stitching post finally....

I finished what I could on that model so far, so I picked up an old WIP to work on.  I don't know why, but whenever I tried to work on this one in the past, it was a complete failure and I would put it away again.  This time, however, I seem to be enjoying it.

It's And All was for an Appil by Scarlet Letter.  I'm using DMC and 40ct linen of some kind.  I think it's an R&R fabric.

Love the colors!

I was so surprised the other day to receive in the mail a gift from my dear friend Laurie of Corgi Cottage.  She sent it just because as a way to cheer me up.  She's so sweet!

Love the t-shirt!  And some Little Gem scissors, a Kelmscott Threadkeep -- so pretty!  And also a Mary Englebreit needle keep.  Love Mary Englebreit!  Thank you so much, my friend!  You are the best!

I also won a prize from Sandra of Homespun Elegance.

And here's what was inside.

Thank you, Sandra.  I love it so much!

I was throwing away a kleenex box, and of course Mia was interested in it.  Then the boy child reminded me (via IM) that she used to play inside kleenex boxes as a kitten.  Well there's no way she would fit inside one anymore!

She's a bit too large to fit now.  lol!  Here's a pic of her inside a Kleenex box as a kitten.

So cute!!

Thank you to everyone for sending such wonderful emails and comments asking after us and how we were doing through Sandy and its aftermath.  I'm still feeling a bit shell shocked, but it's so nice to be getting back to normal again.  We are very lucky in so many ways.  My thoughts and prayers continue to be with those affected by Sandy.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I always appreciate your visits and comments.  I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

ETA:  Forgot about my TUSAL report.  Here it is.  Doesn't look very different.  :D

So glad to see a post that says things are coming back to "normal." Ah - maybe the reason was doing all that outline stitching! Now that it's colorful, lots more fun!
Mia is always sweet - but what an adorable kitten!
Hope things continue to progress quickly and solidly.
Be well.

A for an Apple is on my to-do list! Hope I live long enough!

Love the picture of Mia!
We have a cat, Ollie who used to sit in my husband's shoes! He would never fit in them now, although he does still play with the laces!

Hi Margaret, I am glad that things are getting back to normal again for you. Each of us on the East Coast has had a time of it to deal.

LOVE your new stitching piece! I have never seen that one but looks like so much fun.

Cute baby pic of Mia, it is fun how they love to get into things, she looks like she is trying to figure out how to make it into that box! Enjoy your week! :)

I'm glad to see your working on AAWFAA. It's a fabulous sampler. I still haven't finished the verse yet... let's see that's three years ago, I think, when the rest of the sampler was completed. Maybe you'll inspire me to get her finished.
Love the photo of Mia in the Kleenex box.

Great to see that you are up and running (or stitching in this case) again. I can understand your WIP. I think all the outlining would overwhelm me and I'd have to put it down and take a time out. But the colors will make it so pretty!

Wow Margaret. I love the piece your working on. I would like to do that one if it doesn't have over one stitching as I only use 14ct aida. Glad to hear things are getting back to normal. Give Mia a hug for me.

Appil's colors are very nice and I love seeing those tiny 40 count stitches. The magnified photos on the computer are the only way I CAN see them! Sweet little pillow from Sandra and gifts from Laurie.

Cats seem to find boxes irrestible. Too funny that Mia doesn't fit in the Kleenex box anymore.

Nice to see you are enjoying your stitching again. I am also very glad to read things are returning to normal for you.
Take care.

So glad to see you! I'm so sorry for the awful ordeal you have been going through. I hope your husband is feeling better now. Food poisoning is the worse thing ever!
I love your sampler! I swear when I first looked at it, I thought that it was done on muslin or something...good grief it looks small! It's going to be beautiful when it's done.
Your gifts are wonderful! I'm so glad that you got something fun in the mail.
Mia is so cute. I bet she has kept you company the past few weeks.

My cat Maggie wouldn't stop trying to shove all 8lbs of herself in that box. She's got a bit of box thing a la Maru.

Love the new (old) stitching! It has a modern art aesthetic to me.

I'm very eager to finally see what secret project you've been working on for us :) It seems like you're two samplers ahead of me at all times and always giving me that extra push to ones I've been on the fence about - which is again the case with 'All for an Appil'. I shall blame you when my husband uncovers my re-growing stash! Glad things are calming down a bit around you all!
