This is where I am on Adam and Eve by the Scarlett House. I've finished all the motifs and now am working my way up to the top with pretty alphabets in red. It's such a pretty piece!
I got a lovely gift from Laurie of Corgi Cottage. It's a beautiful handmade laying tool from Kathy of The Unbroken Thread, made by her father. Kathy had a giveaway for two laying tools. The winner got to keep one and give the other to a friend. And I am the lucky friend! I know I am going to get a lot of use out of it for a future project.
Thank you, Laurie, and thank you to Kathy too, for having such a wonderful giveaway! I'm so thrilled to have such a lovely piece!
Christmas break is flying by here. Two more weeks and we have to take the boy child back to Boston. We've been having good times though.
Celebrated Christmas.
Made dumplings on New Years Day.
We even made it to the mall yesterday for our Johnny Rockets fix.
We also stopped by the Lego store and the boys got nostalgic.
The boy child and Mia have been having their love tussles too.
The father type had to go back to work the day after New Years. It was nice having him home on vacation.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope 2013 is getting off to a good start for everyone!

Good times! Thanks for sharing.
Your stitching is beautiful as always. Eve is cute.
I do love Adam and Eve Samplers!
I love catching a glimpse of your home life....It makes me miss mine;)
All my children were home at Christmas. It was a piece of heaven!
Now, it's back to the old routine of empty nest, for me!
Back to stitching! Doing Nicola's Scarlet Letter SAL (Emma Miles 1848 - an A&E sampler) and Attic Needlework's SAL of Examplarery's Ann Bowers.
Happy 2013, Margaret!

Brilliant to have been able to take advantage of the family with good moments. Your son and Mia are adorable!!!!!! And as usual, attractive work.
Such a lovely Adam & Eve--definitely on my to-do list. Loved your photos of Christmas, especially the annual dumpling making!
Your Adam and Eve is fabulous and, as always, I'm amazed that you are so far into this new project.
You are the fastest stitcher I know!
Lovely pics of the family over Christmas.
I spy a Terry's chocolate orange in one of them :) Yum!
Margaret
Love that Adam and Eve-it is so similar to the one I am stitching on my SL repro AED 1746! I am just about to get to that part too, so its inspiring me to stitch on! Your family is so cute as always!I always enjoy them-my husband is Japanese and I am German so my kids also have that Cauc-asian look! LOL! So cute, right!
Very pretty stitching Margaret! Great gift from Laurie -- I'm sure you will put it to good use!
Thanks for sharing pics of your family. Glad you are enjoying having your son home.

Love the colors in the Adam and Eve - kind of looks Christmasy. Love the family Christmas pictures too! Looks like your daughter received a turntable? I miss those days. :) Sweet pictures of the boy child and Mia. :) Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Happy new year! Adam and Eve is gorgeous. Love your family Christmas. Thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to another year of your beautiful stitches. And pictures of Mia, of course;)
It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. I'm surprised that Eli has so much time off, but Mia will enjoy having him there (and you too).
Your A&E is looking great (another one to add to my pile) and love that laying tool. You'll have to find a project soon where you can use it!!
I do love this piece and I have ordered it too. How wonderful to have more family memories-- what a great time you all have had. It is something very special for sure!!!!! I love seeing your samplers hung all over the place :)
I'm stitching this A&E too... but I started from the top. We could put them together to get a completed sampler.
Lovely family photos... glad your Christmas was all you wanted it to be.
Hello dear i Love your Adam and Eve so much...
Looks like you and your family had a great Christmas, being all together is so sweet...
Happy New Year
Love cucki x
Love the new A&E. Very stylish fig leave coverings!
The Lego thing is so funny. I was just having a conversation with the son of some friends about Lego's and how their value has appreciated so much over time if you have any old mint condition sets. All sorts of collectors out there. A sub-culture I knew nothing about!
Wow, Margaret, wonderful progress! The A&E looks great. I'm glad you all had such a good time over the holidays. I'm sure Mia is going to miss her guy when he goes back to Boston (his parents will probably miss him, too. ;) ).
Oh how Lego continues to entertain even when they grow up. I have one who is exactly the same. I love to see Mia, she surely does love your son.
Love the shots of "the boys" and their Legos, Margaret!! That's something they never lose interest in, that's for sure! My middle son still has his large creations on display above the bookshelves in his old room. Oh, I hate to think of all the dust that is up there after all these years!
Your A&E is really looking wonderful--you'll be finished with it in no time...
How nice of Laurie to gift you the laying tool. I use mine regularly. Boys never really grow up. Lego is a timeless toy.
Your A & E is looking amazing.
Lovely family shots Margaret, glad you've had a great holiday with the kids...that Mia looks happy to have her boy home doesn't she..

Glad your holidays went well. Very nice the kids were home.
Your new Adam and Eve is coming along well.
Legos, how funny, they were a big part of our sons life in his younger years as well. I know what you mean about nostalgia. I can still hear him rooting through his lego bucket looking for pieces... ha!
You take such great pictures Margaret. Looks like you had a great Christmas. Adam and Eve is looking fantastic.
Linda
Oooh the A&E is gorgeous! I adore the red and green and am very tempted to give this one a go!

Hugs,
Reunited and it feels so goooood....
Talking about the boy child and Mia of course. She's going to be so sad when he has to leave again. :(
I had to look up just what a laying tool was (though, having done that, I feel like I *must* have known that at some point) and that's pretty cool. Makes me want one. Heh. Congrats on your gift!
So glad you had a great holiday!!! :)
I can't believe your son has two weeks left of vacation from school! Florida universities went back today. Enjoy the extra time!
Happy New Year Margaret! Great pics from your holiday time with everyone home. Mia sure looks happy. Love your A&E sampler -- it is gorgeous. Wish we had had time to make dumplings while our son was home...but limited time and other menu requests...can't believe the holidays are over already!!
Sounds like you had a nice Christmas and holiday with family. We're on our way to spring now!
So glad you enjoyed the holiday with everyone home. Looking forward to seeing the Navy Girl this summer. Beautiful work on your A&E. Safe travels to the kiddos on their way back.

Looks like a wonderful holiday!
Hugs to you and Mia!
Tanya's newest Adam and Eve and your gonna be done in no time! It's looking fabulous Margaret!
And I had to smile real big when I saw your son and DH getting nostalgic with the Legos. We just put up (tub after tub) of Legos because my boys said "they were too old" I thought my husband was gonna :,(
Maybe there is still hope for him one day in the future with a bit of nostalgia ... :)
Your Adam and Eve looks gorgeous, Margaret! I love it more and more each pic you post.
Looks like you had lots of family holiday fun. Mia looks so happy too!
I do love A&E samplers too. And yours are always gorgeous.
Love your new sampler, and the laying tool is fantastic too.
Great family pictures too. Are that Chinese Dumplings you're making there? I got addicted to those when my daughter took me to a restaurant specialized in them in Melbourne.
Mia must be thrilled that your son is home.
Wishing you and your family a great 2013 :)
Nice and warm pictures of the family!
I see Mia is comfortable in the arms of the boy child.
Nice gift from Laurie.

Love your Adam and Eve progress! Such a pretty sampler! Looks like you all had a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for the christmas card by the way. I had it waiting for me when I returned from my trip. Love the lego too....so much fun to make things!! Hugs!
What progress you've made - A&E looking great. Love the laying tool, too, beautiful.
Looks like you all enjoyed being home together. Love the legos - we miss those days with the boy here - usually occupied most of the time here over Christmas break.
Hope all goes well with your son's return...and Mia going through withdrawal again...
