Here is my Rachel. I seem to have another naked bird.
Not sure why it looks so crooked on the bottom. But I finished the right border, and that line on the bottom is the beginnings of grass. Looks like everything should meet up border-wise. Yay! Not as much done as I'd like, but these things happen.
This next picture has my TUSAL orts in it. It also has a lovely gift I received from Melinda at Merry Wind Farm. Melinda saw my post with the skeleton keys I bought from the antique store. She sent me a key from her grandfather's collection.
I love the key -- a very substantial one! -- and the card she sent too. Thanks so much, Melinda!
And there are my orts for the month. Lots of red from the flowers in Rachel's border.
The other day I went to a local quilt store just for fun. It's a small one, but it carries things like Oakshott fabric and Daiwabo. I came home with a few fat quarters of various sorts, laid my bag on the bed, turned my back for a minute, and this is what I saw when I came back.
It's hard to tell from the pic, but that's my Oakshott fabric to her right and underneath her. lol! The rest is in the bag. I guess Mia loves fabric too. lol!
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week!
ETA: Just wanted to add this in. The boy child is fine. He is at my sister's house for the 3 day weekend. He will be riding in to Boston tomorrow assuming classes are on. There were no classes today, so he was not in Boston and wasn't close to the bombings, thank God. My heart is heavy. I am saying prayers for those affected by this tragedy.

Cats have a knack of homing in on anything new that comes through the door. Mia is such a pretty girl, I do look forward to seeing her every Monday.
Beautiful progress on Rachel! You're my inspiration Margaret:)
Wow! Rachel is wonderful. Mia looks so snuggly. =)

Love those angels. Your naked bird will get its feathers soon. Miss Mia just had to give that fabric some kitty love dontcha know.
You're making such great progress on Rachel!! And I have to chuckle at Mia. Those animals just love to sit on new fabrics for some reason!! Maybe she's trying to tell you that you need to make her a quilt.
Oh its gorgeous! (sometimes my linen gets a bit crookedy looking from stitching and I just stretch it out and its "normal")
Kitties are wonderful :)
Half the fun of having a naked bird is dressing the bird. Rachel is beautiful. I have her on order but I'm still waiting ... must be the silks !!
Mia is adorable. What is it that makes the cats sleep on every single item brought into the home ??
Have a great week dear friend.
Beautiful Margaret, it's a busy sampler and I do love those;)
How nice to receive the key, a lovely present.
Oh yes who would not love to be near fabric, even cats;))
Have a good sunny week!
I just love cats! And your Mia is a cutie pie!
Your Rachel is progressing nicely. I LOVE the red...my favorite color!
I'm still waiting on my supplies for Rachel...no hurry, because I have tons of model stitching to do first!
All the best,

Awww... Mia is such a cutie pie! Your Rachel is beautiful, but please, dress that poor bird.
What a sweet gift to send you a key for your collection!
Wow. Rachel is so pretty. I was always so taken with the birds that I never noticed the two naked people in the center!
Rachel's progress makes a lovely ort collection! Don't you know Mia is a stitcher at heart, so of course she loves new fabbies - just like the rest of us!
LOVE your cat pictures!! AND 'Rachel' is coming along beautifully. I have a question though.........what is the name/designer of the sampler in the top with the lg brown//gold bird sitting by the lady? Went to your photobucket but didn't see it. Thanks MJ
Rachel looks great - I'm sure you'll have that bird dressed by next time.
wowwwwwwwwww it is looking so lovely x
it is looking great!
Ahhhhh, such a great feeling of relief, that moment when you know for sure the border matches up. I am doing a piece right now that, sadly, will not have that moment for me. lol (But I can fudge it so no one will know. :))
Rachel looks fabulous. Bird doesn't look crooked to me and it will probably all right itself in the end in any case.
Mia looks so big in the photos. Not the teeny kitten she once was. All your babies are growing up!
Beautiful progress on Rachel, Margaret! What a sweet thing for Melinda to send you a key. Love Miss Mia!
Rachel is looking good, you will have that bird clothed in some fine feathers soon.
Mia has excellent taste in fabric!
Rachel looks great- what a thoughtful gift- a lovely key for your collection :)
Doesn't it feel great when the border comes together??!
Rachel is looking beautiful!
Rachel is stunning! I love the birds even the naked one! Such a lovely gift from Melinda! That key is so special since it's from her grandfather and I know you'll cherish it. Aww, sweet Mia wants to help you with your quilting! Or she just wants you to make one for her!!
Hugs
Love your Rachel, I can't get over how much you have done!!!!
Mia says it is all hers! LOL! Rachel is looking quite lovely and that key is awesome too.
Rachel looks so pretty! Mia is so funny! So many cats seem to have the knack that it's fabric they aren't supposed to be lying on! lol
I came to your blog looking to make sure your son was okay. I am so glad to hear he's out of Boston. I have a friend who finished just before. Thank goodness she is okay and my heart goes out to those who are not!
Rachel is looking good - glad your borders are matching.
I lay a quilt out on the floor to decide rows and such - dog magnet...he's there before I can move away. Funny pets we have!
Have a good week, Margaret!
Rachel is looking great Margaret. Mia is a cutie. Everytime I move something or bring something in, one of the critters has to investigate.

So good to read that your son was safe, Margaret. Luckily, my sister in Boston was out of town on Monday, too...Such a tragedy for that beautiful city...
Your Rachel is coming along beautifully--looking forward to seeing what you make with the new fabrics :)
Glad to hear that your son is safe and sound. It has been such a scary time. I love your progress, that red is just gorgeous! Mia is so sweet, cats just love to get into anything that is new, it's their curiosity gene :D

Love that wonderful kitty, Mia, who always manages to make herself the focal point of everything, doesn't she? So cute.
Blessings!
Rachel is gorgeous, great progress
Lol at Mia, cats have an uncanny knack for zeroing on on the things we particularly don't want covered in cat fur
Rachel is such a beauty and Mia is so cheeky!!!! I am glad that your son is safe and wasn't near the bombing.
