I've since gotten to the armhole shaping which involves casting off for the armhole part but casting on steek stitches so I can continue to knit in the round.
See the vertical stripes above the hole? Those are the steek stitches.
I'm using the color palette that Jamieson and Smith curated for their Spring/Summer KAL. I love it so much! I think I left out just one of the colors, the lighter, solid blue-green color.
I just thought I'd pop in, and now I'm popping out again. Hope everyone's summer (or fall) is going well! Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.

As an non-knitter, your knitting ability makes my head spin! Wow! That is awesome!
ReplyDeletehaha! Love Mia.♥
As a semi-knitter, your knitting ability makes my head spin as well!!! Beautiful stitches....lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Robyn
This is gorgeous! I had to look up 'steek'... never heard that one before. Did you actually have to cut into your seam or is this like casting-off, casting on.. buttonhole style?
ReplyDeleteSteeks - how scary Margaret. Mia looks happy to oblige:-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful and knit to perfection. Can't imagine how complicated this is and am so impressed with your skill.
ReplyDeleteAB FAB Margaret ! I can't wait to see how the "steeking" goes - that is the part that always scares me away from Fair Isle knitting in the round for garments but I do have several beloved Alice Starmore kits in my stash - one day - maybe! Hope you enjoy Wimbleton - I know it's a tradition for you. Enjoy your week ! Mel
ReplyDeleteAwesome design, Margaret! Enjoy Wimbledon...
ReplyDeleteReally an amazing looking vest, Margaret. Did you teach yourself to knit? I still hope to learn the basics when I retire :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the tennis watching with Miss Mia!
Such pretty colors in your vest! Doesn't steeking - is there such a word? - involve cutting? Scary. : ) That is so sweet of Mia to be so obliging. My interest in tennis was reawakened watching the Australian Open while my husband was recuperating, so I'm hoping to be able to watch a little bit of Wimbledon. I know you will enjoy watching. : )
ReplyDeleteLove, love the vest. Funny pic of Mia as a desk! she is so handy.
ReplyDeleteI so admire people who are able to put colors together to form a pallet. Cheers to Mia!
ReplyDeleteYour Cruden is amazing! Thank you for the close up pic of the steek stitches. It makes more sense to me now. The idea of steeking is enough for me to break out in a sweat!
ReplyDeleteHI Margaret, I have returned back to the blogging world, first congratulations on your son's graduation, what a great education and opportunity for him. Love the right hand sweater and the sleeves are just perfect, how did you know to make them smaller - good job.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you have become quite the knitter love this new project you are working on.
I used to knit a lot many years ago. But what you are knitting here goes much farther than what I have ever knitted back then. Just gorgeous, the colours, the pattern, everything.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this, and the colors are a dream. Beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteMargaret I am woefully behind on reading blogs once again. I have to say your knitting is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful knitting, Margaret, you are such an inspiration.
