Last post for 2017

I thought I'd get a post done before the year is over.  I can't believe 2017 is almost over!!

So I am still working on the Wave Cardigan.  I have finally steeked the front of the cardigan and picked up stitches for the neckband.  This pic shows the two sleeves all finished.  Yay!

Both kids were home for Christmas, which is wonderful.  We had a nice time, and we had a white Christmas too!

And finally, a quick year in review.  Here are my finished pieces for 2017.

Firebirds by Alice Starmore.

Ilia by Michele Wang.

Tale as Old as Time cowl by Anne Vally.

I often wonder if I will get back to stitching or quilting.  We shall see!  I do worry that my eyesight won't hold up to stitching anymore...

Mia was not best pleased about Christmas.  She never is.

Here's to a happy, healthy, and a better 2018.  Happy New Year!

Your work is remarkable! I'm so impressed. I noted that you have a sampler from Nouveau Encore on the wall - it's amazing! I have one from her as well, and it's the only cross-stitch that my daughter wants from me. Lovely!

You are a remarkable knitter...so very talented! Beautiful colors on this treasure...please share the finish. Wonderful pics of your beautiful family. I spied a great jacket on your DD. I had a friend, when I lived in Virginia, who had the same in hot pink. I always admired it and one day she gifted me one just like it. Her mother sent one for me from China (Taiwan, actually). I loved that jacket!!! Such a sweet friend!
Hope you are staying warm!

This is such a cold winter. How prescient of you to get serious about knitting to be ready for this! Your work is so outstanding, beautiful and functional!

Lovely holiday photos and so nice to spend the time with your family.

Have a very Happy New Year!

Your knitting is amazing! I totally understand about the eyesight and stitching--am stitching on a 40 ct linen and it is very challenging. Love the t-shirts for your children. Mia--she will be happy when everything and everyone returns to the daily routine.

Happy New Year! You must stitch again if it's calling to you-a good light and magnifier is all you need, and there's no shame in 32 count. Whatever you do, it will be gorgeous. Love your knitting, and the photos of your family and Mia.

I agree with Glenna there is no shame in 32ct - I'm THERE ! I am trying not to buy any more 36ct and 40 went out the door about 8 or 10 years ago. Your knitting for 2017 is just stunning Margaret! that Firebirds amazing. All great pieces and your Marie Wallin blanket - WOW - just WOW! glad you had the kids home for Christmas and it was a white one (I know you are not enamored with the snow) I hope you have a wonderful new year and spend it doing what you love no matter what choices you make - you have to be happy! Wow! What a year you had, Margaret--I so enjoyed seeing your incredible knitting finishes for 2017 and can't wait to see what 2018 brings (although, selfishly, I'm hoping that stitching truly is calling your name!).

So glad both kids were home and that you had a white Christmas. It was so strange without our oldest and his wife home :(

Wishing you a creative stitchy/knitting new year in 2018!

You've finished that incredible blanket and you're zooming through another beautiful, intricately-designed sweater! I can't say enough good things about your knitting - you are amazing!! So nice you had both the kids home for Christmas (that's great, isn't it?) and it looks like you all had a lovely time.

About your concern that your eyes might not be up to stitching any more - not sure if you've ever tried this, but several years ago I simply *could not* see to stitch - devastating! Then for some reason I thought to try a pair of drugstore cheaters over top of my progressive bifocals and - with the addition of a strong LED lamp - now I can see that 35-count fabric again.

Um ... would you like to trade white Christmases? ;)

You must have been so pleased to have the kids home over Christmas. For me it's always great when my kids can make it and don't have other plans. But if they do, it's OK as well.
Wonderful to see your sweater and shawl parade - and that blanket is just stunning. You're such a talented knitter, Margaret.
I'm sure that one day you will take up stitching and knitting g again. There are always magnifiers :)))
Have a happy and healthy year of 2018.

I envy you your white Christmas! Your blanket is amazing. So glad you had family together for the holiday, though expect Mia is glad to be back to 'normal' and quiet.
