Continued hot and crazy.....

In between tons of errands and doctors appointments for the boy child (playing catch up), I managed to watch some Wimbledon (crazy first week!!!) and stitch.  Here is ATS so far.

The bottom pic is the area where I'm going to have to fill in the grass in the whole background.  Oh boy!  Lots more animals and a tree to add in yet.  I have to say this is a fun stitch.  We'll just not think about all that grass.  lol!

Lots of catch up stuff for the boy child, but he's all set, and he even has his driver's permit now -- finally!!  What is it about my children that they are in no hurry to learn to drive?  lol!  The girl child didn't get her driver's license until the summer before her junior year of college.  Looks like the boy child is following suit.  I do have to say it was nice not to have to worry about the driving, though, for both kids.  Now I have to worry about the girl child driving all the time.

The girl child is back from her celebratory cruise to Bermuda as of yesterday.  Mia the diva immediately started hissing and growling at her as usual.  Sigh.  And yet, she also does stuff like this.

Just settles right in next to the girl child as if they're friends.  I just don't get it.  Oh well.

Still waiting to hear about the girl child's apartment situation.  Fingers crossed we'll hear today!

So Wimbledon.  Crazy, right?  :D  And now another twist in the plot today so far.  We shall see......

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone in Canada had a great Canada Day.  And for those in the US, happy 4th!!!  My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the terrible fires out in Colorado.  And for those in the Mid Atlantic, I hope you are not affected by the storm damage and have your electricity soon.

I'll leave you with a little furry one hiding under a certain graduation gown.

Sweet kitty pictures!!!! And ATS is gorgeous, you'll be finished in no time :-).

Well, more animals and trees means less grass, right? :) Love the details on it. Mia is cute, as always. Send us some heat, because we have had a summer with just rain - for the second year in a row. I despair...

ATS is coming along just beautifully!

We have a similar situation like Mia's. Hermie is terrified of my husband, runs in fear whenever he seems him, yet he will sit right next to him. Sometimes I wonder if it's an eyesight problem? Don't know what to make of it!
Cats are all crazy!

ATS is looking fabulous! I really love this sampler, and it looks fun to work on.
Good luck with the apartment situation. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I wish I had your kids temperament. My son is getting ready to drive next year, and he can hardly wait. It scares the heck out of me!
Have a great holiday this week. Do you want to start the toy chest this month, and try and finish the sides of the chest? Let me know if that is too much.
Hugs to you!

Ha! You know I feel your pain with all that grass to stitch. ; ) ATS is looking gorgeous as always.

ATS is looking great Margaret - and don't fret about that grass - it's actually very easy to put in, just time consuming. Are you going with the two different greens?

Isn't this heat something else. I think that we need both some cooler weather and rain. I'm about tired of summer already and it's just started!!

Fingers crossed for DD's apartment, and driver's permit uh? My heart goes out to you. My DD is going to start driver's training soon and my apprehension is really extreme - moreso than with my son. My heart goes out to you!! :o)

P.S. Did your Phebe Month 3 show up yet?

Awww, Mia loves her hiding spots just like my Daisy does!

ATS is looking great. I don't like grass neither - fill in that is! But you're almost done and it will look fantastic!

Here's to surviving craziness through excellent stithcing :)

What is you say the grass was removed to support water conservation?

I didn't get to comment last week on your DS's grad ceremonies - congrats on that but I'm confused about why he was shorted out of his gold cords - that stinks! The prom photos were so beautiful - poor kids - we are having your horrendous heat wave now - WHEW - it's brutal out there. Love ATS - you are flying along as usual! Enjoy the Wimbledon ups and downs and have a great 4th! Mel

The sampler is looking so lovely. I don't envy you with having to do all that grass though.

Mia is so funny with her relationship to your daughter. A very complex cat.

Still no power here. I hope I hold up in this heat!

Happy 4th!

Congratulations to your DS on his graduation

Wimbledon has certainly been eventful this year!

ATS looks AMAZING!!!

Cats definitely have their own agenda, don't they?

I've noticed that kids seem to wait longer and longer to get their driver's licenses these days. Why when I turned 16, I was down getting my permit that very same day :) But, think of all the money you've saved on insurance, Margaret!!

I can't imagine stitching all that grass, but if anyone can do it, you can :) Good luck!!

Jeanne said...

You are really making the needles fly Margaret on ATS. I know what a fast stitcher you are! Belated congratulations on your son's graduation, the kids are really growing up fast aren't they.

Hope you are not sweltering too much back east....it's hot here in the southwest but still pretty dry with low humidity so not too awful yet. We've already gotten through 25% of the summer I tell myself LOL.

Mia is just so cute, Margaret. And I have no idea what to tell you about the hissing and all that. Who knows, lol. She's a CAT!!! She does what she wants, when she wants, no questions asked. I got my DL when I was seventeen. I would have had it at sixteen, but I tore a bunch of ligaments in my leg before I could take my test, so I had to wait and heal before I could take it. Still, it's nice to have a car and freedom to be able to go where I need to go. It's great. I just commented on Edgar's ATS too, lol. It's really popular. You're really coming along on yours. Keep up the good work, and the grass will be finished before you know it!!

Who can ever figure out why cats do what they do? LOL! Your stitching is very lovely and I am hoping also things slow down for you some.

Looking good Margaret. The grass is a minor detail to turn this into a stunning sampler - Sandra.

I'm stitching what seems like endless grass right now so I understand. :) ATS is looking good. I love all of the different parts.
My son could have cared less about getting his license, but he did when he turned 16. He still doesn't do a lot of driving though. :)
That is funny given the way Mia feels towards your daughter that she would curl up next to her. Who can understand what goes on in a cat's head. :) Sweet picture!

Wow that ATS is a magnificent design isn't it? So many elements to enjoy and your perfect stitching makes it even better.

Awesome progress, Margaret! You are probably the fastest ATS stitcher of all time! Your DD is just beautiful, I hope she got good news on her apartment today.
I wish my boys had waited to drive.... 'nuff said!

Have a great week!

ATS looks great. There is a lot of grass at the bottom...but I know that you will wizz through it.
Glad to know that the kids are making progress getting settled.
Keep cool and keep stitching :)

It's horribly hot here in MN too; we're just not used to so many days of this kind of heat and humidity. I know others have it far worse though, particularly those on the east coast with no power! Counting my blessings!

Love, love, LOVE ATS!

Finally catching up with all my blog buddies - missed reading about your "happenings", Margaret - and oh boy, have you been busy! Congratulations on the graduation, entrance to college, apartment for your son - I can't imagine. Mine has been at community college this past year and I really can't imagine him living away. Hard to let them grow up, but that's what we raised them to do, right?! Hope you have a wonderful 4th and have some time to relax.

OH - I forgot - your stitching the past couple weeks is awesome, as usual. I love the paper head - it's cool and different than anything I've seen.

Lois said...

Good luck with the grass!!! ATS is looking great. You can guess I'll be parked in front of the tv today!!!

ATS is lovely! The girl child looks busy. Hope you are making it through the horrible heat. We have it too. BTW, you can't mess up when growing mints. But best to use pots because they take over everything if left to grow in the ground.

Tons of gorgeous progress on ATS. Not thinking about the grass works ^.^

Who knows what's going on in Mia's head. She's cute though.

Hugs,
Veronica.

Your ATS is coming along nicely. One of ours is like that, she acts like she doesn't like me, and pushes and pulls when I pick her up, But she sleeps on my side of the bed and on my jeans at nite, and will come to see an jump in my lap for a minute, go figure. I think its a girl thing..

It's great to see ATS getting some attention again. Such a great design. I can hear you on the grass but one day you'll have to attack it, lol. I wish you all the best for it.
