Ugh

Just wanted to post to let everyone know we're safe and sound, and so is the house.  I really was literally afraid for the house and for our lives at the height of the storm.  We have no power, and won't have for some time to come from the look of it.  Trees down close to the house, branch on car which has a dented roof and no back window now.  Cold in house, of course.  Girl child is in the same boat -- no power, but she has places to go where she can power up her cell phone and stay warm during the day at least.  Boy child unaffected, has power, classes on as of Tuesday.

Will post again when I am able.  Thanks to everyone for the good wishes.  I pray all my friends are safe after Sandy.  And I pray for no more Sandys in future.

ETA: I won't be answering comments due to the situation.  But thanks so much for all your comments and good wishes!!

Oh Margaret....I've been thinking of you all week. Then when I saw that you had posted on a day other than on a Monday and read your blog post title, I knew there was a problem.

Try to stay warm and take care of yourself. Do you have one of those battery operated stitching lights that I've been reading about?

Please keep us posted as to how things are going with you and your family.

I am so glad you are safe and still have a home! I sent you an email this morning asking, dummy me - check the blog first. I am relieved to hear too, that your kiddos survived - I was thinking how bonkers I would be about my son away. I be Mia is really freaked now, boychild moving, vacation and then a storm! Take care, keep warm and look forward to hearing from you when you have your power back...

Just read your update post. I wish I could send you power in an envelope! I would if I could. I just keep hearing people complaint about this and that and I think just by the grace of god and that could be me without power. Hang in there. Help in on the way. I live on the 95 corridor and I have seen the convoys of trucks hearing north to help restore power. Help is on the way but there are just so many people in need. Snuggle up and stay warm.....it cant be long now.
