EF 1864 Sampler by Christy Schmitz & Vickie LoPiccolo Jennett from SANQ magazine, Summer 2011 40ct Vintage Sand Dune NPI called for |
This is what I've gotten done so far.
So pretty!
Here are a few pictures of the only child left in the house at the moment, Mia. Up to all sorts of things.
Mia's current favorite place to sleep (besides my lap). Yup, she's under there.
She's not actually interested in what I'm doing on the computer. She just wants me to stop doing what I'm doing on the computer. lol!
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week!

No wonder you were attracted to the sampler. The colors are fabulous. Mia such a funny girl. She may be more challenging than your two legged children
Great new start! Lots of great colors in that one. Miss Mia is super cute. Have a great week!
That sampler is stunning! Can not wait to watch your progress on it. Mia is a mess! They want what they want and are very determined those little fuzzballs of ours!
That's one big sampler of sunshine, that's for sure! It's nice to find a sampler that just fits your mood! I am once again, searching for mine!
Mia is cute. I wish my two were as cuddly. I think because they have each other they only "love" me when they want food or a good stroking!
Very pretty new start..the colors are so pretty..
Mia is super sweet..
Big hugs to all x
I can see why you were drawn to this design by the colours, they are very bonnie indeed - as is Mia of course.
Oooh I'm really like this new sampler you are working on. It's so bright and cheery! Ha! I love little Mia's paw stopping you from paying attention that that bright thing you always pay attention too...lol!
Oh this is one colorful piece. It would be a perfect stitch for a dreary day!!
Hugs to you and sweet Mia !!
The colors are beautiful! I look forward to seeing your progress.
That's how I pick mine sometimes. I love this. And the cow makes it extra special in my book. Love it!
Beautiful start on your sampler, Margaret! I love it!! Mia is so sweet!!!
Oh, that new sampler is just gorgeous! I can see why you were drawn to it. Looking forward or seeing it completed:) Mia seems to demand attention. I wonder why cats are always drawn to hinder ones work...
I have to agree, it's all about color for me too. Love the pansy wreath in that one. I can't wait to see you stitch that part. Love the velcro kitty! Have a good week!
Looks like a bright and cheerful sampler, Margaret! A nice sampler to get you through the gray month of November :)
What an ambitious piece you have picked this time! Wonderfully colorful!
Have a great week,
Robyn
Wow! Love this sampler. You're right...beautiful colors.
I get such a kick out of your snaps of Mia :) One of our kitties (a flame point Siamese) loves to be covered up like that on the bed. When he gets hungry in the afternoon he comes in the computer room and taps me on the arm to let me know he's ready. Don't ya just love 'em??
Wonderful new start Margaret. The colors in this one are stunning. Love the pic of Mia on your lap.
Linda
Love the bright, cheerful colors. Your sampler looks fantastic!
I can't wait to see the animals at the bottom stitched up. What a gorgeous pattern.
ooOoo! The colors are scrumptious in this one aren't they?
I'm finding that about the colors too. It seems the brighter, the more I like it. This one is wonderful and I especially like the girl milking the cow!! Laura
Looks like you've gotten along fairly well! That one always catches my eye, too. Mia's looking for a snuggle-up place. Wish I could find one, too!
Oooh, I love EF! Can't wait to watch your progress.
Another cow, Margaret???
And this one is being milked!!
The whole crayola box is in that one! It's beautiful and looks like a lot of fun to stitch.
EF is so pretty , what a great choice for your next sampler. That Mia - isn't she a bad girl trying to get all your attention.
Have a great week! Mel
I'm sure the bright colors in this one caught your eye immediately - so very you!

I love MIA< I have been trying to get DH on board to get a cat. I will have to show him more pictures of Mia to prove to him that cats are awesome.
Have a great night!
The colors are to 'dye' for! Ha-ha. I love the leaves, the alphabet, the purple wavy thing. Miss Mia is too darned cute!
What a beautiful array of colors! Cannot wait to see this one progress. I'm working on Violet's Blue which is mostly muted tones, so seeing your piece will be quite different from mine.
Very ambitious woman! Beautiful colors....eye candy! Gotta love that Mia.
Oooh, I love that sampler. I remember I had this kitted up, because of the colours - and the cow!
Heehee, Pantoef is like your Mia, only he does follow everything that goes on on the screen: especially that little arrow that keeps flitting around :o)
Love, love this start! Such fun colors and a cow!!
Mia has a good life :)
Have a great week!
That sampler has been near the top of my Must Stitch list too Margaret! Beautiful!! Mia is playing Where's Waldo?
I understand the thing with the colours very well. I'm exactly the same. When I see a sampler or a quilt with different reds and pinks I always think I must make them. Great start on this vibrant sampler you chose!
I love the picture of Mia draped over your arm. There's a saying about the cat being a cross between a lion and a monkey; I think she's deep into monkey phase on this one. As for enjoying colorful samplers - why not? We humans have some of the most color sensitive eyes in the animal kingdom. What we lack in say, night vision or acuity (We can't see a mouse move from 300 feet aloft) we make up for in our sensitivity to shade and hue. So we may as well enjoy it!
Hi Margaret! I am thrilled to see you stitching this sampler. I have loved it from the first time I saw it on the cover of SANQ. I just started SL 'Maria Ignacia Olivera' which has very similar colors, and was fretting over the bright hues. Your stitching always inspires me, and so after reading this post I decided to put all my worries aside and just imbrace the beautiful colors ... thank you! I will enjoy following your progress on '1864 EF'. She is a pretty one and looks like a delight to stitch.
Yep! That's a lot of beautiful colors. And a bunch of cute kitty.
I am loving your stitches!!! Such fabulous colors!! Mia always makes me smile!
What nice bright colors! It will be fun to see this sampler as you stitch.
I think Mia needs another cat friend...I should bring Simon. He would match Mia's colors... LOL.
It's a lovely sampler - you're off to a flying start as always :-)
