Da daaaa, da da dada. Everybody sing along now. Anybody else have the Monday blues? It was a good long weekend though. Girl child was home for Thanksgiving with two friends from college so that was fun. They went back on Friday so it was a short visit. (Mia did not like having visitors around!) Had that Richmond Sampler finish (see last post) which was also very nice! Went to my LNS to drop Richmond and Hallow Eden off for framing and got a few things at the sale that was going on. But it's Monday now. Blah.
Blah also on the stitching front. Didn't get much done on Guarding Eden. Mainly because of that left hand border. (Pic is to prove the darned thing is finished now.)
I managed to miscount up near the top of the darned thing and didn't notice till it was all done. Argh! Had to rip the whole left border out. ARGH! But it's redone now. And just a small start on the tree.
It got interrupted when I noticed the problem with the left border. Thankfully, Richmond came along to save me (ie take me away from the glaring problem). Once Richmond got finished I was ready to face the huge "rip-off." lol!
The father type came along one day and took these pics of Mia sleeping on my lap. This is sort of a typical thing for us. Different chair from my usual stitching spot (I was watching the ATP World Tour Finals (tennis) and thus was sitting in a different chair), but same idea.
She's usually more comfy when we're sitting in my stitching chair. :D And the laptop isn't usually in my lap too.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone is excited about the holidays coming up! Have a great week everyone!

Aww! Sleeping cats are always so cute :) Ours are both snoozing as I type ;)
Glad you got the border fixed - I feel your pain! Sounds like something I would easily have done :)
Fabulous new start Margaret. Glad your Thanksgiving was wonderful...ours was too!! Looking forward to your progress. Hugs to sweet Mia too!!
Mia is such a sweet kitty. I'm sure she's exhausted after having 3 college age girls invading her space.
Sorry you had to do some unstitching. What a PITA.
Yes a lot of stitching on that border Margaret and miscounting sounds familiar:)
Glad to hear your Thanksgiving was good with your family.
Ugh on all that ripping out Margaret!!!! Those pictures of Mia are so cute. They remind me of when my kids were babies and I'd feed them then they'd fall asleep and I'd stitch over their heads so they didn't wake up!!
That Mia is so CUTE! Glad you got the border fixed....I usually have to put my mistake down for a few days, like you did! Can't wait to see the framed finishes! Happy Week!
Oh no! I can't imagine ripping out the entire left border. I'm just glad you noticed it before you stitched all the way around!!!
What great pics of Mia on your lap! Love your new start--even if you did have to rip out that border! Ack--I feel your pain. I was so sure I'd get to the end and discover that I'd done six rows of 5 stitches instead of five and have to rip. It's a fun A&E, though--a great addition to your wall! :)
Goodness Margaret, even with all the frogging, you already put a dent in that border. I am so slow on my project because I have changed nearly all the colours. I think that is why I get so little done. It pleases me, and that is the main thing. Kiss that sweet kitty for me.

Oh I love your stitche the cat very nice
have a good day

Lovely Margaret. Sorry you had to frog the left side. urghhh. x
Oh Margaret, you poor thing having to rip out so much of the border! Not nice!!! Mia is so cute. Glad you'd a nice Thanksgiving even if the girl child only stayed a short time.
Mia is such a cutie! And I'm glad you're now able to stitch with her. That stinks about having to rip out that whole side of the border - yuck! Glad it's fixed now though!!
Well done Margaret on picking that piece back up again after a major 'unpick'.
Mia is the sweetest little thing and she obviously likes to snuggle up to her family.
Mary
Wow! That border is really something else!!! Gorgeous! Love the stitching with the kittie pics!!!
Good progress on your newest piece, Margaret. Those checkerboard borders are so monotonous, aren't they? But, I love the look of them...
Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with your family :)
doesn't she look so comfortable - I can almost hear the purring! Nice new start, even if you started, ripped, started again...
Oh, you have a cute lap cat there! Very cozy lap warmer!
Gosh, ripping out a whole border sounds like a nightmare! But it's looking great now!
Sorry about the frogging:( That's NEVER any fun. Love the picture of Mia, nothing like a good lap warmer.
Yuck on having to rip out the border... it's looking great though! Thanks for sharing the cute cat piccies :-)
I'm curious to see the progress of your sampler. Thanks for visiting me.
I've just finished the tour through your last posts that I missed. What always impresses me very much is your A&E sampler wall. Stunning to see all your beautiful work gathered there.
I'm looking forward to seeing this sampler grow.
The "Humility Stitch" is so humbling, but I am glad to hear that someone else does the Rip Out I hate doing it but it really does make for a better finish. Your Richmond Sampler is fablous...Carol M
Ican't wait to see Guarding Eden as it grows! I hate when I see mistakes so late in the game. Mia is a cutie pie.
Great progress Margaret - I'm so sorry about the frogging though! :( Mia is such a sweetie!!
It's looking beautiful!
I just love that border part of the design.
Jennifer
Great start, glad you caught your counting error, (I hate it when that happens). Mia is beautiful. Oh what linen are you using?
Oh, you are a better Mia Mom than I am - I won't let her sleep on my lap when I am stitching. She either squeezes in next to me on my chair ( and then her little ears are always twitching as my floss tickles her), or she lays behind me.
I have Guarding Eden coming - its a great sampler. I looked at the border and decided not to stitch that one but pick another - it might be a PITA to change it, but we will see. Sorry about having to rip out a good chunk of it - I hate when that happens. But now that you got it straightened out, I wish you smooth sailing.
I like that checkerboard border - it's very cute! I missed the ATP World Finals. I know you were happy RF won.
Such a sweet picture of little Mia sleeping. Miss Kitty likes to curl up on top of my chart...
Glad you were able to fix the border it's looking lovely.
My cat likes to squeeze on my lap as well, I think she regards the laptop as her personal furry butt warmer!
Hi Margaret, I am so delighted you spent a wonderful Thanksgiving week-end with your family and Mia :-)
The borders are always a hard work for me too: I am always worried about making mistakes, taking off the stitches and stitching again : what a mess for me :-(
Good Luck on your counting !!!
Isa
Things have been hectic for a while now and I missed saying congrats on finishing your beautiful richmond sampler - it is just stunning - can't wait to see the framing you picked out. Glad to hear your holiday was good and yes it was Monday Monday for me too and has continued all week long with problems at work - urgghh- looking forward to Friday! Mel
Thanks for stopping by, Mia is such a cutie. I love how she just claims your lap LOL Very Sweet.
I always seem to miscount on my borders. But glad you fixed yours
small kisses for you my friend

Margaret, nice progress on that border !! Mia is so adorable. I bet she is warmer than a blanket :-) and..... aren't you glad today is Friday??
Mia is just too cute!! but really there is hardly any room for you to stitch.
Congrats on the Richmond Sampler finish - it is beautiful!!
Reverse stitching is not fun! Sorry that happened to your border, but I'll bet we see another lovely finish very soon.
