Dorothy Walpole by Scarlet Letter
40ct Heritage by Picture This Plus (Colorscapes)
AVAS called for, plus 2 Belle Soie
Just a note: the lighter color in the strawberry in the border was too close to the darker color, so I substituted BS Pink Quartz. I also didn't have AVAS 4241, so I substituted BS Biscotti.
I'm loving this one, although it took a while to get back into doing eyelet letters.
And then I got totally distracted by KwiltyKim's knitting. I had to look up that pattern to see what she was doing with those pretty colors. And I fell in love.
See what I mean? I even got started on the knitting -- 360 stitches to a row.
I'm in love. It's the Wearwithall Stole from the Wearwithall book. Gorgeous! And perfect for knitting during Wimbledon!
Mia has been putting herself in wherever possible. I washed a quilt, and the next thing I know,
Yes, she did that herself. She's also been hanging out a lot. And playing.
(The tunnel is from the kids' childhood. We're not sure if Mia likes it or not.)

ReplyDeleteLove that yarn. I wonder why people decide to start knitting and crocheting in the summer of all times? I've been going through patterns too and can't figure out why I don't do that stuff in the winter.
And great pictures of Mia, but does she really like laying on her back.? That's a funny picture!

Love that you started Dorothy and the eyelet stitches are so much fun. I'm doing some on Isabella...and once you get started ...... Love your stole too. I've ordered some things from The Yarnery, thanks to Kim, and I've been so pleased with the results!!

Pretty stitching, and that stole is beautiful. Guess I hadn't looked at the result on Kwilty Kim's. Don't think I could keep up with tennis and knit! Mia and BC look relaxed and having fun. Love her quilt snuggling maneuvers! Enjoy your holiday celebrations, too!

Dorothy Walpole is a lovely sampler - I started her but have made zero progress to date. That's a lot of stitches to be knitting - my stretch is about 50 - as soon as I go above that my wrists and arms complain.

ReplyDelete360 stitches per row! I think I'd get bored after one row. Pretty yarn and I'm sure the finished product will be beautiful, but glad it's you doing it and not me.
Mia is just the smartest and cutest. How did she manage to get in the quilt that way?

ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much you accomplished on Dorothy in a week!! That would take me a month. I am not a knitter, but appreciate the beautify yarns, Mia must think its great fun when you knit! She looks so content to have your son home. I went to the website you linked to in your post and toyed briefly with signing up for Dear Jane, but then common sense prevailed:) I do love the quilt, but have never even finished the last two BOM's that I was a part of.

Your start is gorgeous and you make me want to start mine but I want to finish Elizabeth Sheffield first. I just love the photo of your beautiful kitty Mia in the quilt!! She is so so sweet!!
