See Jane's leaves

I decided after a few more flowers to tackle the huge mass of leaves on the tree in the middle of Jane.  I think I was dreading the leaves almost as much as the over one verse.  Huge masses of leaves are not my thing, either with cross stitch or with applique.  But I'm happy to say that the leaves aren't going to defeat me.  I'm currently on the second color of green in the leaves, so I'm getting there!  And I got that evil serpent outlined too.

Jane Atkinson by the Scarlet Letter
40ct Sugared Coffee from Sassy's Fabrics
Au Ver Soie Silks as called for in chart

I will be happy to get the leaves all done.  Once I'm through with them, I can get back to regularly scheduled stitching -- ie flowers, alternating with a line of over one verse.  And other matters too of course.  Like Adam and Eve.

In other news, the boy child was off for part of the weekend on a trip upstate with his good friend and the friend's dad.  They were supposedly inspecting some fields on his friend's family farm up north for possible paintball scenario games in the future, but I think they also just had fun.  The highlight of the trip for the boy child was probably the "quad four" that he got to ride.

No surprises -- he would love to have one now that he knows how to drive one.  lol!  Thank goodness there isn't anywhere around here that would be good for driving it.  Whoops, I hope the boy child doesn't see that comment.  :D  (Note the vintage Korean War helmet the boy child is sporting.  He got it at a local store.)

I think the boy child didn't get much sleep during all the fun.  Why do I say that?  Well, this picture says it all.

He spent a large part of Sunday sleeping.  lol!  I think he had a great time though.  And he got to experience the country life for a change.  He was amazed at how little traffic there was in that area of the world.  :D

Thanks again for stopping by and saying hi.  It's always fun to visit with you all.  Hope you have a great week!

Oh Wow Margaret! I am so in awe of your fast stitching! Your sampler is looking wonderful! Hang in there with those leaves. I do sympathize, as they are definately not my thing either.
So fun for you son to get out and do some "boy" things in the country. I don't understand this "paint ball and air soft" war obsession. My son has one too, much to my chagrin!
As for the 4 wheelers, they are really fun, I must say. They are dangerous, however. My dad has several and they has been wrecked by my brothers several times. I don't think we will get one anytime soon, even though we live right on the mountain!
Funny picture of you son sleeping. Does he know you pasted that yet? That's exactly what I was doing yesterday too! LOL.
Have a great week.

Margaret, your Jane Atkinson is looking wondeful. Based on the photos of your blog, I ordered Jane last week from Scarlet Letter. Now I just need to pick up the fibers and fabric. Great progress though. It is looking great!

Hi Miss Margaret!! Your Jane is just BEAUTIFUL. You are such an accomplished stitcher...I always love watching your pieces take shape. I'm still working away on Charlotte Clayton...I'm on the last cat with just a little border to do. I'm hoping within the next two weeks to have her all done! Love the pic's of the boy child too!! They play hard, and sleep hard!! Have a wonderful week!! Hugs

OH my - your Jane is something else, and you have gotten so much done. My hands have been bus helping Olivia, but now she is getting better with using her hands with the casts on. I have been so lazy about blogging - its on the schedule for this week and will have to be a massive post.

Again, your Jane is absolutely stunning. Your son looks like he played hard all weekend :).

Wow Margaret! Have you made some serious progress on this or what in the past week. I'm bowled over! She is looking soooooo good. I want her! LOL I hope you get through those leaves fast, but I definitely know what you mean about those things - boring. I am definitely going to have to do her (someday).

Your son looks like he was just totally wiped out from all the fun. My kids would love to get on those things, but I don't let them (mean mom, I know)!!

What a great picture of your son zonked out - too funny (has he seen it yet?) Paintball is a big sport here at the university - never tried it myself. The four wheeling I have done and love it! My parents used to have a farm and my brothers and I had a blast riding.

Jane is beautiful! As usual, your needles are just flying. What a gorgeous piece!

Enjoy your day, Margaret.

Awesome progress, Margaret! This is one beautiful sampler - as is everything you choose to stitch!

Your BC is so cute! He sure looks tuckered out. Does he ever look at your blog? My kids never do so I'd be safe posting a picture like that but if they knew, I'd be in big trouble!

Have a great week!

Margaret - I had to laugh - I'm stuck in the same leaf outlining hell on my A&E rug that is adapted from Jane (sigh) I looked at it yesterday when i was going to rug guild but I opted for doing boring black backround on my Merrie Halloween - thankfully there is NO wording on my hooked version. I LOVE seeing your jane come to life and very quickly I might add. You are my stitching idol! Hugs Mel

Jane is gorgeous and you are just flying along on her. :) The leaves look great. I don't think leaves are much fun to stitch either. Or snowflakes. Looks like your son had a great time.

Love your sampler. Jane looks already great and I think you have a lot of patience to stitch it. I admire you for that.

Wow! Your Jane is coming along beautifully! And you stitch so fast! Is there anything so beautiful as a sleeping teenager? My freshman seems to spend equal time sleeping and bent over in the frig looking for something to eat:!
