Too much to talk about....

One problem with not posting as often.  I have too much to talk about when I do post!

First, the various projects I've been working on.  I started and finished Plum Street Samplers -- Serial Bowl Collection, Sampler Lesson 2.  (I still have to finish finish it though...)

Then I found an old UFO and started working on it -- the Margaret Cottam Mystery Sampler by La D Da.

I've also been working on my mitered square blanket.  I'm 6 squares from finishing the third row.

We celebrated the girl child's birthday together in NYC.  It was a fun day with yummy food and a great bookstore discovery too.

And then we went to Maine!  The girl child only stayed for half the week, but despite that and lots of fog and clouds, we had a good time.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

(Loved this "chandelier" in Abacus)

Someone was very happy to see us when we got home.

(This was actually the day I was packing for Maine...)
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!

25

I don't know how it happened.  I still remember being traumatized by turning 25.  And now my beautiful girl is 25 today.  I hope she's not traumatized like I was at this milestone.

Happy birthday to my sweet firstborn child.  You will always be my bunny, no matter what your age.  I love you.

Stitching? Just a bit.... also framing!

Yes, there has been a tiny bit of stitching.  Not much though.  I started the Small Girl 1863 sampler by the Essamplaire.  I couldn't find it on the website anymore so I don't know if it's still being sold.  Here's my start on it.

And of course, I've been working on my mitered square blanket.  I've finished 2 rows now -- 24 squares per row.  There are Koigu, Lorna's Laces, Madeline Tosh and Rhichard Devrieze yarns in the blanket so far.

And since I know people will ask, no, I didn't make the hooked rug pillow, and yes, I did make the Tumbling Blocks quilt.  lol!

I also picked up some framing -- finally!  Here is my His Eye is on the Sparrow (by Heartstring Samplerary).

And here is my Hornbook Bestiary (by the Scarlet Letter).  I got a custom hornbook frame made by Valley House Primitives -- and I love it!  It's hard to see the marbling on the frame, but it's perfect!

The father type and I got to go to the last of U2's concerts at Madison Square Garden on July 31st.  It was quite the experience.

They had this cool, huge screen thing that the guys could actually be inside of -- this is the group inside the screen.  It also showed anything in giant size that they wanted.  Very cool.

And Bruce Springsteen came onstage for part of the encore too.

A very fun concert!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.
