Wimbledon withdrawal....

Here is my progress on the Hornbook Bestiary for the week.

The first row of animals is done!  Yay!

Here is my fussy cut star for the week, using another Wiscassett fabric from Minick and Simpson.

The boy child's sweater has gotten longer, slowly but surely.  I'm still finding it difficult to work with wool in these hot summer months.

A certain someone wanted to come home for a week for July 4 so he could celebrate with his friends at home.  We were happy to oblige.

He's been off with his friends a lot so far, but we've still had some time with him as well.  Mia too.

It's time for Wimbledon withdrawal.  The men's final was today -- a fantastic match -- and now it's time to start missing all the wonderful tennis and the Wimbledon atmosphere.  Sigh.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.

  4. This week's Fussy Star took my breath away. I am so impressed with the way you got the "flames" to meet in the middle and the symmetry of the thing. It really is spectacular.

  6. Great stitching! We were glued to the tube...what a fabulous match! Now we are in serious sports withdrawal...nothing for us till football starts in August...we're not big on baseball. Have a great week!

  7. I'm continually amazed at how much you accomplish in a single week. And now I'm wondering how you did this and watched all that tennis at the same time! Instant replay?

Everything looks so gorgeous and perfect!

  8. Love that star! What a stunning quilt that's going to be. It's funny to see the dog stitched like it's charted. I couldn't resist customizing mine to look like Miss Shelby. LOL!

  12. WooHoo - great progress! I don't know how you can work with wool any during these hot days! Even if you don't have a lot of face-to-face time with the DS, it's just a good feeling knowing he's sleeping in the house, isn't it? We KNOW Mia is happy, don't we?!

  13. It must've been so nice to have your boy home. I'm sure Mia agrees!

Great progress on all your projects. I can imagine it must not be fun to knit with wool in the summer heat!

Wimbledon was very exciting this year for us Canadians. Though I was busy watching the World Cup, the buzz was all over the news here! I'm sure I will have World Cup withdrawal after this week too!

  19. What great progress! I can't say I've ever really gotten into watching sports. But I'm sure it's like me and PBS Masterpiece Mystery. I look forward to it every year and miss it when it's gone.

  20. You're really moving along nicely on that gorgeous sampler, Margaret--I'm always amazed at what a fast stitcher you are! Glad you enjoyed the tennis (although I'm ashamed to say I don't know a thing about it--not even the scoring!).

  21. Oh I miss Wimbledon too! There really isn't anything like it for gentle atmosphere. We'll have the U.S. Open soon, and that's a close second to W for good stitching accompaniment. :)

  22. Another great star! Love these!

How nice to have your son home for the holiday. I'm sure it really doesn't matter why he came home as long as you got a hug (or 10).

  32. Great the progress you made on your Bestiary Hornbook. And so fast, it's just amazing.
Good that you could spend some time with your son. When they are away at university or working at their job family time becomes a rare thing.
