Stitching away, school

Well, I reached the point that I wanted to reach on Rebecca Robinson before I put her down for a while. The top portion is done. I just have the bottom portion below the houses to go.

I'm having such a hard time not picking her up to work on!

But you see, I'm getting behind on the Sail Away SAL. The next assignment for weeks 5 and 6 came out, and I hadn't even started the 4th week's assignment. So put Rebecca down I must. And I did. I just put the last stitches into the 4th week's assignment -- involving those dreaded over one letters. Now I just have to do the next big assignment! But that one should be fun -- it's the actual landscape part of the piece.

In other news, school started this week for the boy child. It's going to be a huge adjustment sleepwise for him. He's turned out to be very much like his sister -- in other words, a night owl. So going back to getting up at 6am in the morning is not going to be easy! For that matter, it won't be easy for me either, even though I am much more of a morning person than he is. I'm not a morning morning person though. 6am is tooooo early!

The girl child won't be back at school till next weekend. We will be taking her back to college on the 12th -- and she won't begin classes till the 17th. It will be so weird not to have her around again after a summer of her being at home.

The US Open is going swimmingly, with wonderful weather. We're enjoying that weather up here as well -- I love it! The best part about US Open coverage this year is that they are offering free online live streaming on 5 courts -- how cool is that? I'm a happy camper. :D

Enjoy the three day weekend, everyone in the States. Labor Day Weekend usually means school is about to start. I guess it's sort of nice to have school already started. Maybe. I think I prefer school starting after Labor Day though.

TGIF! Thanks for stopping by!

I can't get used to school starting before Labor Day. It just seems so weird. I'm getting old, obviously. LOL. Loving your WIP progress!

Margaret your Rebecca is BEAUTIFUL. I just love the colors as they are so vibrant. And look at you on our SAL. I HAD to make myself do all the over 1 words and now I'm right there with you. These next 2 assignments will be the most fun. Have a great Labor Day stitching and watching the US Open!! HUGS

Margaret - what can I say except that it's beautiful. You've made so much progress, but I'm surprised that the border didn't drive you nuts!

Good progress on the SB Sail Away too. I know what you mean about that over one stitching, but there's not much of it so it will go quickly.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

I have been visiting your blog the last couple days. I want to do a sampler but just can't decide which one. You certainly inspire me.

Margaret, your work is absolutely beautiful. I find it so difficult to keep my stitches even on linen which is why I am using Aida. Well done and I am inspired by you! Any tips on working with linen would be appreciated...

Oh, so sorry that you are having to put down a project you love. I'm feeling the same, and I'm working on those dreaded over-one letters right now. Thanks for helping me see, that I can get through it. I'm really glad we are doing this as a SAL, because I'm afraid it would go back in my drawer until summer. I'm itching to do something Fall'ish.
Your Rebecca is wonderful! You are an amazing stitcher.

Hi Margaret - I thought of you tonight - we are on our trip and I saw Venus on TV at the US Open and I thought " oh I bet Margaret is going to have stitchy butt watching tennis all weekend" good for you getting caught up on our Sail Away SAL - I'll get back on mine when I get home. I found a fabulous yarn shop on the way to our destination and bought some awesome yarn for a jacket so all I've done is knit knit knit. Your Rebecca is stunning - enjoy your holiday weekend and the tennis and having the kids home with you. Mel

Your Rebecca is BEAUTIFUL, Margaret! You are zooming right along on her. Your Sail Away is fabulous, too. It is such a pretty sampler--love the saying on it.

Urgh, school mornings come way too early, don't they?? Enjoy your weekend--try to get some extra shut eye in the morning!

Rebecca is just gorgeous, Margaret! Your SA is coming along nicely as well and I'm proud of you for not just zipping!

I dread those back to school mornings ~ our youngest son needs a blast of dynamite to get him out of bed.

Enjoy your weekend!

Your sampler is gorgeous and great progress on Sail Away. I'm still on Part 3 myself but hoping to get that wrapped up today and start Part 4. Isn't is a fun stitch?

Rebecca and Sail Away are both looking wonderful. I am much more of a morning person than a night owl. Early to bed, early to rise has always been my way of life.

Rebecca is just too lovely. Those large urns beside the house along with the border really make this a stunning piece. OOOOOOHHHHHH NNNNNOOOOOO!!! I feel another shopping desire attacking me. Thanks a lot Margaret. It's starting to cost me money to visit your site....hahahahaha

Hi Margaret,
Yes I agree with Stitchin Sweet Sue. Everytime I see this sampler, it gets more lovely every day. It think it is the yellow flowers that make it look so lovely.
Your Sail Away piece will be finished in in time.
Hope you had a lovely 3 day weekend. I think that there should be more of them lol. - Sandra.
