stitchy knitty empty nest again

I have a stitching finish!  Shocking, I know.  :D

Margaret Cottam Mystery Sampler by La D Da
called for threads and linen (except for linen being 40ct)

I'm so glad I found this one languishing in my UFO pile.  I do love it!

I've also worked on my mitered square blanket, usually while watching the US Open.

I'm well into the 4th row now.

We had to say goodbye to the boy child once again -- time for him to go back to college.

I can't believe it's his last year of college.  How did that happen?  Here's to a good senior year!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a good week!

Hi Margaret! Your stitched Margaret is lovely. I seem to measure time by how fast our kids grow up. I can not believe your young man is already on his last year of college! Good luck to him! You have Mia to keep you company:)

Good for you on this finish. She is sweet.
I remember your son heading off to college for the first time. :)
I can just feel the soft fur of Mia. Sweet thing. Give a little hug for me.

Congrats on your beautiful finish! Is your son on a fast track? It can't have been 3 whole years already? This years's Women's Open was just too exciting! Poor Serena! Looks like it wore Mia out!

Senior year is bittersweet for the parents because you really don't know whether they will ever really be coming home to stay again. My son is in his last year of his PhD in Stanford 3000 miles away and my daughter is now living in Boston (a 4.5 hour drive away from us). We are truly empty-nesters. I love your sampler by the way.

I can't believe your son's a senior either. I remember complaining about my college roommate having a college age daughter--and now she's graduating too! Where does the time go?

Look at that little Mia hamming it up for the snap ! so cute. Wow - I cant believe your DS is in his senior year. Does he know what he wants to do with his life? is he pursuing a musical career? Love your Margaret Cottam - such a sweet little sampler. YEAH for a finish and your afghan is coming along. such great colors. Hope the US open is going your way. Have a great week ! Mel

What a pretty sampler! Cool that you share a first name, huh?

Pretty hard to believe your son is a sr. I feel like I must have been reading your blog forever!

Starting to cool off down here. That blanket will come in handy before long. Better keep those needles charged up!

There's no way he's been in college three years already!

MC looks wonderful! Your mitered square blanket looks great too. Each square feels like a finish.

Mia is turning into a total camera ham! How old is she now? If E has been in school 3 years, I'm guessing she is 4 or 5.

Oh, I see Mia is really into the camera thing now. She's posing. That's so cute!

I love your new stitchy finish. I have this in my stash and it will be one of the things I know I will stitch one day! (ha - there's always hope!)

Is it really the start of your son's senior year?? He's definitely gotten older, though I'm sure his mother hasn't.....

Love, love, love Margaret Cottom! I'm sure it feels good to have a bonus finish under the belt.

Beautiful sampler!
I made a stop at Webb Yarn in MA and now have a bunch of yarn....just need to decide what to make with it.
Wishing your DS a successful final year. I was always sad when my sons returned to school.
