Vertigo

This morning I suffered a bad bout of vertigo.  Ugh.  I did the Epley maneuver several times and that helped, but all day I've still been feeling weird.   A blogging friend  (thank you!!!!) sent me an email telling me to Google "Colorado doctor half somersault."  It turns out to be a new technique to treat vertigo.  If you ever experience vertigo, these exercises work!  Not perfectly -- I'm still not back to normal yet -- but they work well enough that you don't suffer anymore in comparison.  There are videos on Youtube for both.

Anyway, since I can't stitch or do much else (even reading seems to make me motion sick), I decided to write my blog post.

Here is His Eye.  I'm actually down to the last motif, the big flower next to the deer that goes in the corner.  The deer and the big bird are done. But with my vertigo I haven't taken a picture of that.  So you'll have to be satisfied with this picture, the last one I took.

Here are my fussy cut star halves (I'm doing half stars to fill in the sides of the quilt) for the week.  One is a mystery fabric and the other I forget.  lol!  It's by Me and My Sister Designs though.

We got our boy child back home for Christmas break on Friday night.  Hooray!  (Father type was being silly....)

And Saturday evening, the girl child came home for a few hours in between events on her busy social calendar.  So we got to decorate the tree as a family for the first time in  years.  Yay!

(decorating the tree stump for this year)

If you want to read about our tree stump collection, go here.

We had a good time, and it was so nice to get the kids to pose in front of the tree like old times.  Although they are a lot bigger than in the old days.  lol!

Mia was not very contented with the goings on.  She even attacked the man bun.

Silly cat!

I made it through this post!  Hopefully I will feel normal tomorrow.  Fingers crossed!  Seriously, I'm a lot better now than before, so it's not bad.  Thank goodness for those techniques!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Christmas!

VertigO is the worst! I think that one fabric looks like a Sweetwater print? So nice to have your children home. Two out of three will be here for Christmas Eve at my house. Hope you feel much better tomorrow.

Hi Margaret,
I like your beautiful blog!
After I looked at your work with " His Eye is on Sparrow" sampler I purchased the chart.:)
Can you please let me know what size of 40 ct. linen fabric did you use for this sampler? As I understood I have to purchase 1 full yard of 28 ct.? And I am not sure what size of 40 ct I would need?
Thanks!
Elena

Lovely stitching and love the photos of the family. I have had vertigo for years and keep meclazine on hand. It is an over the counter product and not expensive.

My girlfriend also has vertigo attacks from time to time and I'll tell her about the half somersaults. I hope they helped you and you are feeling a lot etter today.

Great family pictures indeed. And wonderful progress on your sampler. I'm so curious to see how the star quilt will progress.

Ugh... I've had vertigo from time to time too... no fun. I'm always surprised at how common it is. I'll check out that technique..not one that I've tried.

Looks like fun to have the kids around to make merry. Have a great holiday!

I'm so glad. I have a chronic gastrointestinal illness and people are always giving me (pretty bad) advice so I'm always hesitant to offer medical advice. But I had JUST read that story and wanted to tell someone! :-)

Oh Margaret, I sure hope you get feeling better real soon !! No stitching or reading would be torture !! Your progress on 'His Eye' is amazing. I have really enjoyed watching (and drooling over) your progress. So glad your family was together to decorate the tree and enjoy the festivities. And of course Mia…playing with the 'boy bob' … how much fun is that?

Merry Christmas to you and yours !!

Oh, dear--what a time to get vertigo, Margaret. I only had an attack once, but ended up in the hospital. Once was enough!! I hope your feel much better very soon.

And now, you truly are almost done with that lovely piece--I think a happy dance will be coming next week :)

Love the photos of the kids playing in front of the tree and the annual Christmas stump idea is so nice...

I do hope you are soon feeling better. So lovely to see your photos of the children having fun together - that's what Christmas is all about - family and love! And of course it wouldn't be a proper post without a photo of Mia - the most gorgeous little cat.
Hope your Christmas is filled with much more fun and laughter.

gosh Margaret - I'm so sorry to hear you have vertigo to deal with. Glad you are somewhat better - don't guess you can manage knitting either. I loved seeing the photos of your kids - they are such handsome young adults now. I know you are so glad to have them home for Christmas - as Dorothy says - "there's no place like home" -
Hope you have a wonderful holiday and you feel better soon - Mel
