Stitching and TUSAL

Ok, I'm feeling the summer blahs.  What a creative title I've come up with this time!  Oh well.

Here's SDW so far.

Pretty, huh?  The chapel proper isn't filled in with white yet.  In case you're wondering why it looks funny.

I think the chapel is my favorite part though.

These flower motifs are so huge!  Took forever!

And the white fill in on the chapel is going to take even more forever.  lol!

It's the first of the month (how did that happen?!).  So here's the next picture of Ann Wheatley for August.

I love the blues in the piece, don't you?  I'm leading the SAL for Ann Wheatley for the Attic.  The third part of the SAL is being sent this month.  And then the last month will have Adam and Eve!  Yay!

The new moon was on July 30, so another TUSAL to show.

My ORT jar always looks the same, doesn't it?  I wonder if I should start keeping the ORTS for the month in something else and add it to the year's jar.  Hmmmm.

Oh, and yes, that's another of my pincushions.  This one was made by Jennifer Murphy.  I love her work!  Love her mom's work too.

Mia used to "help" all the time when I changed the sheets on our bed.  Now she just desultorily helps once in a while.  But this past time, she did decide to take advantage of the dirty sheets I had piled on the floor.

She took a nice snooze in them, all comfy and cozy.

Silly girl!

Like I said, I can't believe it's August 1!!!  Argh!  Have to admit, I'm not ready for school to start!  Luckily it doesn't start around here till after Labor Day.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope you all have a great week!

Oh those SDW colors are just delicious!
And your pin-cushion is adorable, but not close to as super-cute as Mia! (All the sudden I feel the urge to take a nap... ;-))

The chapel is nice...but I'm loving that floral motif. Not sure whats cuter, your kitty or the pin cushions. Someday I'm gonna have to have one of the Murphy cushions...Thanks for all the temptations ;-)

I love those flower motifs in SDW! I can imagine them being tedious but they are gorgeous. You're really moving along on Ann too!

The dog days of August - that must be why I feel like I don't quite belong in my own skin, LOL.

Love your stitching (always!!) and the delightful pics of Mia. Our cats have no interest in bedding changes, but clean laundry brings them out of the woodwork and if I'm not careful, my clean laundry is soon hairy enough to start a new cat!

SDW looks fabulous. At least you've gotten to a part of the sampler you love the most, which should help with the blahs.
Love, love, love you're pincushion.
Mia is as adorable as ever.

I like the chapel and now you have easy stitching - the kind I do when I can't quite focus...my fav part is the flower motif you showed up close!

This year my son will be a freshman at the local community college...we are both excited for the new change of education...that and he's 18 in a couple weeks!

Mia is no longer a kitty - when did she grow up so fast? Love the pic of Mia and your son!

Wonderful progress on SDW! It must be another huge sampler. And Ann is also coming along very nicely and you are almost done with her, aren't you? Say hi to silly girl Mia from Limo :)

Your stitching is gorgeous Margaret, the chapel is beautiful. I know what you mean about the time going so quickly, I can't come to grips with the year being half over already but I'm happy that we're in the last month of winter....YAY!! Roll on spring...

Your going crazy on SDW!!! It's amazing! and although those flower motifs are big and take a while! Let me assure you, they are well worth it, cause they're gorgeous! Enjoy these last few weeks of summer!

Oh, look away look away, another cute pincushion! Yes, you will have to show your entire collection soon - maybe end of the year?

All your stitching, as usual, are beautiful. You just zip through them! I'm always so amazed!

So you're feeling a bit 'blah' - hmmm I think you need to start another new sampler !! Honestly, you are amazing with the amount of stitching you get done. Those large samplers are a bit too daunting for me. They are both looking great and such different colours too.
Mary
Mia and her boy - so cute.

Wonderful progress on a most beautiful sampler!!! Great job, Faye

Both of your samplers look awesome. The flower motif on SDW is stunning. That would have taken me ages to do.
Love the picture of Mia and the bedding. Reminds me of Berend, a cat of ours who loved to do that too.

Oh Margaret, SDW is a real commitment! That thing is huge! Between that and your work on Ann, how do you have time to wash those sheets???

You are soooo fast - Lovely samplers ;)

The sampler is beautiful - I love the colors.

Mia always cracks me up - she does look very comfy, cozy, curled up on the sheets. I finally got through all the company sheets & towels - today is the last load!!

Great pics Margaret! Love the ones of Mia. She's so pretty. And grats on all that progress on Ann. I especially love that color of green in the chapel roof. Some boring stitching for you now, to fill in all the white. At least it's not white on white. UGH!! Love the colors in the flower motifs too. Lovely! I don't know where July has gone. It was just July first, and now it's August first! Geez, does time fly...

SDW is gorgeous!!!!!! Hope you aren't feel quite so blah this morning.

What gorgeous work, Margaret. That flower to the right of the church might have driven me to drink! It is gorgeous, though. Your Ann is wonderful as well.

Always love the pics of the BC and Mia.

Your WIPs are lovely! And your idea of "forever" is very different from mine, lol...

SDW is looking amazing! I love the church, what a difference that adds to the piece. And Ann is lovely as well, the blue really makes the piece I think. Romeo used to be my helper when I made the beds or changed the sheets. Hard to do with a cat in the bed!!

Gorgeous samplers! Mia sure loves her boy!

Such gorgeous samplers!! I always love your WIP in progress pics. I particularly love the flower motif. :)

Solstitches said...

Wow! Both of your WIP's are just stunning.
I had to smile at you saying the flowers on SDW took forever as I am sure I don't know of anyone who can stitch faster than you.
That pincushion is rather lovely so I am going to check out the link you gave.
Love the pics of Mia in the bag - so very cute.

Both Samplers are looking STUNNING! Some of those motifs in SDW would have made me cross-eyed, bad tempered and probably driven me to drink ;)

Sweet Mia and her handsome boy :)

I love SDW, Margaret !! I think the colors are beautiful and my favorite part is the chapel also.
Ann is gorgeous too !!

Margaret, your work is gorgeous as always. I love the flower motif to the left of the steeple. Looks like all of that stitching on the chapel would be the perfect thing to do while watching tennis, but the next big match is a month away and I'm sure you'll have it done before then!

I've had some trouble commenting on blogs so forgive me for not making comments on your last couple of posts. I think the problem has been resolved!

YGG!! Your progress is simply amazing on both SDW and ANN. Incredible!! You do such beautiful work :) Just got my ANN in the mail, the colors are exquisite, I am going to have to add that one into the rotation now. I cant even!!!!!!! Keep up the outstanding job.

Love, love, love your stitching... Love, love, love your BC and Mia !!

SDW looks wonderful, Margaret! You made quite a bit of progress on it last week. Love the flower bouquets. And Ann Wheatley looks good also. So much small little lettering on it!

And of course, what can you say to Mia but that she is such a cutie!

Good lord, I can never get over how golden-orange Mia's eyes are! I feel like I have never seen their like before--or is it just her white that sets them off so strongly? :)
