September?!?!??!!!!

I know everyone is saying it, but OMG!  I can't believe it's September!  I heard the first school bus go by last week and just couldn't believe it.  Time is going too quickly!  Anyway, this is going to be a summary of what's been going on.  I don't even know what the last thing was that I talked about here!

First off, here is my finished Vanora sweater.  It's a pattern from the Brooklyn Tweed Ganseys collection, designed by Michele Wang.  I used Brooklyn Tweed Loft in the Fossil color.  And I love it!  What with my gauge and the size I knitted, it ended up being the perfect size!

Another thing that happened is that the boys got haircuts!

Their hair has grown since, but they are still looking good!

Various other things have happened, but probably the main one was going to Maine with my sister and her family and my father and stepmother.  I'll just show some pictures of our time there.

And no, the little tiny kitten isn't ours.  It's my sister's family's new kitten, Aladdin.  He's so cute!

The boy child ended up turning right around the following week after our vacation and going back up to Maine (albeit a different part of Maine) with his good friend.  Here they are before they took off.

Later on during August, the father type treated the two kids to a concert down in Coney Island.  I think they had a good time!

(The makeup on the girl child was done at the concert.  Very interesting!)

Needless to say, Mia is happiest when we are all home.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Or month, as the case may be.  :D

I'm so impressed with your sweater, Margaret-the design and fit are perfect for you!! Really loved the Maine photos, too--it brought back such nice memories of my honeymoon. I remember how cold it was back then, even though it was July!! Probably not that way this summer, though :)

Hope your September is off to a great start--I am shocked at how quickly this year is speeding by, too!

What a great August! The sweater is fantastic. Who would believe anyone could knit something like through the August heat! You are really ready for a cool-down now.

The Maine trip photos make it look wonderful!

Can't wait to see whats on the needles next.

I haven't been to Maine in 35 years. You've made me want to go back! Did they see The Avett Brothers?

You must have spent a wonderful time with your family in Maine. Thanks for sharing the pictures from there. And quite obviously there are shops for knitters everywhere :))) Did you buy something?
Great family pictures.

Your sweater is pretty! I always enjoy seeing your latest knitting project. Sounds like you had a great time in Maine. We were in Manhattan KS over the Labor Day weekend and I thought of you and your family connection to the town.

WOW - I love your BT sweater - I've been wanting to do a gansey for a long time and of course try some BT yarn. I was in a restaurant last night with my mom and DH and saw the US Open still on and thought of you of course! Can't say I love your DS haircut - I like it long better especially on a young guy. My DH is wearing his hair short for a while now and I've adjusted to the look. Shows off his gray nicely LOL! loved seeing the photos of family and Maine - hope you continue to enjoy September - fall is coming - what are you knitting now? have a great weekend

You've certainly been busy Margaret, I enjoyed seeing the pics. Mia is such a teddy bear and I would definitely encourage both "boys" to keep their hair short as they very much suit it. The summer has just disappeared.

What a lovely sweater Margaret. My sister has been to Maine a couple of times - Acadia National Park and that area. Our great grandfather was born in Unity Maine and I'd like to go back sometime.
