Mary Allen Sampler by Samplers Remembered
40ct RR Creme Brulee
NPI fibers
I'm so happy she's done!
Now for an Ann. Do you remember Ann? Ann Wheatley that is. The SAL for Ann Wheatley at the Attic finished in September, but with all that's been going on, I forgot to post my finish of her on my blog. Well, here she is.
Isn't she lovely?
I love her colors! I used the fabric and fibers provided by the Attic for the SAL.
And now my new start. Does anyone know who she is?
She's Ann Smith from the Scarlet Letter. Here's a link to her full picture. I'm using 36ct Vintage Light Examplar so that I don't go crazy when the over one parts come in. There is a ton of over one. I'm also using the AVAS called for. I love her colors! The inner gold border is supposed to be done in tiny eyelet stitches, but Marsha says you don't have to if you don't want to and I'm not. Too time consuming!
In other news, we managed to go visit a couple of colleges for the boy child this past weekend. Which is a good thing. We visited a massive college in the city, and a very small college north of us. Very good contrasts. The boy child seems to like both, which is great. I'm sure there are more college visits in our future.
The boy child has been going full speed with school stuff, of course. He got a part in the high school fall production of Noises Off, so every day after school has been 3 hours of rehearsal time. Makes for busy times when you throw in his regular non-school orchestra rehearsals and his jazz band rehearsals in the evenings 2 nights a week. Plus homework of course. But he is loving it and that's the important part. Let's just hope he gets all this college application stuff done in time!
Here is the boy child and Mia, sleeping partners once again. The boy child hasn't been getting enough sleep as usual, so a nap happened to make up for it.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I always enjoy visiting with you all!

Oh my goodness, how does your son keep up with it all?! Best wishes!
Your finish just knocks my socks off. WOW! And of course I absolutely love what you're working on. You choose such amazing projects.
I've seen Mary Allen on a couple of blogs recently and it's making me itch to get my chart out and get started. I'm going to be disciplined and wait until I can give her my full attention, though.
Great finish on Ann Wheatley and wonderful start on Ann Smith. I was drooling over her on the Attic's website. Another one for my wish list.
Good look with the college apps! Remembering all the details for them can be stressful.
Mary is just stunning!
I think I will have to get this one! I love reds in a sampler.
Beautiful as always !
Congrats on finishing Mary Allen... she looks fantastic. Your Ann Wheatley looks fantastic too!
YGG for starting Ann Smith. that is one gorgeous sampler. If I can manage to get through Elizabeth Sheffield and all her over one I may be tempted to stitch Ann S.
Gorgeous samplers!
Your finishes are stunning!! I love both of them AND your new Ann start~~ You are a true inspiration to me Margaret!!! Always, Faye
Oh Margaret, how wonderful the two finished samplers are. Congratulations on both.
Ohh! Beautiful finishes!! And i love the new start to!

Stunning finishes Margaret! I particularly like the colours of Mary Allen and that vase/urn of huge flowers in the centre, so out of proportion to the buildings. Reminds me of the BOAF piece with the flowers growing out of the tiny house (can't remember what it's called now, even though I did stitch it!)
Your DS looks so cute wrapped in that quilt with Mia next to him. Good luck on the college hunting front!
WOW! Two gorgeous finishes:))) Very very nice.
Good progress on your new start, love the colors!
Cute pics of Mia and your son:)
Congratulations Margaret on your finishes. Mary Allen and Ann Wheatley are stunning - great job! I have Ann Smith on my want list along with many others. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Margaret, both of your breath-taking finishes are astoundingly beautiful! And your new start...BE STILL MY HEART! Love that one too ;)
The sleeping partners back at it ;o)
Katie's not been getting enough sleep either, she's been doing her fair share of napping at any time she can grab :)
Both of the finishes are beautiful! Really love the new start. The bird is gorgeous.
WOW! They are both gorgeous - you must feel very proud. That pile of quilts looks so cosy - the obvious place for a nap!
Fantastic Margaret. Mary Allen is so much prettier than I expected so I'm glad I got to see her stitched. Ann is a looker too, and Grant will be a knock out. I'll have to just admire the photos on that one cause over one is not for me! That Mia just loves your busy busy boy. She will certainly miss him!
ooohhhh well done on the finishes :) and way to go on the new start :) and love the photo with the boy child and Mia asleep with the quilt :) love mouse xxxx
Mon Dieu qu'ils sont beaux ! quel talent ! vous avez des doigts de fée mon amie,

Mary Allen and Ann Wheatley are beautiful! I love the colors in Ann Wheatley too, there is something about the blue that attracts my eye. Love your new start also.
Cute picture of your son and Mia. :) Good luck with the college hunt.
You are just knockin' out those finishes, Margaret! Inspiring as always. :) They're both gorgeous samplers, and I love your new start, too!
Congratulations on two gorgeous finishes! Lovely new start! Teenagers seem to think they don't need to sleep, good thing for naps!
Another gorgeous finishes from you! They both look beautiful!! And I see Ann Smith will be a good addition to your A&E sampler collection. Mia looks so comfy napping with your boy on the antique quilts. I'm sure as the weather gets cooler and cooler, she will be a great napping companion :)
Both of your sampler finishes are just stunning, Margaret--congratulations :)
Ah, the old college search... how well, I remember those days :) Good luck to your son in narrowing it down--hope one of the places just really stands out to him!
Oh Margaret...once again STUNNING WORK. The speed at which you stitch is just something else!! I love each and every sampler you stitch. And the your newest choice...yummy!! I so look forward to watching. And of course, BC and Mia are the frosting on the cake.

It is cold enough today for BC's hat; I need to drag out some outerwear accessories. :/
Beautiful finishes. I just love Ann Wheatley. I'm glad I have her to stitch someday! And I love your new start - the colors are gorgeous!! Does he know that like every photo you post of him is him and Mia sleeping? LOL!! I can just picture you tiptoeing in there and snapping photos. ; )

Your son and Mia look so comfy! Who wouldn't want to take a nap when there is such a comfy quilt to snuggle under! Good luck on the college hunt!
Beautiful samplers! I really like Ann Smith, such lovely colors.
I don't feel like I can complain too much about our rain here because so many people have had so much more. I wouldn't mind sharing just a little of it with Texas, though :-)
Beautiful finishes, Margaret! I am partial to Mary Allen though - I just love her colors and the whole style of the sampler. Love your new start, too! The parrot is awesome!!!

Ann is lovely, but you already know that Mary Allen is my favorite! Congratulations!
Love your stitching as always! I saw a production of Noises Off at our Swan Guild Shakespeare Retreat in July. It was hilarious! I'm sure the boy child doesn't get enough sleep...busy,busy,busy! Enjoy him while you can!

Hi Margaret, you are one of the most amazing people that I know. Your stitching, as usual, is lovely and I am amazed at how much you accomplish.
Always love pictures of boy child with Mia sleeping!!! too cute - need to do that with husband and cats!!!
Sorry for being late expressing my condolences to your husband on the loss of his Father. Hope you all are healing from this.
Did not realize that you had been damaged by Irene - hope you all didn't lose too many valuable things.
Take care my friend - until later.
