This is my progress on the Red Deer Sampler.

Still loving that border.

Here is my fussy cut star for the week using another Jo Morton Woodland fabric.

We said goodbye to the boy child for a bit again.  He's back in Boston working at his campus job and being creative.

Mia went into sleep mode as usual after the boy child left.  I never know if she is recovering from the boy child or is depressed cause the boy child left.  After a day or two, she perked up again, also as usual.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  Hope everyone has a great week.

  5. Your sampler is beautiful, Margaret! Are you stitching on Weeks linen? I purchased some and it seems the holes are harder to see then on any other linen I have:( When our daughter moved out the cat that had claimed her was very upset. When she comes by for a visit he just gives her the cold shoulder and doesn't want to have anything to do with her.

  7. Wonderful progress on the Red Deer, and another lovely fussy cut star!! With our college kids, we always say we are empty nesters with a revolving door--they are here, they are gone, they are back...oh, they're gone again, but they will be back!! : )

  12. I'm debating getting the threads for REd Deer since Drema is having an amazing thread sale, however, I'm lending the chart to Melissa so...perhaps I should wait?! Anywho, yours is looking fabulous. I so enjoy watching you stitch it!! Love your fussy cut...when's the photo coming out of all your fussy cuts? In the end? Aw, poor Mia sad the boychild left. Well she seems like she likes to sleep lots...lol all cats do! Hugs to her and you!

  15. Red Deer is really loaded with color. I love that border too but doubt I could execute it properly. Not one corner would meet correctly! It's beautiful.

  22. Such a beautiful sampler! Sounds like your son has an interesting summer ahead of him. Mia seems to have figured out that a good nap can make just about anything better. :)

  25. Ya gotta love a sun-burned deer lolling about in the flowers. My friends who live in houses around here experience the same thing in real life!

  26. Aww...little Mia really looks sad now that her favorite human has left for a while! I'm sure you're missing him, too, Margaret. Hope your pretty stitching and tennis-watching help fill the void!

  27. Mia is such a cute little cookie. I think she misses your son, they seem such good friends. Our Poppy is like that with our son and yet Rosa shows no interest in him at all.

  32. Hi, Margaret,
I love your red deer sampler. The deer looks sort of raspberry rather than red? Is that true? I have never stitched on of Gigi's designs, may have to do this one. Poor little Mia is on such a roller coaster with your son coming and going. Hope you had a nice Father's Day.
