I don't have much to show this week. I had some secret stitching to do (not model stitching), which took most of the week. And then I just knitted, adding some more rows to my Wearwithall Stole. Not enough to show, so I won't. Boring post, huh?
But I did receive a wonderful gift from a dear friend. Out of the blue, because she knew how desperate I was to take this class with Ellen Chester, but have never had the chance, she gifted me with her class kit for that wished for class!
It's the Needleworker's Sampler Huswif. It even has my friend's needlebook piece that she started in class! She also gifted me a couple of Quiltmania magazines that I didn't have. I was bowled over by my friend's generosity! Thank you so much, dear friend! I know I already said it, but I just had to say it again! I'm going to start this asap!
I'm still hoping Ellen Chester comes to my area to teach sometime. The one time she was teaching somewhat close to me, DS was having surgery so I couldn't go.
My friend also seemed to know just what to get for Mia.
See that green thing? It's a little toy bird that makes a tweety sound and has catnip in it and feathers on it. Mia loves it!
The girl child came home for a short visit this weekend, which was nice. She got to visit with her friends in the neighborhood as well.
Mia and the boy child:
Yes, the boy child is using Mia for a pillow. (Don't worry, he wasn't really. Mia wouldn't have allowed it!)
Mia was back to one of her usual perches this week.
You'd think she would be too hot with this weather. But she still loves the sun. And yes, she has her two little paws on the window.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a good week.

What a special gift! You're a lucky girl to have friends that are so thoughtful. And Mia is always a treat to view.
What a fabulous gift Margaret...you're a lucky one!! We have the same toy for Tyge...he destroyed it in about one day!! Feathers all over the house -- it was funny. He still plays with it even though the sound and most of the catnip & stuffing are gone.

Hi, Margaret,
What a wonderful gift from your friend! How generous of her! I have a lot of Ellen/s charts, but have never taken a class from her. Do you belong to her online group? I have stitched almost all of her yearly samplers. As usual, Mia is so photogenic and cute.
Melinda
Wow, what a great gift!! Lucky!!!!! I'm going to have fun watching you stitch it.
I love the pics you post of your son and Mia. My family has always said, "great guys always have a cat", they actually have many versions of the saying but all mean the same thing. :-)
What a great friend and gift! Enjoy!
Nargaret, I took this class with Ellen when she taught it for our local group a few years ago, Have I finished the project? No....so I'll follow your progress with great interest. Stitching friends are the best!

That is a wonder sampler or huswif. I took that class from Ellen and got about as far as your friend. I will finish it though - someday. Her directions are wonderful.
What a wonderful gift! I hope Ellen Chester does a class sometime in this area. If you should hear please let me know, would love to take one of her classes too. Mia looks like she is having fun in the heat... me, not so much! lol! Keep cool, Margaret! This heatwave is NO fun!
