Coffee high

First off a pic of my progress on The Hart Lives Where It Loves.  I included the chart as well so you can see how it will look when finished.

The red fill in is tedious, but mindless.

Most cats love their catnip.  Mia, she can take it or leave it.  She enjoys it once in a while, but it's not like a total high for her like with other cats.

What does give her that high is coffee.  And no, we never actually let her drink coffee.  Just the smell, the afterglow, is enough to send her into ecstasies.

Any time a cup is left sitting around that has been used for coffee, Mia is there to enjoy.

The father type thinks she would be a Youtube sensation.  lol!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.

Fun piece!!!!! Can't wait to see your progress. And too funny on Mia. I have to confess, Chloe and Sophie occasionally lick a few drops of coffee if I forget and leave my cup on the end table, LOL.

Silly Mia cat made me moving back to the blog land!! lol Beautiful progress of The Hart Lives Where It Loves. I may have to ask you what bag of coffee you have as it seems to be a really good one! I need to be back to that high up there to be back to the blogging mood...

The new sampler looks absolutely gorgeous! You do such good work. And please, please put Mia on you tube. I would love to see her getting high on the afterglow of coffee. Don't you just love the personalities that evolves? She doesn't follow the crowd, that one:)

I love your coffee sniffing kitty. The last picture is priceless.

I love your pics of Mia! She is a darling cat with a great personality and so fun! I have one too who does not care for catnip...who knows why!

Thanks for sharing your sampler...great colors and looks so fun!

Awww... great photos of little Mia, your coffee fiend. I admire you for being able to stitch all the red fill in stitches... that must be tedious. The results are beautiful!

Linda said...

Oh my gosh - this is too cute - especially the last photo! What is odd, I have a cat (a stray I took in a few months ago) that always starts crying and acting like he wants a sip - everytime I fix coffee....

Carol said...

Such a pretty new start, Margaret, and, yes, Mia would be a big hit on YouTube!!

Miss Pants said...

I can see where the red would be tedious. But that border is just so pretty. Maybe your finish will inspire me to stitch it one day.

Mia is so funny. The cold weather invigorates my dog. Makes him crazy! Don't even get me started on snow days...he wants out every 5 minutes.

Love how this one is coming along! That Mia cracks me up. Just look at those wide eyes. LOL!

You are a fast stitcher!

WOW a coffee-loving cat! That's a new one on me, and I've had lots of cats!

Your sampler is so pretty Margaret!! And that is so funny about Mia. I didn't know that coffee could substitute for catnip. You should definitely put her on YouTube. Catie watched some cat videos the other night and I think that Mia would be a great hit!!

woolwoman said...

look at her showing off for mommy and the camera. too cute! Your Hart sampler is whizzing along. I bet you will finish before Feb is gone. Enjoy it - Mel

Oh Mia!♥
ooOoo! The colors of this new stitch are fabulous!

What a darling photo of Mia! Too cute that she likes coffee. That just makes me laugh!
Our cat goes nuts over cat nip. I buy it for her for Christmas. This year, it was the first thing the kids wanted to open. They just think it's so funny to see the cat go nutty over it.

Your sampler is stunning. I love this one so much, and I'm glad to see someone stitching it.

Hope all is well. I've been very absent from blogland. Too much going on right now. :)

Hugs friend!

Oh I do love the border, it's striking! Don't you think Mia is really a human, you have to set her a place on the table next lol, very very funny, coffee is delicious, I agree!

Love your Hart sampler Margaret, it is looking lovely. Mia would have no luck living in our house if she wanted a coffee fix. The smell of it gives DS a migraine.

Cari said...

I love your sampler choice. What Scarlet Letter design isn't the most fabulous?? Sometimes mindless stitching just fills the bill.

Mia is too funny. I too think she may be a Youtube sensation. I'd watch her for sure. She's adorable.

Happy stitching. Have a simply fabulous week!

Karen said...

Love the sampler; it's going to be sooooo gorgeous!

So, has Mia ever gotten stuck in the cup?

Unknown said...

I too love coffee but don't drink it. I'm a tea drinker. Love the progress on the sampler. I can't wait to add it to my WIP!! Thanks for the post. Have fun stitching.

Oh my goodness, that last picture of Mia is adorable! I think you should make it into a poster and send it to the boy child at college so she can watch over him! LOL!

I love the outside border of this sampler, it looks great. Mia made me smile with her antics - she's such a bonnie cat.

Annie said...

Very cool new sampler. I don't think I could bear to do that much border, but it does look pretty. I used to have a boyfriend whose last name was 'Hart'. That would have been a great piece if we were still together!

Mia is just too cute today!

Gorgeous progress on Hart! Love the border!

I love coffee too, Mia!

Margaret, applause all around for taking on another picture sampler with so much solid stitching. I'm always amazed at what you can manage to get doe from one week to the next!

Mia cracks me up! One of our cats would always go tripping on strawberry leaves. Who would have thought they were that much like catnip?

CodmanPoint said...

Those colors are exquisite ~ are they silk?
Have to admit....I would lick the bottem of my own coffee cup if I could.

Gabi said...

I am so very very very much in love with your new WIP. And just as much tempted to stitch it as well. These colors are heavenly.
Mia is hilarious. She would definitely be a success on youtube. Plus...she has already a good fan base here on your blog. We could enjoy her then even more. :)

Dot said...

ONG! That cat! She is fabulous! I love this post about her coffee sniffin' obsession. Ha ha! I feel like that sometimes. LOL

I just love your progress on this chart. Loving the deep, rich colours and stitching.

I love your new project Margaret. Sometimes mindless stitching is relaxing. What adorable pictures of Mia. They are so cute.

Maybe Mia could be the new Budweiser clydsdale -- he sensation of the Madison Ave ad men -- she could land the big Starbucks contract and you be set for life in stash..... and coffee (or at the very least coffee cups). :)

Too funny.

Have fun with that red fill-- it might send me round the bend. Somehow filling like that in needlepoint doesn't drive me bonkers, but doing it in xs does.

Samplings from Spring Creek said...

Too funny, I love the expression on Mia's face. Miss Callie Mae also feels the same way about catnip, she could take it or leave it. However, turkey is another subject.

The red fill in may be tedious and it is gorgeous

Melissa said...

Oh, that is too funny. Mia is a coffee junkie! Oh I laughed at that last picture!

Lovely start on your new sampler!

Anne said...

Lol!! Just like Melissa, I really did laugh out loud at the last photo of her! She's my kind of kitty if she likes coffee, although I think we'd be brawling over a cup!! Love your progress so far. It's such an unusual sampler and looks like it's a lot of fun to stitch!

PS have you watched the new PR yet?

Barb said...

Adorable Mia! Had quite a chuckle over these pics! I once had a cat that would dip her paw in my coffee cup and then lick it but my other cats don't seem interested in the smell at all. Interesting!

Deborah said...

The sampler is going to be gorgeous! But, the pictures of Mia are priceless.

Veronica said...

Mia is such a doll. I share her love for coffee so I totally get her antics :P

Dang, there's quite some work involved in the border. You've made lovely progress.

Hugs,
Veronica.

Of course Mia could be a YouTube sensation! She's too cute not to be!

Did you know YouTube has videos for cats? Like aquariums and birds and such?

Giovanna said...

Nice going on the sampler - I'm sure the filling in is tedious, but I agree that it can also be very relaxing.

That's funny. I have never heard of a cat before enjoying the smell of coffee... I will have to see if our cats show any interest...

Your piece is beautiful as always. The red fill in color is so pretty.

Krista said...

How funny Mia is with the coffee cup! My Gigi likes to stick her head in the cups too but I never thought it had to do with the coffee!! I just thought it was plain old cat-curiosity. Love your latest SL piece. It is such a lovely design and sentiment.

Lois said...

Oh Margaret, love your WIP, I know that filling in can be tedious but it looks so good! Well I think Mia could well be a star in the making on YouTube!!! These pics made me chuckle this morning.

Debby said...

Very beautiful start! And Mia is to cute!

Greetings from Debby

Mindi said...

Mia is so funny! Are you sure she isn't related to Paulette? My old dog used to go into sneezing fits from alcohol (just licking a finger that had been dipped in).

Melanie said...

Heeeeheee! That's too funny that she loves coffee like that. I don't know that I've ever heard of a cat liking coffee before. All of mine like cat nip but it only seems to affect one them. It makes Maggie quite violent if someone gets too close to her so I'm not sure it's a 'blissful' high though. (She's a mean drunk? lol)
Great start on your new piece!!!!!

Mary Ann said...

Wonderful progress on the sampler, and I always look forward to the Mia photos!!

Yippee fir me, I got Margaret mail today!! Ty Ty.. I totally see now why you did the outline first. Then filled it in like a coloring book... Thanks again, now I have time to see which silks I'm missing....

Dona said...

First things first! Margaret, Mia is too funny in those pictures! I definitely think you should put her on YouTube!! I wonder what appeals to her about the smell of coffee?

The colors The Hart are so rich and pretty. I look forward to seeing your finish.
