Adventures

Here is my progress on His Eye is on the Sparrow for this week.

Now I know how wide it will be at least!

I like this middle part.

Here is my fussy cut star for the week.  I used the raccoon fabric from the Acacia collection by Tula Pink.

This has been a very strange week.  My laptop broke down, but luckily it turned out to be something that wasn't too expensive to fix.  I took my laptop to the Apple Store on Wednesday and picked it up on Friday -- very speedy!

And then family members started appearing and disappearing.  My girl child came to spend the weekend with me.  She came partly to see a certain someone.

One of her neighborhood friends, with whom she's been besties since babyhood (14 (friend) and 6 (girl child) months old), recently had a baby of her own.  Which is wonderful, and is even more wonderful because it means girl child wants to see baby and mother and comes home more often.

Girl child and I also had a girls' night out.

with dinner and dessert too.

And in the morning, we had breakfast at our favorite diner.

While all this was happening, my father type left on an adventure.

He was only in London long enough to spend the night at a swank hotel, and then to see this in passing -- pretty literally.  (He was on a bus driving by.)

And he saw this, perhaps for slightly longer.

Lucky guy.  Then another flight to end up here.

And here.

Google is paying for a "team building" vacation for his group to Greece.  5 days of sun and sand, followed by a one day work meeting in London.  (They passed through London on the way to Greece and will go back to London for the meeting.)  Poor guy.  lol!  I think he's enjoying himself already.

Mia has been a bit unsettled by the changing of the family members.

But she got to enjoy a coffee high from the girl child

and has been doing a lot of this.

She loves lap time.  lol!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Always fun when borders are in place! Lookin' good.

Love how you got to spend quality time with your daughter. One of those "priceless" opportunities.

And what great perqs for a Google guy! I assume Google takes it out in sweat equity at some point!

Lovely stitching Margaret, this design is so appealing. It sounds busy with your family at the moment - neither wonder Mia is a bit confused:-) It looks a bit wet at Buck House - lucky husband getting to visit different places. Hi to Mia, cute girl.

Hi Margaret, the "Sparrow" sampler looks great...as does your fussy star. Love those. Such interesting fabrics. Nice for you and the girl child to have time together. And what a great "business" trip for the father type!

Oh, I had no idea that sampler was so wide, Margaret--what a beauty!! And how nice that you'll be seeing more of your daughter :)

I'm so envious of your husband--Greece is one place I've always wanted to visit!

That's a biggie! You're way ahead of others I'm watching. That first picture of Mia looks like it was taken after the coffee sips! Authentic Greek desserts and pastries are what I'll dream about tonight.

Gosh I love that sampler! I just wish it was smaller...for me I mean.

How lucky your husband is on his fun trip! I hope he gets you a nice pressie.

Lovely to see your daughter, her friend and the sweet baby. Does that get you thinking of becoming a grandma one day? ;-)

DH trip sounds just wonderful. Only drawback is all this air travel with this Ebola scare. Glad you got to spend some time with DD. That spinach omelet looks yum! your Sparrow sampler is sure moving along at your typical lightning speed. I love it ! hope you have a good and non-strange week - Mel

The Sparrow is looking lovely Margaret :). She's a big one isn't she.

What a pity that you couldn't squeeze into Dave's suitcase. He could leave you in London while he is in Greece and pick you up on the way home. I'd hate to see your luggage going home though :). You would have loved it there. Hope he brings something lovely home for you.

Team building in Greece - that must be hard! :) I hope he has a great time. I know that while you miss him, it must have been pretty special to have 1:1 time with your daughter.

Such great progress on your sampler, it's definitely a huge one with very beautiful motives.

You never seem to get bored with your family, some in and some out, lol. Hopefully your husband is having a good team building time in Greece.

When the top picture of "His Eye Is On the Sparrow" loaded and I saw the whole thing, it took my breath away. What a spectacular piece! The Fussy Star reminds me of the paintings of Ohio wildlife artist Charlie Harper. He used to joke "Other artists count the number of feathers on the wings; I count the number of wings."

Love that sampler and all the family news. Poor mia! Sylvia has been in a bit of an odd mood. Restless and nervous and she took a pretty good swipe at jack.
