Ho hum......

I've come to the end.  The end of what I can stitch on the Richmond Sampler that is.  Well, I could stitch a bit more, but I'd prefer to wait till I know what I'm supposed to stitch in those places (the areas with over one stitching).  Sigh.  I so want to finish this -- it's rather frustrating!  Here it is as is.

It's such a pretty piece!  Hopefully the next lesson will come out today.  And it will have some of the over one parts!!  I hope!!

In the meantime, I did finish Hallow Eden.

Hallow Eden by Plum Street Samplers
40ct River Willow by Lakeside Linens
Crescent Colors fibers as called for
with one DMC (for avocado)

I did use one DMC as stated -- my LNS didn't have Avocado in and I wasn't willing to wait to get it.  I think the DMC (there was a conversion for DMC on the chart) looks fine.

So now I'm in a ho hum mood.  I want to work on Richmond but can't.  Don't feel like picking up anything else.  Want to start something new, but I feel guilty doing it.  Sigh..............  I should just buckle down and start the cleaning of the house I need to do.  (The girl child is bringing home friends for Thanksgiving.)

In other news, the boy child was busy having fun last week doing the last pit rehearsals for the high school musical.  The show was this past weekend, and he had a ball doing it.  I think he likes this music gig thing.  :D  One fairly normal week for a change this week.

During all the craziness of the boy child's schedule last week, poor Mia decided to eat some string and suffered the consequences.  The poor boy child witnessed Mia trying to throw up the string, along with all of her food -- at 1AM at night.  There was a trip to the emergency vet in the wee hours of the morning to make sure the little kitten was ok.  And luckily she was, albeit scarily skinny after her ordeal.  She recovered nicely in the next days though and she's back to her normal, spunky, dashing-around-the-house-like-a-crazy-kitten-and-bouncing-off-the-walls self.  lol!

Here are a couple of pics of the boy child with Mia that the girl child took with her iPhone while she was home on break a couple of weeks ago.  Why can she get such good pics and I can't?

Aren't they cute?  The boy child loves to walk around with Mia perched on his shoulder like a parrot.  And Mia seems to enjoy it as well!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  It's so much fun being a part of this community, visiting and chatting!  Have a great week, everyone!

Richmond Sampler is so gorgeous Margaret and I love your PSS finish! I think I might have to get that chart, it's a cute one :)

Sorry you have to wait for the next part of RS, hope you manage to find something to fill the time.

Glad Mia is OK, that's scary! Fortunately ours have never done that, although they both like to play with and chase string.

Aww, what great pics of Mia and her boy. :) They turned out great! I love your Richmond Sampler progress. I can imagine how frustrating it is to not be able to work on it some more. Congrats on the fantastic A&E finish, though! YGG!

Your Richmond Sampler is beautiful. I can't believe how quickly you're stitching this sampler.
Love the A&E too... and of course your sweet Mia.

You are such a productive stitcher! Hallow Eve is lovely and it seems like you started it yesterday. Maybe that's because I've been away and got caught up on a week's worth of blogs at once. I hope they don't leave all the over 1 on the RS until the end.

You can see the affection Mia and your son have for each other in the pictures you posted. It's sweet!

I don't do much embroidery these days, mostly quilting and knitting, but I have a drawer filled with patterns I want to do - some day. I love following your progress and marvel at your incredibly beautiful work and your productivity! And no post is complete without a picture or two of Mia:) Love that kitty. Hope she gets better!

You have the patience of an angel, with all the work you did on that HUGE Richmond Sampler. It's beautiful!

Aww, poor Mia. I had Pantoef read that story about her ordeal, you know, as a sort of warning. Hope he takes heed. Poor Mia!

OMGosh, I love your Hallow Eden! I think I need to add that to my list now. lol Richmond Sampler is looking great too. You're gotten so much done!

I am so glad Mia is ok. How scary! That's what makes me nervous about having a kitty. I have lots of string and yarn around...and I am terrible about putting stuff away! lol

Cute pics of your boy child with Mia!

The sampler is beautiful Margaret. It's too bad that you have to wait for the next part. That would drive me nuts too!

But you do have a finish and I love it!!

Glad that Mia is okay! What a thing to happen in the middle of the night (or any time really). It's amazing what these animals will put in their mouths. Everything looks appealing to them.

I would start something new, why feel guilty for putting your stash to great use??!! lol

Hi Margaret,
By the look of it, you are so close to finishing the Richmond sampler. Two places to do, right. Hopefully you have received your next set of instructions and you will be off again.
Your PSS sampler is lovely. It will look lovely with your other ones.
Glad that Mia has bounced back after her little problem. - Sandra.

Richmond is looking fantastic - hope you get the instructions soon. And Hallow Eden is wonderful - I have to stitch that one!!! Sorry to hear about Mia's incident with the string. Glad she's ok.

Aaaah...the boy and his cat. Too cute! Your Richmond Sampler looks amazing! That is a TON of stitching!! I can only imagine how anxious you must be to finish, since the end is so near!!

Oh Margaret, your Richmond Sampler is beautiful...and getting more so every single time you post. It's just beautiful. I'd have a difficult time holding back. And I love the pics of the boy child and Mia...or like Siobhan said...Mia and her boy!! Glad she recovered!! I caught jaxon eating the yarn I was knitting with. I pulled about 3 feet of fiber out of his throat....lucky him and lucky me!! HUGS

Oh, that would be frustrating, indeed, to have to hold off on finishing up your Richmond Sampler, Margaret! You must be a very patient person :) It looks absolutely amazing!

Oh, those kitties--the things they get into! So glad your little cutie is okay!

Margaret oh Margaret - you have flown thru Richmond - it is astounding how much you have done and it is SOOOO beautiful. This is a wonderful sampler and that Hallow Eden is very cute. So is Miss Mia - she better than her lucky stars her adoring "boyfriend" was watching over her and you could get medical attention for her quickly. Some years ago - one of my best friends champion Afghans ate part of a blanket and she died because it was so much and became all entwined in her intestines. That type of thing can easily be deadly. Needles attached to threads can be deadly for inquisitive little kitties too. I think we all feel the same about our dear blogging friends. Have a good week Mel

The Richmond Sampler looks lovely, sorry that you are in waiting mode, but that is better than being behind!!

Love boy child with Mia - glad she is OK.

You know, I couldn't figure out what the point was of all those queen stitches, and now I know. They completely make that sampler. And the colors! And your stitching! And the design!

Kathy said...

Oh my but Richmond Sampler is exquisite! Love the A&E finish. As for starting something small try an ornament. It should finish quick and then you'll be ready for the rest of the RS.

Love the photos of Mia and boy child.

Woot! Great finish, and fabulous near-finish. So glad Mia's okay. I had a cat, Dan, that loved to sit up on my shoulder until he got too big. :)

Well done for being up to speed on your gorgeous Richmond Sampler even though you're now pacing and waiting for the next installment! Love your PSS finish and the DMC conversion looks great. Poor Mia. I'm glad she was okay. As always, she is such a sweetheart.

Congrats on the A&E finish, it's really gorgeous! So is Richmond - I can see how you'd want to be continuing this so badly. I hope the next lesson appears real fast.

Ah sweet Margaret, I understand how you feel...you have momentum and you want it to continue and then bam, there you are. I hope the next part comes out soon and that you get those parts you are desiring! In the meantime though...it truly is gorgeous! And the Eden stitch...lovely! I need to get that one stat! Little Mia, I'm so glad she is ok! My red cat does that all the time - eats string and then it comes out in either the front or the back.

Your Richmond Sampler is gorgeous. I love the colors.

Hollow Eden is great too!

Have a good week.

Margaret, your Richmond is wonderful! I can't believe you are almost done - I just finished the bottom border and now I'm starting on the house etc. I still have a long way to go and I've been working on it for a very long time! It is going to be my favorite sampler once it's done, however, and I enjoy looking at your photos to motivate me.

Beautiful progress on your Richmond Sampler Margaret! And I love your PSS finish - too cute!! :)

Sherry :o) said...

Hmm maybe start something new and work on it for a short time, clean and then back to stitching...that could maybe ease the guilt! Love the kitty pics! And your sampler is really amazing - lots of filling in and x's abound!

Jan said...

Those are such wonderful heartfelt pics of that boy child of yours and your precious pet...such emotion in those poses, wow!!

I love your almost finish, so sorry you don't have a complete direction to finish. Love your Hallow Eden finish, you zipped through that one quickly!!

Valerie said...

Oh, Richmond sampler is coming along beautifully! I have so thoroughly enjoyed watching and reading about your progress. Don't get too excited about the last part of the sampler. When I took the class last Feb, they told us the little men on horses were a PITA! Hopefully, that won't be the case for you!

Mia is just a doll and I am so glad that she is on the mend.

Your stitching is beautiful! Love Hallow Eden. It will be a great addition to your wall.

It's funny, my daughter gets great shots of my son, too. Must be a sibling vs parent thing. When I even think about pointing a camera in his direction he scowls and/or puts a hand in front of his face. For her he mugs it up like a clown. She gets him to pose at the zoo imitating the animals, and at museums in the pose of the subject in the painting or sculpture. I get palms. What is that? LOL
