A Parrot has appeared -- and framing

A Parrot has appeared on my PLL.  He/she is a bit stripy on his/her body, but I still like him/her.

I finally remembered to put a quarter in for size reference.

Here's my fussy cut star for the week, using a fabric from the Vicksburg collection by Judie Rothermel.

This Saturday, I went to pick up my framing from my LNS.  I'm very pleased with the pieces.  I actually chose the frames for a change -- although I have to say it was just luck.  lol!

Here's the first piece.  The Mary Allen Sampler by Samplers Remembered.

I stitched this a few years ago -- finally getting around to the framing.

Frame detail.

And here's Dame's Boarding School by Examplars from the Heart.

It's hard to tell, but the frame has the perfect light blue to match that in the design.

Here's Mia enjoying my framing as soon as it touched down.

Silly girl.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!  Here's to NO MORE SNOW OR ICE!!!  Fingers crossed!  :D

I love to see all of your stitching! PLL looks beautiful. I have never stitched on 50/62 ct. linen. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen that count! Are you stitching over 2?

Great frames Margaret! And, love, love, love your latest star - fabulous. PLL looks excellent...so tiny compared to mine - lol.

I vote for no more snow or ice too! Even here in NC we got some bad ice and sleet last week.

Love the parrot. Putting the quarter in definitely shows off your impressive tiny stitching.

Margaret -- As always it is so wonderful to stop by your blog and see what you have been up to. LOVE your PLL sampler -- the colors are gorgeous and your framing is just WOW. You certainly picked the perfect frames. I have room at my house to hang them (LOL).

Have a great week!

I can see the blue in the frame - it complements your stitching beautifully!

I hope your weather improves significantly. We're supposed to be over 80 for today and tomorrow but pretty cool on Thursday. We've had a fair amount of rain here - probably at similar times that you've gotten sleet and snow.

Love the parrot. Not stripey to my eye at all. And each fussy cut star is prettier than the last. Quite a collection.

Beautiful framing on those samplers. Mia has very good taste!

I'm right with you for a warming trend. I so want to be able to say "Spring has sprung", but we aren't quite there yet.

Cannot believe the tiny stitches in that beautiful parrot! What an amazing sampler this is going to be. You did a wonderful job picking your frames and I have to say I love the "boarding school" sampler, having gone to boarding school myself. The colors in that one are so pretty and the frame is perfect. Our weather has been glorious and our trees are that wonderful green.
Have a great week,
Robyn

Pll gathers more and ore beauty, with each element you add. It's incredible how small it is. These must be really tiny stitches.
Great, your framed pieces. Will you show a picture when you hang them on your sampler wall?

What beautiful stitching and framing!'For some reason, I find the framing aspect so tough to do. I absolutely have to have the perfect frame, so I wind up with a box of unframed projects! (Sigh) One of my New Year;s resolutions this year is to get some of them framed.

I swear, Margaret, each of your stars is prettier than the previous one--that is going to be one amazing quilt at the end of the year :)

Lovely progress on your parrot and the frames you and your framer chose are perfect, as always :) You are going to have to build on an addition just to house all of those gorgeous framed samplers!!

I think I love each better than the last of your stars - and the colors are delish! Don't think I remember seeing Mary Allen, but she's beautiful, and both are framed perfectly!

Melanie said...

I think they are both great frames!!! You did a very nice job. Do you still have room the walls for big framed stuff? I'm running out of room, sadly, and still have SO MUCH left to frame. :(
