Getting antsy

I can tell I'm starting to worry about the boy child and college.  I almost forgot to do a blog post!  I couldn't settle down last week on anything to stitch, but eventually I decided on this.

Jane Philpott Sampler by Shakespeare's Peddler
40ct. Homespun (Lakeside)
AVAS and NPI called for

Here's what she looks like -- picture from the Shakespeare's Peddler blog.

And if you want to see some wonderful pictures of Anne's progress on Jane, go here to Anne's blog, Doll's Musings.   It's her fault I had to start this one.  Anne's Jane is just gorgeous!

You can tell from the title that it's getting closer and closer to college.  And I'm already a basket case.  I'm making lists, starting to get supplies together, planning, etc.  Definitely not ready for this!

The boy child is doing well.  His wound is finally starting that speedier healing process the doctor had predicted.  I still wish the wound would heal faster, but it is much more satisfying to look at it and notice a difference from day to day.  Now to get the boy child moving on getting ready for college.  :D  I'm giving him a break this week though -- he has rehearsals every night this week and a show to put on with his friends at a local cafe on Thursday night.  Should be a fun show.

Mia has noticed a difference in the boy child's healing as well.  She's much less cautious around him -- although still being careful of his wound.  And she seems happy to tolerate the boy child grabbing her once again -- I think she missed it when he wasn't able to do it!  She even started falling asleep in his arms once!

Silly girl!  She's still a lazy one though.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  I love visiting with you all!  Have a great week!

Love the start on your sampler Margaret. This one is going to be a beauty!

Hang in there with your son going away to college. When my granddaughter left 4 years ago I wasn't sure I would make it. I think i wept every day! And now...she'll graduate in December! She's doing what she loves and she's doing what she's supposed to be doing. (gosh...i think this may have been more for me than you....LOL)

Anyway...have a wonderful week and give sweet Mia a hug from the cat lady in Florida.

Nice start on Jane! I'm glad your son is healing quicker now so that when he's off to college it will be better. I remember the weeks leading up to my daughter's leaving for college. Lots of lists and mixed emotions. Hang in there:)

Beautiful progress on Jane, Margaret!
I think your son will do fine at college. He will probably love it. Glad he is feeling better.

Very soothing colors to help put you at ease and calm your nerves. At least your son is on the mend and it sounds like he's dong well. Just take everything one step at a time!

It is so hard to send your child off into the world. All should be fine and once you have settled into the empty nest - you will get lots done and will love the trips of him coming home.

As usual Mia is just darling!!

Awww, Margaret! I feel your pain! Hang in there and remember to sit down and breathe! lol. Things will progress as they should with your son and time will lessen the anxiety I think.

Your new start is so pretty. I have been admiring Ann's for awhile.

I love that last photo of Mia.

BTW, just saw your finish of Dames Boarding School - wonderful. I so want to stitch her soon!

You've gotten a good start on Jane. I'm glad to see the flowers in the border are different colors... it does break up the boredom of border stitching.
I love this sampler!

Ohh - I like your antsy stitching choice! You may get a little more one-on-one time with Mia soon??

Jane really is so much prettier than she looks in the cover photo! I'm glad you started her. Glad your boy is on the mend and doing better!

Wonderful new start! I'll bet you are stitching to the Olympics!
Hang in there Mom...like the old saying...you've given them roots...now the hard part...give them wings. I think Mia is going to be sticking to you 24/7 when the day comes.

Jane is a beautiful big girl! I love to see close ups of your stitches. Perfect crossing and tension - so different than double floss on 28 count. Glad your son is healing!

Deep breath...you're gonna get through this. I promise. Look how well your daughter has done!

Glad to hear he's feeling better and healing faster!

Oh yes, I remember the taking the son to college days. My youngest son was going to the University of Illinois a whole 45 minutes away from us. I swore to my husband I would hold it together on the day we moved him, I made it 3.5 miles and I screamed for a tranquilizer! He is now close to finishing graduate school in Chicago, it does get easier believe me. Hang in there!

Sounds like move in time is coming in super speed time.

Glad wound is healing.

Mia is going to miss the boy child like crazy!

I would feel just as anxious as you do. My youngest still lives at home, and I'm most happy about that.
LOVE your new sampler. It will be another beauty.
And I absolutely adore your Dames Boarding School as well.

Beautiful sampler and you've made a nice start! I don't think we are ever ready for our children to leave, but somehow we get through it one day at a time. :) I'm glad to hear that your son is doing better. Must be all of the TLC he has gotten from you and little Miss Mia. :)

Jane is looking great! She is an amazing sampler.
So glad that your son is doing well. I know that there is so much to do to get him to school. It is going to be a busy time for you.
Hugs to you and Mia.

I well remember what a busy and anxious time this was (mostly for mom!!) before the kids left for their freshman year... I think it is harder for moms of boys, Margaret, because they tend to be less organized or even concerned about whether or not they have everything they need... Good luck to you in these last couple of weeks!

Glad you have this lovely new sampler to take your mind off things for a while :)

Hi Margaret! I have to confess that I am not the biggest of fans of A&E samplers (can't tell you why although I like the idea of having a sampler collection with a common theme) but ... your "Jane Philpott" just may convert me! Your stitching is beautiful and she really is much prettier "in person" than in her photo!

I sympathize with you and the anxiety about sending our children to college. You would think the second one wouldn't be as diffficult, but it is! Same old feelings come rushing back ... hate this!

Good luck, best wishes, positive thoughts ... I'll be thinking of you!

Love Jane P. up close! I haven't ever had a good look at the colors but now that I see yours I want to stitch it! I hope Mia will be able to enjoy some quality time with her buddy before he leaves for college. Any rules on cats in dorm rooms? ;)

Jane should keep your mind of your boychild, she is huge and beautiful!
Wishing the boy a speedy recovery! such a bummer when it takes a long time to heal! I am sure he'll be glad to see the back of it!
Have a fine week:))

Love this sampler! I know you must be getting antsy about your DS. So I end up in spam on your blog too? At least I know I am getting through one way or another. lol

Beautiful sampler choice, Margaret!! Another biggie ~ but I am sure you'll have it all stitched up in no time at all.
Good to hear that your son is healing a bit faster now and that he and Mia are able to mess with each other a bit now. That last pic of her is awesome! She looks like she sees something she wants to pounce on!

Jane is a beautiful project. There you go - tempting me again! Best wishes on the college/empty nest transition.
Love that Mia - she's so sweet.

Love your choice to stitch 'Jane P.', a beautiful sampler, and the colours are wonderful. As a mother of three sons, I can empathize with you, as your dear boy's college departure draws near. What a blessing that his wound is starting to heal more. Mia is such a good little nurse:)

A real good decision to stitch on Jane. What a gorgeous sampler this is. And I'm sure you are enjoying the colours very much.
Good to hear that the boychild's healing process is continuing smoothly. I so understand what you must feel about him leaving for college soon. It's a bit tough in the beginning but it also offers new chances for you. You'll see. This being said by someone who experienced the situation three times, lol.

YOur sampler is looking good. I have the big one of SP but haven't even thought about starting Ann Dale yet. I have been working steadily on one through the Olympics. I love the pic of Mia "sitting". I have said it before, can't even imagine my son leaving - even though he's not around much now - but I am feeling your anxiety and my thoughts are with you through this 'last month'. So do you get to partake of any of your daughter's cooking? I am glad she's doing so well on her own, lessens the mom's anxieties a bit, I'm sure. Have a good week Margaret, glad the healing is going well!

I trying to catch up on blog reading--like you, I am spending a lot of time getting things squared away for the kids' start of college. I will keep you in my thoughts, because I know how hard it is to let them go--but, we mothers are certainly good at the worrying. : )

Jane is looking gorgeous!!
