The end of stitching time.....

I've made more progress on the Plantation Sampler.

I have to admit I'm looking forward to the end, which is always bad when you're not close to the end.

But when I stand back and look at the whole piece, I'm very pleased with it. So I guess I'm doing ok and not getting bored.

The pictures look a bit washed out compared to the real piece -- what can I say? I'm not a good photographer. Sorry!

It's exam time at the high school here. Sort of like summer, but not summer at all. The kids just go in when they have exams scheduled and otherwise are at home. So no more getting up early unless you have an early exam. Stitching time will go down from here on out -- summertime is starting!

Hope you all have a good week!

  1. I cannot believe how fast you stitch! Amazing...you will be done before you know it. Have fun filling in the grass area :)

  3. Margaret - This is looking just wonderful. I can't believe how much you get stitched! You've inspired me to start this and I actually ordered fabric like yours (only 36 ct, they were out of 40) and want to put some stitches into it soon. Won't go as fast as you, because, summer is here and the stitching time just disappears! I was going to make a comment about filling in the grass portion, but then I realized that filling in grass may be perfect when you don't have a lot of time - you don't have to think too much - just pick up and stitch. It's looking great, Margaret.

  4. What wonderful workmanship this piece has! I am starting this piece myself, along with a couple of other gals. I have started a blog for it. I hope you don't mind me putting a link to your piece on our blog. BTW, you are welcome to join if you care to.

  9. What a beautiful piece! I've already decided that I'm going to schedule stitching time for the summer. Not sure what the kids will be doing while I'm stitching.

I know what you mean about summer and yet not summer. One of mine finished classes today and just has to go in Thursday & Friday for finals/Regents. But daughter has all this week and next (4th grade), though I can sleep in a bit since she doesn't start until 8:30.

  10. Oh Margaret! This piece is just gorgeous! I know how you feel about wanting to finish something - I do that too, all the time, maybe not so much that I dislike something as I want to move on to the next new thing! You'll have it done soon, I can feel it! ;-)

  21. Margaret-you stitch so fast. Did Siobhan loan you the turbo needle?

How do you feel about kids going on just when they have an exam? I got so confused on exam week this year. I'd wake Jack up he didn't have to go to school but the neighbor kid who carpooled with us did. Then the neighbor kid would get out early and Jack would still be in school I couldn't keep track of who was supposed to be where. I personally think they should be on the regular school schedule and having study halls because my kids sure don't study at home. LOL

Then again maybe I just want the house to myself a little while longer, selfish me.....
