Rowe is a finish!

I had to post early for this.  A finish!  My Rowe, designed by Michele Wang and in the Brooklyn Tweed Fall 2014 Collection.  I knit it in the Flannel colorway using Brooklyn Tweed Shelter.

I'm so pleased with how it came out!  And yes, I even enjoyed knitting all 422 stitches of 8 inches of ribbing around the collar and front!

Week before last, the father type and I had a Google Christmas party to go to!  It was a party for all the tech people working at Google NYC, so it was big.  Before meeting up with the father type, I headed over to Bryant Park, just to get into the holiday spirit.

Then it was time to meet the father type and head to the party!  It was at the Waldorf Astoria.  Very nice!

We left the party when it started getting too crowded for us old fogies.  Such party poopers!  When we picked up our coats from the coat check to leave, there was a long line to check coats in.  The party was just getting started....   but not for us!  :D

Last night we picked up our boy child for Christmas vacation.  Yay!  We have him home for a whole month!!

Maybe Mia will have time to forgive the boy child for leaving her all the time....

(Did you notice that father type got a haircut?  Look closely at those pics above...)

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season.  It's almost winter!  Enjoy!

Margaret. Margaret Margaret Margaret. Is there anything related to handwork that you can't create with perfection? Your sweater is just fabulous. Looks like that shindig was fabulous too. I like your guy's new haircut and am glad you have an entire month with your son. New York looks amazing. Merry Christmas to you all.

That sweater is amazing and marvelous! You are going to be warm and well-dressed this winter!

How lucky you are to go to such a lavish holiday party. You get great side benefits from your husband's job. Was IBM that generous with parties?

Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy that time with your baby boy.

Wow, I love your gorgeous sweater!!!! I am still stuck on knitting scarfs but wish I was as skilled as you are so that I could tackle more advanced projects.
I love Bryant park…in the summer. :-) Thanks for sharing NCY pics. With a son and DIL living in the upper west side you would think I would visit the city more. I wanted to make it in to see the Christmas tree and lights but I'm leaving for CA on Monday so I don't think I will make it in.
Lucky you to have your son for a MONTH. I remember those college winter breaks! Enjoy your time together.

Looks like a fun party!

Merry, merry Christmas to you and your family.

The sweater is beautiful!! A whole month with the BoyChild--Mia will be beside herself. My Dad would say can't soar with the Eagles when you hoot with the owls--I'm not a party animal either

Glad to see an update from you Margaret - that sweater is awesome and looks like it was a lot of work! Lucky you and your DH getting to go to a holiday party at the Waldorf-Astoria - I've never even been to NYC at all but hope to someday. It's another experience for you to put on your list that's for sure. Have a great holiday Margaret with your family!

Margaret, I love your Rowe! I have to say I like the thick ribbing too. I know it was a bear to get through but to my eyes it looks very worth it.

I always love to see the glimpses of your visits to the city! I haven't been to the city since I was a kid but I'd love to go back when everything is decorated for Christmas and see all the window displays and other decorations.

I'm not much for parties these days either. Totally get why you left "early". Glad you're getting a nice long visit with your son!
