Finished! And sick of snow

I finished my sweater!

Knitbot Lightweight Pullover sweater -- with modifications
Bugga yarn from Verdant Gyphon in American Rubyspot
I did make some modifications to the sweater.  I knit it in a larger size and eliminated the body shaping, and I had to shorten the sleeves and make the decreases in the sleeves more quickly than written in the pattern since my sweater was knit to fit so loosely.  I also made the ribbing on the body and sleeves shorter than written in the pattern.  I love my new sweater!

It's nice and warm!

I made my usual Fussy Cut Friday star, this time using some fabric from Judie Rothermel's Peace and Unity collection.

And here are all my stars (seven!) so far.

A while back, my sweet friend Laurie of the My Little Corner of Iowa blog sent me a lovely package of wovens and plaids she didn't want.  Can you believe these lovely piles?

I put my favorite at the very top.  lol!  Thanks again, Laurie!  I hope I do justice to these fabrics!

We got quite the snow storm Thursday into Friday, along with so many others.  This is what we faced for the cleanup.

Thank goodness we have a snow blower!  (And yes, those porch walls are usually much more visible than in this picture.)

Here is Mia playing with her favorite ball since kittenhood.

And here she is looming over me on the shelf above the bed.

Such a funny girl!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!  I'm looking forward to more Olympics viewing!

I think this weeks fussy cut star is my favorite. I love how the center forms a flower!

It looks like you finished your warm sweater just in time for more snow! I hope you're staying warm and haven't lost electricity.

Your sweater looks wonderful. How much fun to see you wearing it even if I couldn't see your smile.

I'm with Jackie, I think this fussy cut star is my favorite.

Hopefully the snow will soon be over. So many of us have had a very long winter, haven't we?

Mia looks intimidating looming over you on that shelf! Beautiful sweater, way too much snow, my favorite (so far) fussy cut star.

We're having more snow today... it's never ending.

Such a lovely red sweater and perfect to wear now in your cold weather! Look at those icicles!

Another lovely fussy cut star!

Love your sweater. It looks so warm and cozy! The stars are beautiful, too. Nice of Laurie to share her "scraps." Stay warm and stitch away!

The stars look impressive when you see them together, each one is so neat. Your finished sweater will be ideal for this weather. Endless snow is so annoying as it limits what you can do - at least it does when we get it over here in Scotland. Mia made me smile in her last photo, she looks so cute all cuddled up.

What a great looking cozy red sweater. Love it. Those stars are gorgeous. I like them all. Please take a picture of your house in the summer when all that awful white stuff is gone. It looks adorable (the house, not the snow) mis is a character!

Mia is a character. Sheesh

You are so productive. That fussy cut star is awesome--can't wait until you start putting it all together. I have never seen so much snow! Spring 2014 is going to be highly welcomed.

I think Sochi could use some of your snow-- heck, I could use some of it in the Sierras! I'll trade you 15-20 degrees for it.

L-o-v-e the sweater! And now you have me all eager to try some fussy-cut-like adventures. Trying to figure out if I can make it work as a non-sew opportunity. :) Thanks as always for the inspiration!

Oh, it turned out beautifully, Margaret--looks so cozy for this brutal winter. BLECH--I am SO SICK OF SNOW!!! We had more last night and another school cancellations day. Those poor kids will be going to school through June at this rate...

Lovely stars--hard to choose a favorite. And what a lovely gift from Laurie--I know you'll put those fabrics to great use :)

Enjoy the rest of your week--hope you get that warm-up that is supposed to happen!

What a beautiful sweater! We have great weather for it too!
I love thos stars!

I still have not gotten out of my driveway! Tomorrow is the day I think. It is a miracle I have not fallen and broken my neck just getting out to the chicken coop!
ENOUGH of this already!
OK Next it will be the floods when all of this melts!

Krista said...

BEAUTIFUL sweater, Margaret!! It will keep you nice and warm in all this cold and snow! I love snow and i am even tired of it now, lol! Looks like you really got a boat-load of it. Hopefully we will all be melting a bit by the end of the week. :)

Brigitte said...

Oh my, you would be lost without a snowblower. I know that from my own experience because we don't have one and we often up to 15" snow - and we have a large space in front of our garage to shovel before we can get out of the garage.
Great, your finished sweater. And this colour looks so great on you. Perfect.
I'm very curious to see what you will make with these wonderful stars. And I have to admit that this last one is my favourite because of the center. Gorgeous.

Great you have a snow blower! What fantastic projects you worked on during the snow. Enjoys those plaids and stripes.

Your sweater came out great and cozy looking Margaret! Love it! Ugh...that's a lot of snow! I'd be worried those big piles would fall on me and I'd be buried under snow. See...CA girl has no concept of snow whatsoever except that I'd like a snow day so I can stay home and stitch! Stay warm!
