAL96BN2pYI/AAAAAAAALPw/0BA1eLSH44A7drnEsjCqVgAxEvwHCfvnwCLcBGAs/s1600/47101797_306978903481902_8660846688869116826_n_small2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="320" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NQe4yyCJ7t0/XAL96BN2pYI/AAAAAAAALPw/0BA1eLSH44A7drnEsjCqVgAxEvwHCfvnwCLcBGAs/s640/47101797_306978903481902_8660846688869116826_n_small2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used Marie Wallin's new yarn called British Breeds. The colors are so wonderful! Sadly, the picture doesn't convey how perfect the colors are. This pattern came in the British Breeds box of yarn -- a skein of each color, plus the pattern booklet. I hope to make the cowl from the booklet as well.<br />
<br />
Next is the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kukka-5">Kukka Cowl </a>from the latest issue (17) of Amirisu magazine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TTtyPj9bSFA/XAL-osBTMPI/AAAAAAAALP4/kU6t6h_5QcskpNGrJBh3F-WMCh5gTrC6wCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0763.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TTtyPj9bSFA/XAL-osBTMPI/AAAAAAAALP4/kU6t6h_5QcskpNGrJBh3F-WMCh5gTrC6wCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0763.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the called for Ram Jam yarn from Daughter of a Shepherd. I only needed one skein of each color, not two as the pattern says.<br />
<br />
I also finished the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-burr">Little Burr hat by Sarah Solomon</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bE5ipcelJak/XAL_F7DuKeI/AAAAAAAALQA/H6sCSYdbadwFxiIqQUyPUl3SHdBm5_5UwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0750.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bE5ipcelJak/XAL_F7DuKeI/AAAAAAAALQA/H6sCSYdbadwFxiIqQUyPUl3SHdBm5_5UwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0750.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the lovely Myak Baby Yak Medium for the hat -- such a treat!<br />
<br />
And yes, I did finish my <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jaycee">Jaycee cardigan by Isabell Kraemer</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-29zz6vx5mpw/XAL_tCB6F3I/AAAAAAAALQI/lCu56MkwrXwidewVEaNPVJBTisdrJzfpgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0732.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1203" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-29zz6vx5mpw/XAL_tCB6F3I/AAAAAAAALQI/lCu56MkwrXwidewVEaNPVJBTisdrJzfpgCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0732.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I even found some buttons for it -- took a while for them to arrive. Now I need to sew them on. Problem is I keep wearing the cardigan -- hard to sew on buttons while I'm wearing it!<br />
<br />
Lots of things happened since I last posted. I had a wonderful time in the city when Loop London had its pop up event at the Here Now Space run by Myak. I was so happy to meet up with Tanya, Lucy and Nancy, who came all the way up from Virginia for the weekend, and the event. (Tanya is bzmama, Lucy is lucysyarnpocket, and Nancy is nancydaniels92 on instagram.) We met up at Katz's Deli for lunch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DQLs-8h7rBI/XAMBMSfmSsI/AAAAAAAALQU/j6ETlq9a2c8Q6qUnEozdVnmdlP1AcD39wCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0716.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DQLs-8h7rBI/XAMBMSfmSsI/AAAAAAAALQU/j6ETlq9a2c8Q6qUnEozdVnmdlP1AcD39wCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0716.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
We visited Purl Soho afterwards and then went to the lovely pop up shop. Such fun! Thanks, ladies, for a fun day!<br />
<br />
Then of course there was Thanksgiving. Got to have my kid-lings home for a few days. Yay!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UuOOsNCze-4/XAMBx3A8wiI/AAAAAAAALQc/o0BDqiIgFlw6LkCViKuqrq5n3vcF21z0QCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0753.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UuOOsNCze-4/XAMBx3A8wiI/AAAAAAAALQc/o0BDqiIgFlw6LkCViKuqrq5n3vcF21z0QCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0753.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

It went by way too quickly, but it was so good to hug my babies. <br />
<br />
Of course, we see DD much more often than DS since she lives in the city. This past Thursday, I got to go to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald with her in the city (#protectthesecrets). After, we met up with the father type and had dinner at the Grey Dog, and dessert at Max Brenners. OMG. Chocolate. (I had fish tacos at the Grey Dog. Yum!)<br />

I need more chocolate. lol! I neglected to take a picture of DD. Silly me!<br />
<br />
Mia, needless to say, hasn't been appreciative of extra people in the house, of me disappearing for the day, or of the disruption of her schedule. She also doesn't appreciate the cold. But she survives.<br />
