Rambling

I've been stitching away on a new project but have neglected to post any pictures. Here she is in all her unfinished glory, Frederika by Carriage House Samplings.

I love the fall colors! But boy, the border takes a lot longer than you would think! I'm using the recommended NPI fibers and linen (40ct Vintage Pearled Barley).

I also neglected to post the latest picture of my Sail Away. I desperately need to finish it up -- I have only the last lines at the bottom to do.

How many of you are excited about market this weekend? Do I hear a chorus of "me me me!" I know I'm excited! I can't wait to get my hands on so many things, which is not good news for my pocketbook! Ah well.

In other news, I have a few pictures from the father type's birthday. The boy child was good enough to take the pictures.

I should have bought those number candles for the cake to say 50, but I didn't, so I just put 5 candles on instead. Here's an action shot. :D

And then the boy child decided to see how bright the flash was by turning it directly on himself and his eye. Here's the result on camera.

The result for his eye was some blindness for a few minutes. lol! Silly boy!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Hi Margaret, what a funny guy your son is - cool picture.

Fredricka is just lovely - she and her mate are on my 'wish list'. The colors are just stunning and I'm sure even better IRL.

Enjoy your weekend.

Aren't teenagers the craziest people? Great picture - how long did it take where he could see normally again? LOL

I love Fredrika - those colors are really so rich! I guess that's another one I'll have to put in the ever-growing "want to stitch" pile.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Frericka is gorgeous, Margaret. I can see why the border takes so long, but it really is beautiful.

I'm looking forward to see what you end up with after your market purchases.

Frederika and Sail Away look wonderful. You've been a busy girl. Isn't it amazing how the most beautiful borders take way more time than we think they will?

So happy the birthday celebration was fun. Fifty is nifty.

Fredericka and Sail Away look great! I'm in love with both! I am dying to see everything that came out at Market. I'm trying to resist though. Already planning to stock up for two BAPs...I don't need more projects! But really...who can resist?! haha :)

I just knew you must be stitching on something wonderful and you are! Frederika and your Sail Away are wonderful - I could not seem to get on board with Sail Away with all my distractions in Sept. Hope hubby had a fine 50th - Mel

Looks like a great birthday celebration!! :)

Your Frederika looks fabulous, Margaret. YGG! I can't wait to get stitching on mine--hopefully this year. I love the colors in it. Your Sail Away looks awesome, too!

Frederika is just beautiful. One day I will have to stitch her. And when you say the border took longer than you'd expected, I think that's telling me something - you of the smokin' needles!

Sail Away is wonderful too.

Yes, I'm excited about the market but learned my lesson with Nashville. I will just sit back and enjoy seeing them online since I can't run to a store to get them. Hope you have lots of fun shopping the new things!

Fredericka is looking great! The colors are so pretty. Your DH looks like he enjoyed his cake and your son - what to say except boys can sure be goofy - interesting pic, though!

Gorgeous WIPs, Margaret - the colours on Fredricka are really beautiful, as is you stitching as always!

I really, really hate to be the wet blanket but... please try to impress on your son that he shouldn't pull stunts like that with his eyes. That one was probably harmless, but it's way too easy to do permanent damage to your eyesight to take unnecessary risks.

And yes, I'm looking forward to my new market stash :-) My credit card, on the other hand, is not.

Happy belated birthday to your other half, Margaret!

I've been away for a while, but I enjoyed catching up with you, and looking at all the breathtaking pictures of your projects. Your Mary Beale Advent is sooooo beautiful! I would love to stitch that one some day, but it will probably take me an entire lifetime :o)
Frederika is a beauty!
