Almost time......

Not much stitching these days.

Just a tad.

Been busy getting supplies and clothes for the big C day.  College for the boy child!  Yikes!

I did get something special in the mail though.  Vickie of A Stitcher's Story had a giveaway and I won.

I won the lovely Brightneedle chart which she had stitched.  (You can see pics of her finish here.)   (Darn the postman -- he always folds large envelopes and creases my charts!!)

Vickie also sent me something else too!  Inside the cute pawprint wrapping paper was this.  Such beautiful counting pins!!

Aren't they gorgeous?  Thanks so much, Vickie!  You're a sweetheart!

I'm counting down the days now to moving day and the start of the boy child's college years.  Did I say I was nervous?  Um, yes!  It's also exciting though.  And it's nice cause my sister and family will be pretty close by in case he needs anything.  And we have a place to stay when we visit him too!

There won't be many more of this kind of picture after this week.

Do you think Mia senses something?

Nah, she's just weird.  lol!

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I always love visiting with everyone!  I hope everyone has a great week.  Enjoy the US Open (tennis)!  For those in the path of Isaac, I hope he passes you by and you stay safe.

I am so glad you liked your gift. I like making counting pins now. It can be kinda addicting. Mia looks so thoughtful in that last photo.
I have to say Margaret, I teared up with your words on your son. You know my son is just one year behind yours. I am not ready for him to leave high school yet. I hope this, his last year prepares me.♥

Although stitching brings us great comfort, when there's a lot going on, I find myself just sitting with needle in hand and fabric on my lap while I solve the problems of the world !! I'm thinking you do that too. Your son will flourish in college I'm sure and it's comforting to know he has family close by.

Hugs dear friend and have a simply fabulous week!

Jane is looking beautiful! I hope that the transition off to college is easier than you think it will be and you'll be settled back into your stitching once the worry is over. Big hugs!

Good progress on the sampler. What a great gift... Brightneedle has such fun designs and those are really pretty counting pins.

Tough transition time, but I'm sure you'll weather it well! Mia will comfort you!

Love Jane, and looking forward to seeing it done. I know you have a big transition ahead of you. I am glad you have your stitching to keep you going, lots of good therapy in stitches. And Mia will need you, too:)

Jane is beautiful... I think I'm going to have to move her up closer to the top of the 'to be stitched' list. (((Margaret)))... you'll make it through the boy child's leaving for college.

Not much stitching? It's another BAP and you are making a good progress as usual :) Your giveaway winnings look very nice, especially the pins are special. Mia looks so relaxed being with your son. Hope he will come back home as often as he can to pet her...

Hi Margaret, just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you at this time. It is always a big moment for us Mum's when the last one leaves the nest.
Jane is looking lovely. She is really a pretty sampler. I totally agree with Cari that stitching does bring us great comfort when there is a lot going on.
Love your counting pins. They are really lovely. - Sandra.

Lovely gifts Margaret. What an emotional time for you to be losing your boy to college. I am sure Mia will know something is going on as they seem to sense these things and she is really going to miss him as much as you are. Hope it all goes well.

I know the departure of your son and the beginning of empty-nest living will be quite a change for you, Margaret... the tears will flow for a while, but I know how proud you are of all of his success so that should make it a bit easier on you. Good luck with his move-in day! At least you'll still have Miss Mia to "talk" to!

Hoping that all goes well for your son and you too. I am sure that Mia knows that 'something' is going on.

Congrats on the win!! It's a great little pattern.

What will Mia do after he's gone??????? Are we going to have to start a prayer circle for her? (Or you?) lol

Good luck to your son on going off to college!

Those counting pins are adorable, Margaret!

Margaret, good luck with moving your son to college. Leaving him will be hard, but think about how you will be able to enjoy his concerts and have a new city to explore when you visit him. I'm sure you'll get lots of stitching done when the nest becomes empty.

Lovely gifts from Vickie! Her pins are beautiful.
I can only begin to imagine how you and Mia will be missing your son. I have a few more years before I have to face my first leaving, but even the thought makes me shudder!

JANE!!!!!!!!!My she is growing! So fast too! Love how you completed the first half of her already...I'm still working on it! Aw, I do think Mia probably suspected something was up. Cat's are intuitive. What a lovely win from sweet Vickie. Those pins are darling!

That photo of Mia in the blanket/pillow case? is too cute!!
