Poor Jane.....

Poor Jane.  Summer has started -- at least sort of started.  Enough to make the hours dedicated to fun stuff much more limited.  So poor Jane has suffered.  She has progressed, but not as much as in the past.  Ah well.

At least now I know where her bottom limits are and how big she will be when finished.

Oh, and something you should know if you're planning to stitch Jane.  You will definitely need more than one skein of more than just one color.  Only one color is listed as needing two skeins.  I would say it's much more like 4 or more.  When I finish Jane, I will post which colors I went into for a 2nd skein.

Since I didn't know I would need more than one skein, I'm going to have dye lot issues with two colors.  One isn't that much of a difference, just slight.   But the other color!  Whoa Nelly!  Huge difference!  Luckily no one but me will know that certain leaves and stems were supposed to be the same color but aren't.

Another reason why poor Jane didn't get as much attention as usual.  I've caught the Attic 24 crochet bug.   I'd been wanting to try my hand at crochet anyway.  But when I saw Lucy's blog, well, I was bowled over to say the least.  So this past weekend, I ventured out to a yarn store that I hadn't known existed, bought a few balls of yarn, plopped myself in front of Youtube, and taught myself to crochet.  By the end of the weekend, I had the beginnings of my Lucy bag to show for it.

Please keep in mind that I've never crocheted before, and then just ignore the flaws.  :D   I'm hoping to make this bag, and then move on to the big goal of learning to make granny squares so I can make beautiful throws and pillows like Lucy has on her blog.

Poor Jane will also have to suffer this week because I need to do some pre-stitching for a class I'm taking this coming weekend.  I'm hoping my friend Kathy (no blog) is right and that it will be a quick stitch since I haven't even started yet!

Becky surprised me by gifting me one of her wonderful pin pillows!  Just out of the blue, for no reason!  I was so thrilled to receive her Hoppity pin pillow.

It is just so amazing!  So perfect in every way!  Becky, thank you soooo much!  I am just so touched by your thoughtfulness and generosity!  I will treasure this forever!

In other news, the boy child just has 4 final exams left and then he will be done with school for the year.  He only goes into school for the exam, so he went in earlier today for his first final and he's home already.  He'll have one a day each day this week except Friday, and then the last exam is next Tuesday.  I know he's looking forward to the end of school.  The girl child is into her second full week of her internship.  Seems like she's enjoying it, which is great!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by and saying hi.  I love hearing from you and visiting with you all!  Hope you have a great week!
