Beautiful Rachel

Here's Rachel.

As you can see, the bird is feeling much better now.  And Adam and Eve have made their presence known as well.

Sorry about the lighting.  Now why is it that some A&E's have different color faces from their bodies?  I thought Adam and Eve didn't wear clothing, so it can't be suntan lines.  :D

I've neglected to say that Rachel is being stitched on the called for linen (40ct PTP Legacy) using the called for NPI threads.

The boy child has been accepted into the major he wanted at his college, a competitive major that one has to apply for.  He is planning a double major and is so excited to be at the stage where he can start concentrating on his interests.  The girl child has been working on a contract basis up to this point at her job, but has now accepted a full time position at the company -- which means benefits, and her company paying for her grad school education.  Both kids interviewed the same week and found out they'd been successful the same week. Their parents are pleased.  :D

Mia has been spending lots of time by the window, soaking up the sun and watching birds.

She has noticed the difference with that tree we had to cut down.  I'm hoping the sun won't be overwhelming without its shade this summer.

Short post this time around.  Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.

Hmmm, maybe those darker lines are supposed to be kind of like fig leaves?! haha, that's all I could think of! Great progress...

I love your progress on Rachel. Such a beauty!
Congratulations to the kids! It is a wonderful feeling if life goes well for them and one doesn't have to worry about them more than parents normally do. :)

So pretty. Maybe the faces are in the shade of the tree. Or maybe they are blushing after their humiliation!

Looks like your kids will be able to support you now! Congrats!

Your Rachel looks fabulous. Adam and Eve do look as if they've had their faces in the sun... and their ta tas are very prominent too!
Congrats to both your kids for their accomplishments.
Mia should enjoy more sunshine... not sure about you though!

Congrats to both your wonderful kids!

Different color faces: just guessing, but maybe the pinker color signifies embarrassment now that their innocence has been destroyed?

The bird looks great with its feathers this week. Congrats to both kids. Wonderful news! Have a great week.

Rachel is progressing beautifully. Since this is a reproduction, the original probably had only a limited supply of 'skin' color and wanted to use it on their faces. Good guess? Congrats to the kids AND their parents! I know you're all happy. Ah, aren't we ALL enjoying some of that precious sunshine? Happy stitching week!

Our internet is out for almost a week. I can't see colors well at this library monitor. I "think" Rachel looks good!?! ;)

Hooray for your kids. That is wonderful! So happy for you all.

Rachel is gorgeous, Margaret! I'm going with the blushing from shame train of thought but whatever the reason, they look great! Well done to both your kids - what great news!
Hope your home isn't too much hotter with the tree gone. We lost a big one due to Ash Borer and it was on our Western exposure. Made a huge difference in how much hotter the house felt in the summer and not in a good way. ;-)

Rachel is beautiful, but I have to say that the faces are a little different being another color. Maybe they're kind of blushing with embarrassment?

Congratulations to both your children. You have to be so proud!!

Mia is so beautiful, must be nice to be a cat, lol

Margaret that sampler is stunning! The bird alone is worth it! I think Adam and his girl have redder faces because they are embarrassed to be naked. Or she's having a hot flash and just face slapped him. Congratulations to both offspring!

Congratulations Mama! Big accomplishments for your children!

I hadn't realized it was common for A&E's to have the different coloring for the face. Interesting...

Margaret!! Rachel is gorgeous - I need/want to get that chart. Congratulations to the boy and girl -- great news for them. We are now in count down mode (less than 5 months) till our son comes home from S. Korea. Love the photos (as always) of Mia -- what a cutie!

That bird is really striking, Margaret--lovely colors in this sampler! How nice that both kids got such great news last week--I'm sure they're both very hard workers and it has paid off :) Yay for benefits for your daughter--that is so important and what a great thing that they'll pay for grad school Wonderful week, I'd say :)

congratulations on the kids accomplishments - I know you must be relieved and pleased and proud all at the same time. Rachel is looking gorgeous - loved those red boo boo dots on the A&E bodies LOL - aren't all A&E quirky - well mostly - it sure is a beautiful piece - my silks should arrive today I hope. Enjoy your time with the needle - Mel

Love seeing Rachel's progress!! She looks gorgeous in red :) But of course Ms. Limo and I are always enjoying finding out what's Mia is up to now. Is she maybe looking for your son to be back home from that direction towards she is looking out the window?

Beth said...

My but Rachel is a dense and motif-filled sampler isn't she? That is one crazy-looking bird. Congrats on your kids' many successes. You should be proud. Mia looks to be most content.

I love the way the bird is looking - the colours are so rich and warm in this sampler. Cats do like to soak up the sun - our two follow it around the house.

Wow...your needles are blazing through Rachel. All those flowers are so pretty!Strange that Adam and Eve are two-toned though. Congratulations to the kids! Wonderful news!

Melanie said...

Great progress on this! I love the finished bird. He has great detail.
I always wonder why poor Eve has to bare her ta-tas all the time while Adam gets to cover up all his bits. I mean, I get the subtext that she is a temptress but do we have to humiliate her in perpetuity? Poor thing. lol

Congrats to your son!!! :)

Anne said...

Oooh that bird does have gorgeous plumage!! I'm loving Rachel more and more!! Hmm, maybe I'll have to get her! Love the A & E and I really have no clue why their faces are darker than their bodies?! Jane's A & E were so bright and looked like lobsters! Jane Atkinson's A & E were funny too with their rasta hair and different shades of skin! It's kind of fun to look at all the girls' interpretations of A & Es!!

Anne said...

Oops...forgot to add, Congrats to your children!! Wow they are fulfilling their dreams!!
