Hornbook Bestiary by Scarlet Letter
using the AVAS silks and the linen from kit
Done in tent stitch and basket weave stitch over one on 35ct. linen
I did manage to leave the grass off of the zebra block. But I actually like how the zebra looks without it. And I wasn't about to go back and fix it. lol!
Here is my fussy cut star for the week, using the same fabric from the Blue and White collection by Michael Miller.
And here is Mia.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week!

Congrats on your huge finish! It looks very handsome!
I didn't realize until now that Mia has a black patch on her left paw (wrist?). Looks like a bangle! ;-)
Margaret, your hornbook finish is spectacular! I can't imagine doing something over 1 on 35 count!! I admire you! Another beautiful star to add to your collection. How many do you have now?
Absolutely amazing, Margaret, congratulations
Beautiful finish Margaret - congratulations! What SL sampler is next??? And, yes, how many stars do you have now? Mia looks so regal in that first picture...than a tad bit impish in the last - lol.
What a stunning finish! It is so lovely and that star is lovely too. Hello to sweet Mia looking adorable
Beautiful -- Hornbook Bestiary and Mia!! Congrats on the great accomplishment.
Margaret, that is so fantastic. There must be a billion stitches in that piece. I love how it turned out. Hope it makes it to the top of your 'to be framed' list.
What a terrific finish! The zebra looks fine, I wouldn't know it was missing grass if you hadn't told me. Your stars are gorgeous, I'm so looking forward to seeing them all together.
Wowwwwww so beautiful
Congrats my dear xx
Gorgeous. GORGEOUS! Over one on 35 count with that amount of stitches is phenomenal work. The colors are striking without being too bright. Gorgeous!

Beautiful, beautiful stitching Margaret! Congrats on another wonderful finish!
Your hornbook bestiary is so very lovely! And all done over one! Wonderful!
P.S. Furio is looking over my shoulder admiring your work and saying hello to Mia.
Wooohooo! It's finished and it's amazing! I love how tiny the stitches look. Tent stitching is where you dont go back and cross the stitch right? Anywho, each block was fun to watch you stitch and try to figure out what the names of those last creatures could be!! Hugs to silly Mia!!
Wow. I think that is a record time for stitching. It looks wonderful. I just love that color blue and still can't decide on a favorite animal. Those stars are amazing to me, I always enjoy seeing them. Mia is such a sweetie.
Mia looks like quite the little queen on her tuffet doesn't she .
Congrats on your beautiful finish ! what a pretty piece it is. On to the next - so what is next ??? enjoy whatever it happens to be. Mel
Congrats on the gorgeous finish Margaret. I'm going to miss seeing the updates.

I think Mia is the most photographed cat on the web. She always looks beautiful and so much personality!
Waiting for your next large project!
Margaret!! Another beautiful finish.
I love this style of designs but they are so much stitching.
That is a gorgeous star too. How many do you have left before you have a quilt?
