Spring has sprung? Fingers crossed....

I started something new, from my stash, which is always nice.

This is the Guernsey Wrap from Brooklyn Tweed.  I'm using Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in the Soot colorway.  I love the woolen spun nature of the yarn, but I hate the flotsam that is still in the yarn as a result of the woolen spun.  I guess there are trade offs!

I didn't have to do much if anything in the way of chipping ice or shoveling snow this week.  My shoulder really really liked that.  lol!  So I added another fussy cut star to my very slowly growing quilt.

This week has been a huge contrast to the past weeks of winter.  The temps have been in the 40s and low 50s during the day and the snow and ice has been melting.  There is still way too much snow on the ground for my tastes, but at least we are seeing some pieces of ground here and there.

Another sign of spring is this.

My baby is home for spring break!  Hooray!

We are happy.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.  And that spring is here to stay!!

Guess you won't need anything made from that yummy, snuggly yarn til next year now. But it looks like it will make up into something very cozy.

Nice to see more progress on the quilt.

Have fun with your son on Spring Break!

It's lovely to think that Spring is more or less upon us - it's a good feeling.

I'm glad E is getting spring break. With all the snow in Boston I thought that might be in jeopardy.

It looks like you have a great start on your new project. Love the yarn and the pattern.

I won't tell you how hot it was here today....

Was surprised to see a Sunday post!

Glad you are getting to see some patches of ground with no snow. It reminds me of the commercial for Kings Charcoal - The man says it was all white & cold! LOL!!!

I'm with you, I hope spring is here for real. It's a positive sign that it might just be here when DS is on break. Enjoy your time together. The stars look great and I can't wait to see the new start grow. Have a good week!

Hi Margaret, yes, let's hope that Spring has arrived. Your quilt is going to be amazing...so colorful and unique. And, good that the boy is home again. Thought of you Saturday when I spent the day in NYC (dim sum and Purl Soho!!).

Ahhh, the baby is home. All is well with the world...at least for Mia! For you, you need the girl home then you'll get the complete set! lol.

Love the new wrap you've started - very nice! Glad you didn't have to shovel more snow this week! Hope it warms up for you!

LOVE LOVE your stashed Shelter for the wrap! I bet you will love it once it's completed. I always feel that when picking out the trash - you have to know that the wool was minimally processed which is good is most cases. Hope your DS has a great spring break and it really IS a spring break for you guys with the weather. It has launched right into summer here - no spring - it has been in the upper 80's for a few days now - I HATE it !!! where's my spring temps. Enjoy your week - Mel

Yes, our snow is melted (for the most part, too!!). Spring is surely just around the corner now, Margaret--I can imagine how happy you are not to have to shovel or chip ice. That gets old very quickly :)

Love, love, love your fussy cut quilt--it is perfection!! Enjoy your son's visit--I know Mia will :)

Staring something new is always a little feast for me as well and it motivates me anew.
Seeing some spots of the ground is always the beginning and I hope that the melting will take fast - although I guess it will take a while considering the amounts of snow I saw on your and other people's blogs.
