Another finish

It's finished!  It's the Snowdrift Shawl by Emily Foden using a kit of her lovely Viola Yarns plus some Shibui mohair for the borders.  I love it!  I still need to block it but for now I'll just cuddle it.

Had a busy weekend.  On Saturday, I went on a mini NYC Yarn Crawl -- only managed three out of 12 stores.  But seriously, I'm so bad at walking out of a store without buying something.  And I did enough damage at 3 stores!  lol!

We also managed to go to a broadcast of Live From Here at Town Hall.  It's no secret that I love Chris Thile!

And on Sunday, we went to see a matinee performance of To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway at the Schubert Theater.

It was so good, and so relevant to today's world.  I have to say it did justice to the book, although of course you should read the book!!

The Sunday before this past Sunday, we went on a dinner cruise on the Hudson and got to see this view.  It was to celebrate my sweet father type's 60th birthday.  (Which I managed not to post about on this blog.  Whoops!)  Happy belated birthday to my sweetie!

Mia was not thrilled by all the activity.  :D

Have a great week!

Mia looks very unimpressed Margaret. You made some very interesting yarn choices, I look forward to seeing what you knit with them.

Wow! You've had such a busy social life AND managed to finish a lovely shawl, Margaret! Happy 60th to your husband--looks like a fun celebration and how nice to see To Kill a Mockingbird. I would love that as it has always been one of my favorite books/movies.

Enjoy your yarn haul--can't wait to see what you'll be making next :)

You have been on the move! What fun.
Gorgeous yarns. Can't wait to see what you create with them. Your latest finish is breathtaking as always.
The Statue of Liberty gives me the chills. What a beautiful picture. My younger son and I went to the top in the early 90's (?). Older son got tired of waiting in line and did not. It was worth the wait!!!
Happy, happy birthday to your sweetie.
Hugs :)

Mia really doesn't look thrilled, lol. Lots of expression in that pose. Your yarn crawl sounds like lots of fun. I've never been to one but with the amount of yarn I have on hand currently, it's probably best I don't go to one. LOVE your shawl. The colors are perfect for this time of the year and I can tell my looking how soft it is. I love the shape of it, and the simplicity of the color and texture. I must check out that pattern.

Popped in from a mutual friends blog, always fun to meet new bloggers.

Wow. That's some fat stuff yarn on the left! For quick and easy projects that anyone can do??? I'm sure not.
