I am getting there.
It's also time for the TUSAL ORT report. Here are my ORTs for the month.
My ORTs never look like much. I always work the thread down to the last possible mm, so I rarely throw away anything longer than an inch, and usually it's more like a 1/4 inch. lol! You can see all the red from The Hart's border.
Of course everyone has heard about that winter storm named after a fish. We were lucky and only got maybe a foot of snow.
I am so glad we have a snow blower! And that I have a husband who is strong and can manipulate the thing. lol! I did all the shoveling necessary that the snowblower couldn't reach. Good exercise.
The boy child was in Boston, of course, where they got 2 feet of snow. He took a few pictures for me once the storm had passed.
I can't decide whether that last pic is of a snowman or someone's bike. lolol! The boy child has class again today -- classes were cancelled on Friday.
Mia has been doing her best to keep warm during all the cold and snow.
Yes, she is in this picture. lol!
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week. I also hope everyone up in New England is warm and safe and has power.
Peekaboo!

I've been wondering about you and the Boy Child and how you fared with Nemo. Glad all is well. Your Hart Lives border will be striking when finished.
The Hart is gorgeous! I love that border! It is quite graphic and dramatic!
We have been struggling with the snow too. One of these years, the husband will decide to buy a snowblower! LOL!
We had the added difficulty of having to shovel out to the chicken coop this year. Groan!
Oh well! The eggs are good!
I can't complain because thank God we didn't lose power this time!
Whoopee!
Only one more side til you get to the fun part! Love the colors.
Way too much snow for my taste. Mia has the right idea.
Your Hart sampler looks fabulous... but I notice that you still have lots of red fill on the right border left to stitch. You must be growing weary of red!
I'm much more wasteful of silks than you... my ort container would have been overflowing.
Glad you and the boy child made it through the mighty blizzard safely.
Wow beautiful sampler..looking so sweet..
Glad you all made it thought the storm..
That is really too much snow..wow..
Sending you warm hugs x
Those pictures gave me chills! Filled backgrounds are so much work but they are so attractive. Love that red.
Your border is awesome, that is a lot of work!!! Of course it looks beautiful, all those gorgeous stitches.....love it. It's red too which is why it I love it more!!! Love Mia and her snuggly hiding under the covers, I would too with all that snow! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for always inspiring me!!!
Hugs,
Mags
xx
Hart is looking good, love the red! As usual Mia is just too darn cute, love the coffee high!! ours loves vicks, ben gay and such!!
Glad that you were spared the really tough snow, I remember the bad storms in Boston from when I was a kid!!
I love a good snow storm! Everything is so quiet and crisp. I don't miss the shoveling part, but I do miss being all bundled up an cozy in front of a good fire.
Your Hart's peice is looking wonderful. I can't wait to see the model you stitched!
I expect you need to be careful when you bundle up things for the washing machine. Mia coud be tucked up inside. !!!
The Hart is looking A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. You are nearly finished with the border. I am glad that you posted a photo with one side not finished. It shows how different a design can look against a different background.
I adore the shade of red in this piece.
Great progress on your sampler!
Glad you made it through the storm and you still have power. Great pics:)
Such an attractive border on the Hart Lives piece...and such a lot of work! It's going to be a real beauty with all that glorious red! Love seeing all the snow...Boston is unbelievable...I'd love to take a stroll down those wonderful old streets covered with snow.
Have a great week,
Robyn
Margaret, I am glad to hear you made it through the big snowstorm. I thought of you and your son in Boston when I heard the weather forecasts.
Take care!
gorgeous, love your stitches.
That is a lot of snow.
Beautiful! Just wonderful looking. I too use up every last mm of floss. =)
Sweet Mia.♥
You've made good progress there! I'm glad all are safe and sound. The Boy got some really good pictures there. Glad you shared them. I think Mia has the right idea snuggled under that quilt!
I really like The Hart! Love that border. I guess I should not mention we have had that kind of snow for the last two months, with more inches added every other weeks.... :) I am glad Mia finds ways to keep warm. A true cat!
Wow, the border is fabulous!! Tremendous amount of snow, all you need now are a few warm days :)
Margaret, I just love your weekly updates!
The snow is beautiful!
We don't get too much of the "white stuff" down here in Virginia...so when it snows here, everything stops!
The Hart is coming right along! Now the the border is done, you will be dome by next week's report;)
Happy Stitches,
-Holly in VA
Great progress! Glad to hear y'all made out with power still on. Looks like Mia has the right idea!
That's a funny picture of Mia - she looks annoyed that you've woken her up! lol.
Boy, I've seen on the news the snow back east. It's pretty but it can be annoying (to get around in) after a couple of days I think!
See, you're a border finisher person! Lovely work on the Hart. You would be aghast at the lengths of my orts! You must use really short needles.
Enjoy your snow ...from the inside!
I was wondering how you did!!!!!! I think a foot is still a lot ;-). Glad Eli made it through the storm too. I think it's a bike, LOL.
The Hart is so pretty!!!!!
I love the photos of the snow but wouldn't like to have to deal with it. The border is very effective but I can relate to you wanting it to be finished.
WOW! That is a lot of snow, and very pretty in the photos, but this Southern gal would not deal well with that much snow. : )
Wonderful progress on the Hart!!
I do love that border Margaret! it's stunning! Lovely pics of the snow, secretly I love snow 3 months of the year lol.
Have a good stitching week;)
My guess would be that's a bike under the snow, lol.
That border is so beautiful and you are so patient to get it all done first. Disciplined maybe? It's going to be a show piece as are all your samplers.
Also here in Italy is fallen as snow in this days!
Your new embroidery is already very beautiful!
Loredana
Margaret, I'm so impressed!! You have made great progress on The Hart and it's goodin G-O-O-D!!!This is fast becoming a favorite of mine!!
Love all the pics of the snow and of course the one of Mia under the covers!!
I can't believe that you got all of that border in. It looks wonderful.
I was wondering how you did with the storm. My husband was in New York on Friday with all flights cancelled. Luckily he found a rental car and drove all the way back to Detroit. I can't imagine he would have been a happy camper to be stranded in New York until flights started going again!!
We only got 6 inches or so, but that was more than enough for me.
Very beautiful pictures !!!
I love your Country my friend
bisous from FRANCE
Wow, your Hart sampler seems intense. So much fill-in but it's gorgeous! Glad that you were safe from Nemo. I ended up being so out and about this weekend that I didn't hear anything about the storm. Hopefully it wasn't terribly bad. I'm jealous of Mia...I wish I could snuggle under some covers now! lol
Than snow ..... glad not worry too much for you. Mia has a great idea!!
I think you have the right idea, Margaret to push on with the border and then reward yourself with the "fun" stuff... "Only" a foot of snow! Yikes!! We escaped with nothing--just too far west this time. At least it's a good excuse to sit inside and stitch :)
neat seeing the snow photos. I just started the final 4th border on the Hart. You are making great progress. Hope you have a good week and don't have any more snowfall to deal with. Mel
Glad to hear that you are doing fine and haven't lost your power. What an adventure for your son :)
Love that border!
Another wonderful sampler to drool over. As always enjoy reading your blog. Mia is precious :)
i've been thinking about you and all the snowy weather. Glad to see and hear you survived. Your sampler is coming right along. It's beautiful. And that sweet Mia is one smart kitty !! She looks like you may have interrupted her nap in the last pic !! LOL Hugs
I really love the sampler you are working on. The border does look like a pain though.
Ugg, that is a lot of snow. We are in the same snowy mess right now! So good to see you made it through.
Hugs.
Your sampler is looking awesome Margaret. You've made so much progress. Wow thats alot of snow. I would love to live somewhere that how lots of snow all winter as long as me and hubby could stay home. Cute pics of Mia.
Linda
Wow, the border is fabulous!!
You nearly finished the border.I love the photos of the snow, we have only a little bit snow.
Love the picture of MIa.
Hugs, Evelyne
Look at that look on Mia's face. Hahaha. That was a perfectly good nap. Hahaha. Your work is lovely as ever. You have accomplished some serious projects of late. Way to go!
I love The Hart Lives sampler!! That red is so rich and beautiful. Can't wait to see the rest of the sampler...yet another one I want to stitch! The list grows....Although the snow seems inconvenient, it sure is pretty. Glad that Mia is staying warm and cozy under the covers. Titus does that too! Funny kitties!!
Love the colors in The Hart especially the red. I thought I was frugal with thread, but I tip my hat to the queen.
That Mia, she knows how to find a warm spot
Glad everyone is safe and warm
That is a lot of snow! I have never seen that much in real life.
I'll say it again, I just love that red border. I can't wait to see it come together.
oooo well done with the stitching ... thats a lot of red ... and cute orts ....
just a bit of snow there and think Mia has the right idea keeping warm and snuggled :) love mouse xxxxxx
Beautiful progress, such strong colors.
I am glad that everyone made out ok in the storm. I think Mia has the right idea :)
Have a great week!
What a lot of snow!! Here in Holland we never have that much of snow.
Greetings from Debby
Hey Margaret! I wondered how you guys managed through the storm! I'm so glad it wasn't worse than it was.
Mia looks so cute curled up under the blanket! She had the right idea.
I'm glad you're staying warm and didn't get too much snow. Those pics from Boston are incredible!!
WHEW! I was worried about you with the storm. They always seem to spell doom for your area. (My mother's area is like that. Her road is a wreck..again...and she had no power for a couple days....again.)
My neck/back are still a little stiff from all the shoveling. Oof. Definitely not used to that kind of exercise!
Your making great progress Margaret! I hope some of that snow has melted now! :) miss you!!
Yay!! for the border almost done, it doesn't look too boring
I have did a couple of fun borders that I don't mine stitching lately
I want snow! Wah!!!!
Lol
I applaud you for sticking with that border until it's done. I'm quite certain I could not!
Love the piece you are working on!!! Th border is fabulous ~ a ton of stitches!
I enjoyed seeing your snow ~ a little jealous as Nemo gave us rain ~ but glad we didn't have to clear up all that snow!
Mia knows how to hunker down!
What a beautiful sampler...was not familiar with the Hart. That is what is so fun about reading needlework blogs... coming across something new to stitch!
What a year for snow it has been : )
Hi Margaret! Great progress on the Hart...all that solid stitching sure does take a long time. Glad you didn't get too much snow:) We ended up with maybe 5". And, I am just back from Sonoma where the sky was deep blue every day and temps were in the high 60's. It was to be 70 today (but I flew home on the red eye last night/this a.m. Mia, as always, is so cute.
Wow what great progress you made, beautiful! I love the snow pics...Mia is too precious!
Wow!! That's a serious amount of snow--"just" a foot! Wow. Great pics from your son, too. I think Mia has the right idea--hunker down and stay warm! Love your progress on your sampler.
The Hart Lives is looking gorgeous, great progress
Glad you wern't badly affected by the snow, your DS's photo's are great
Love love the samplers-Mary McAllister is a must have for me (hint if you want to sell the chart) and hate hate the snow LOL-We are destined to get our share anytime now tho :(
Beautiful progress, Margaret !! Lots of snow, that's us today too !!
