Adam and Eve

Don't you love Adam and Eve?  I do.

This is where I am on Adam and Eve by the Scarlett House.  I've finished all the motifs and now am working my way up to the top with pretty alphabets in red.  It's such a pretty piece!

I got a lovely gift from Laurie of Corgi Cottage.  It's a beautiful handmade laying tool from Kathy of The Unbroken Thread, made by her father. Kathy had a giveaway for two laying tools.  The winner got to keep one and give the other to a friend.  And I am the lucky friend! I know I am going to get a lot of use out of it for a future project.

Thank you, Laurie, and thank you to Kathy too, for having such a wonderful giveaway!  I'm so thrilled to have such a lovely piece!

Christmas break is flying by here.  Two more weeks and we have to take the boy child back to Boston. We've been having good times though.

Celebrated Christmas.

Made dumplings on New Years Day.

We even made it to the mall yesterday for our Johnny Rockets fix.

We also stopped by the Lego store and the boys got nostalgic.

The boy child and Mia have been having their love tussles too.

The father type had to go back to work the day after New Years.  It was nice having him home on vacation.

Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope 2013 is getting off to a good start for everyone!

  2. I do love Adam and Eve Samplers!

I love catching a glimpse of your home life....It makes me miss mine;)

All my children were home at Christmas. It was a piece of heaven!

Now, it's back to the old routine of empty nest, for me!

Back to stitching! Doing Nicola's Scarlet Letter SAL (Emma Miles 1848 - an A&E sampler) and Attic Needlework's SAL of Examplarery's Ann Bowers.

    Happy 2013, Margaret!

  24. Love the new A&E. Very stylish fig leave coverings!

The Lego thing is so funny. I was just having a conversation with the son of some friends about Lego's and how their value has appreciated so much over time if you have any old mint condition sets. All sorts of collectors out there. A sub-culture I knew nothing about!

  25. Wow, Margaret, wonderful progress! The A&E looks great. I'm glad you all had such a good time over the holidays. I'm sure Mia is going to miss her guy when he goes back to Boston (his parents will probably miss him, too. ;) ).

  26. Oh how Lego continues to entertain even when they grow up. I have one who is exactly the same. I love to see Mia, she surely does love your son.

  27. Love the shots of "the boys" and their Legos, Margaret!! That's something they never lose interest in, that's for sure! My middle son still has his large creations on display above the bookshelves in his old room. Oh, I hate to think of all the dust that is up there after all these years!

Your A&E is really looking wonderful--you'll be finished with it in no time...

Legos, how funny, they were a big part of our sons life in his younger years as well. I know what you mean about nostalgia. I can still hear him rooting through his lego bucket looking for pieces... ha!

Talking about the boy child and Mia of course. She's going to be so sad when he has to leave again. :(
I had to look up just what a laying tool was (though, having done that, I feel like I *must* have known that at some point) and that's pretty cool. Makes me want one. Heh. Congrats on your gift!
So glad you had a great holiday!!! :)

And I had to smile real big when I saw your son and DH getting nostalgic with the Legos. We just put up (tub after tub) of Legos because my boys said "they were too old" I thought my husband was gonna :,(
Maybe there is still hope for him one day in the future with a bit of nostalgia ... :)
