I think I will tackle this by days, so here is our departure and arrival day, Saturday and Sunday.
Here is the father type as we board our plane to London from JFK. So exciting!
The Heathrow Express to Paddington Station, one of our "home" stations for the week. Everything thrilled me in London, from the chimney pots to the architecture to the tube stations. And now I know why they are called "tube" stations too!

Our flat was very close to the Bayswater Road and Hyde Park. Thanks to Sandra SamplerLover for the suggestion of which area in London to stay!
We went for a walk in the evening to Kensington Palace. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are such pretty parks!
And we managed an English breakfast on arrival
And fish and chips for the father type and a burger for me at the local pub for dinner.
I even had a pale ale!

I even managed to watch the end of the French Open final in the pub!
I will post over the next several days, I think. Overkill? Maybe. :D

I'm really glad that I could be of help with your first trip to one of my favourite places. Isn't Bayswayer wonderful. So close to everything and so easy to get around. Looking forward to seeing more photos. Did you get to a Windsor. That's one of my favourite places.

ReplyDeleteOh so great that you are breaking your every other week rule for letting us travel through London with you. I have never been there so it will be interesting. But I have already had fish and chips in GB and each time it was delicious.

ReplyDeleteFrom the pics I'd say you were actually in Kensington Gardens rather than Hyde Park (there's no noticeable boundary and people tend to call it all HP, but they are officially two different parks...). Did you see the statue of Peter Pan? Always enjoy going there. Great pics, and what mouthwatering fish and chips (that's one of the few British culinary products which I actually miss!)
