I know you won't believe it -- but I have a stitching finish!!!
This is, of course, Yellow Submarine, by Blackbird Designs. I stitched it on the called for Cedar Plank linen but in 40ct (I think it was Cedar Plank!) by Lakeside linens. I used mostly the called for Gentle Arts threads, but not all. Once again I got frustrated by how the overdyeds weren't even close to the expected colors and changed a few colors to other GA colors and some DMC threads for the sub.
**An appeal to designers: please stop using these overdyed threads!! It's impossible to get the colors you use in your designs since the threads are never consistent in color. It leads to frustration for your fans.
Anyway, it was a fun stitch. Anyone who has followed me for a long time knows I'm a huge Beatles fan.
I also finished and blocked the back of my Right Angle Sweater. This one seems to be taking forever to knit!
The boy child has been settling back into being at home. The living room is looking like a living room again, and boy child's room has been cleaned and rearranged to his liking. And Mia is quite content to have him back, albeit with a few hisses along the way (she always has to show her displeasure at the long abandonment the boy child subjected her to).
We've also had an outing or two, which is always nice. Just missing our girl child.
(The sushi was a different day from the other pics in Cold Spring. In case you were wondering.)
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a great week!

Class of 2016
It's hard to believe, but our boy child is now a college graduate! This past Saturday May 7, he graduated from Berklee College of Music. I still can't get over it! It was a very busy weekend, full of proud moments and also some hard work.
But first, a little knitting. I started the Right Angle from Pom Pom Magazine issue 16, by Georgia Farrell. I'm using the lovely yarn I bought at Loop London, Shilasdair Luxury DK with camel. (i'm farther along by now. The color is most accurate in the swatch picture.)
OK, back to graduation. The boy child's graduation was Saturday morning. He, along with two colleagues from his work at video services, had produced a senior video for the ceremony, so the three of them got to introduce their work before it was shown. I will show a miscellany of pictures from the ceremony.

Boy child walking to receive his diploma (things were clearer on the big screens, so yeah)
The graduate with his sister and cousin
With his close friend from home
We also had to move boy child out of his apartment. Thank goodness for the help of my sister, BIL, and nephew on Saturday for the moving out! Lots of packing, cleaning and moving (the packing and cleaning was mostly done Friday).
Saying goodbye to his home away from home
Then we enjoyed a bit of down time at my sister's house before driving home Sunday. Don't you love that blue wall?
Needless to say, Mia was highly stressed out by the activity of moving all the boy child's possessions into the living room once we got home!
(That's the double bass there on the bottom left, in its case)
Things are looking much better already, both in the living room and in the boy child's room. Boy child is doing a good job of cleaning out and moving back into his room!
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.
And congratulations to our sweet boy on graduating from Berklee. We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what the future holds in store for you!
