Cats and blankets

Here is my progress on the Red Deer Sampler.

And here is my fussy cut star for the week -- yet another Jo Morton Woodland fabric.

I also got a bit of knitting done.  After a false start and some swatching, I cast on for a sweater for the boy child.  It's a pattern called Cobblestone by Brooklyn Tweed.  I'm using Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in Plume.  (Boy Child likes purple.)

I won a lovely prize from Dawn of Collector with a Needle!  Dawn has been involved with a quilt exhibit at the Denver Art Museum.  She's been showing pics of the exhibit on her blog, and she gave away a copy of a book of the exhibit.  To me!!

She wrapped the book up in a lovely fabric which I believe is from that coveted Circa 1825 collection from In the Beginning.  Thank you so much, Dawn!  I love the book and wish I could attend the exhibit in person.

The girl child came up to spend Father's Day with her dad.  It seems every time she comes recently, she's used a certain blanket.  For some reason, this certain blanket has become a favorite with Mia.  Well, the blanket became a subject of contention this time around.

Mia decided that she would stake her claim to the blanket by sleeping on the blanket -- on the girl child.  She eventually won the argument.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  (Can't wait for Wimbledon next week!!!!)  I hope everyone has a great week!

You are a wonder! The colors in the red deer sampler are unbelievable. Love the "plum" sweater! Mia is a hoot...like the youngest child left at home while big sister and big brother go off into the world. Mr.MW is looking forward to some tennis next week. I was wrapped up in the NBA pay-offs...don't tell my friends in Miami, but I am so happy the Spurs won!!!
Have a great week,
Robyn

Can't believe the fussy cuts--they just get better and better.

Miss Mia (like Miss Callie Mae) knows how to get what she wants. Have Mia and the girl child made friends?

I'm not surprised that Mia prevailed!

The yarn looks like an eggplant color? I think it's going to be very flattering. Great color!

Every time I look at your beautiful works of art, I can almost hear my Visa card saying "cha-ching"! I need more stash like I need to gain ten pounds - but I am being so tempted by them now.... I don't think my life will be fully lived until I stitch at least one! :). :). :)

You did a great job on your quilt block! And what a gorgeous color for the sweater! I wish I could relax enough to knit ~ it makes me very tense. :) Quilting is another thing I wish I had the patience for ~ I bet there are some wonderful quilts in that book. That Mia brings a much needed laugh. I can see she was victorious in the end ~ your poor daughter. :)
