Finished??

I think I've finished The Hart.  What do you think?

The Hart Lives Where it Loves by Scarlet Letter
40ct. Lambswool provided in kit
AVAS provided

I'm not sure what I think about the initials in the heart.  What do you think?  Are they ok?

I stitched this for our upcoming 30th wedding anniversary.  Since the father type reads my blog, I figured I'd better just show it to him now.  After showing it to him, I discovered it's a big possibility that he might not have even noticed the dates and initials if he'd seen it on my blog and I hadn't said anything.  :D   Oh well.

I also made some progress on my Hex on the Beach quilt.

The quilt has 3 rows now, and a 4th is ready to be sewn on.

It's also time for TUSAL.   Here are my ORTs for the month.

And here are my ORTs so far this year.

The father type is on a business trip this week.  Mia is never happy when she sees packing going on.  Here she is exploring the father type's luggage.  (Yes, the father type uses my Vera Bradley pieces when he travels.  Isn't he cute?)

I didn't work on Manifesto this past week, but I'm hoping to work on her a bit soon, maybe today or tomorrow -- or both.

Let me know what you think of The Hart.  At this point, I think I'm ready to call it done.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week.

So all this quilting talent has been hidden from us by your sampler obsession! Cool to see it peeking out!

  6. I think the initials inside the heart are romantic - like initials carved into a tree.

Everyone check their bags before they leave - Mia may snuggle down...

  10. I declare The Hart to be finished... and it's a beautiful finish too. The initial letter style compliments the border lettering.
Love seeing all those hexies stitched together and turned into lovely rows. YGG!
Poor Mia... any time our fur kids see those suitcases being loaded up they know someone they love is leaving. Such creatures of habit... they dislike any type of change.

  15. WOW Margaret - I think it looks great - I was hoping to put my parents first names in that heart but I'm sure it would have to be over one but their names are fairly short. I like the way you displayed the dates. It is really pretty - congrats on the finish ! Your hexie quilt is so awesome - what great colors. Hope you and Mia have a good and productive week with your DH away. Mel

  17. Congratulations! It looks great.

You gotta love a man who's secure enough to carry a Vera on a business trip. Mine wouldn't not even on a dare. LOL! Tell your honey he's my hero today!

Have a good stitchy week hanging with Miss Mia!

  18. Yes to the initials! Yes to done! Move on! Move on! (LOL--I'm impatient to see what you'll start next, although it's lovely. Next!) Laughing about hubby carrying the Vera Bradley on a trip. Good for him! (Even if Tom were willing to carry it, I wouldn't let him, because darned if he wouldn't set it in a puddle, and if I can help it, my Veras don't touch the dirty ground.)

  19. I love the finish! Funny about your DH, I stitched "I Do" by Bent Creek for an anniversary. My husband was like it's nice...I had to point out that it said, "I do" had our initials and wedding date. :-P
