Snowing?!

Ack!  It's snowing outside!  NOOOOOO!!!!!  They haven't called for much if any accumulation.  I hope they're right!  It's snowing pretty hard right now!

Anyway, thank you for all the birthday wishes for the boy child.  I think he had a good birthday, despite having to do the first session of an online SAT prep course.  Poor kid.

I have a finish to show off.  Here it is.

Jenny Bean Creation Sampler by Shakespeare's Peddler
40ct Vintage Pear (or what was called for)
fibers as called for (GAST)

It was a fun stitch.

And here is my new start.  I'm excited, but I'm also thinking -- oh no, it's really big!  lol!

It's Ann Grant by Shakespeare's Peddler.

Sorry for the dull pictures -- as I said, it's snowing outside!  Anyway, I'm using the called for fabric (Sand Dune) except in 40ct.  And I'm using the called for fibers as well (a mix of AVAS, NPI, Belle Soie, Gloriana, and Threadgatherer).

Here's a picture of the boy child contemplating his birthday cake.  It's actually a cookie cake -- he's had cookie cake for his birthday for years now.

And here is the furry friend, all comfy and cozy.

That object under her head is one of her new "toys."  See if you can figure out what it is.  :D  Mia claimed it for her own.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I always enjoy visiting with you!  The boy child says thank you for all the birthday wishes too!  Have a great week!

Quick addendum:  Merumo is having a raffle of beautiful miniature quilts on her blog to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  Please go to her blog and help out -- you'll get a chance to win a gorgeous quilt in the process!

I have no idea what is under Mia's head. It looks like she is sleeping on the Boy Child's head though. I love that she is snuggled up in a quilt!

Congrats on your JB finish! It's a really cute project. The new project looks good too. You always seem to be working on big projects to me!

I like the colors in JB Creation, and you stitched that up really quickly! Loving Ann G too--I haven't kitted it up yet, but it looks like I'm going to have to. Good heavens on the snow. May it evaporate quickly. We awoke to a thunderstorm this a.m. Typical spring weather.

Congrats on your finish Margaret. JB Creation looks great. I'm so in love with the Ann Grant sampler. I would have started mine, but I'm still waiting for my linen.
Why is it we always seem to fall in love with the really BIG samplers. lol
The boy child may be contemplating his birthday cookie, but he also looks exhausted. Must on been the on-line SAT that wore him out... poor boy.
I haven't a clue what little Mia is resting her head upon.

OMG Snow!! how awful Margaret, I do feel for you:))

Your JB is lovely, looks like you have lots of time to stitch while that snow is falling LOL.

Look forward to seeing your progress on Ann Grant, a lovely sampler:))

The cake looks yummie, hope his day was good-)

Congrats on the gorgeous finish! Nice start on Ann Grant!

Hmmm, I'm undecided between "bra pad" and "segment of ostrich egg-shell" under Mia's head. Lol...

Margaret, all of your finishes are wonderful!
Don't be worried about Ann Grant... at the speed you're stitching you will have her done soon.

Happy belated birthday to your talented son!

Well....I just washed our bathing suits so I am guessing Mia is resting her head on a bikini top insert :-) Makes a cute pillow for her!

I hope you will soon have more Spring like weather. Happy stitching! Angie

Wow! I can't believe you are already finished with the Creation Sampler! It looks great.

My guess for the cat's toy? I think it kind of looks like she's found the padding from a bra and turned it into her new best friend. : )

I love your sampler, congratulations on a gorgeous piece. I had to look to see where you lived because it's been snowing here ALL day and now ice is falling from the sky. You live in NY and I live in NH.

Ohhh, you finished one of my favorites from market this year. It looks fabulous! Congrats on the finish. And now you're on to Ann Grant, such pretty colors.

I have no idea what Mia is sleeping on, but she looks so cute.

Ok, I think I am convinced that I need that Creation Sampler - gotta e-mail Theresa... I guess that would be payback for the e-bay link I sent you!!

I had to laugh at Mia - she is such a hoot - to me it looks like she is laying on a pig ear or a bra ( so random, I know)

We do cookie cakes here as well - I have to bake them though, since no one makes them here. LOL.

Nancy said...

Your Creation Sampler is just beautiful! Pretty new start too.

Mia looks so comfy covered up with the quilt - ah contentment!

I wish I could send you our weather! It is in the low 70s, and the trees and spring flowers are beginning to bloom!

What a beauty, Margaret--I truly love the colors and design... You did your usual marvelous (and quick!) stitching on it :)

I can't believe you're having more snow--hang in there! It HAS to end one of these days!

Wow, you finished JB quickly! It looks great! I love Ann Grant - the colors are right up my alley but she'll have to wait a while....

We are supposed to get ice and snow tonight - I'm SICK of it! Enough already!

Can't wait to see your next Ann update!

Is that a shoulder pad? It reminds me of the pads that you get in a jacket here and there. lol
Kitties are silly. All of them are 'junkers' at heart. Give them an unused household item or a piece of trash and they're happy as can be.
Congrats on your finish!!!!! It came out awesome. :)

Congrats on a lovely finish! Love your new start too!! What a yummy looking birthday cake! Hope the snow doesn't last too long - brrrhhh!!!!!

Let There Be Light is just stunning! Your work is also so inspirational. I can't wait to see more of Ann Grant. Sorry I missed the Boy Child's bday. DH was in the hospital all week and it is still pretty hectic around here.

Your JB Creation Sampler is looking gorgeous, congratulations and a nice start to Ann Grant.

Happy Birthday to the Boy Child. I notice you've got the latest 'Boy & Penguin' book in the photo with the cake. Rosie is a big fan of them and one of her birthday treats was her first trip to the theatre to see a production of Lost and Found, it was a huge hit.
