I love fair isle. Love these colors too!
I'm continuing to do English paper piecing on Fridays for a part of the day. I might work on more than Fridays, but for now I'm going to stick to Fridays. I've started attaching the white diamonds to stars. I am hoping to use a variety of fabrics, but we shall see.
When the stars are attached to each other, the white diamonds should form tumbling blocks of sorts.
Those of you who have followed my blog for a while know that our family tradition is to make dumplings on New Year's Day. No rest for the weary for us!
Preparing the meat.
Making the skins for the dumplings.
Stuffing the dumplings.
Cooking the dumplings.
Yum!!
The kids went to hang out with friends for New Years Eve. They had a bit of bonding time at home too, which is great!
Stolen from the girl child's Instagram feed.
And of course, there is a boy and his cat.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week!

That fair isle stitching is incredible. I picture myself trying that and getting the colors (on bobbins?) hopelessly tangled. Yours is just perfect.

Happy New Year to you and your family Margaret. Thanks as always for the joy and inspiration you give all year. I really appreciate you, your blog and the time you take to post.
Your fair isle scarf is so beautiful! I think it looks so complex to attempt. Mia's bed is so pretty. She looks happy to have her favorite boy around.

I love dumplings! Yum! I've never tried making them though.
Your fair isle project is coming along nicely. I've picked up an old WIP and working on it. It's so heavy so I don't get much done at once.
Happy New Year!
Your scarf is beautiful!!!
Those dumplings look so yummy.
Great pics of the family.
Happy New Year!
Hugs :)

The more I see it the more I want to try :) and speaking of trying, would love to try those dumplings! lol Everytime you make them makes me want to run out and get them lol Hope you are staying warm, it is wicked cold out there this week. Looks like Mia has the right idea all curled up in her bed. Happy New Year!

The scarf is fabulous! Love colors. The star looks great. Looking forward to seeing everything put together.
Oh Margaret, your scarf just keeps getting more amazing as you knit. I wish I lived closer so I could come watch you work on it. I'm just so intrigued by this type of knitting.
That scarf is gorgeous!! Makes me want to learn to knit.
ahhhh the dumplings ! wish I had one right now. LOVE LOVE your fair isle scarf - you are such a bad influence Ms Margaret - I spent quite a bit of time going thru books and patterns and online after your last post. Surely I could find a scarf pattern not too taxing - I finally came to my senses and decided I did NOT need to start yet another knitting project right now. Hope the new year is starting off good for you and your family - Mel
Yesssss! Dumplings! NOM NOM NOM. I could eat a million. *gulp*
