SDW is coming. But it's sooooooo looooong.
I've started rolling the other end up cause it's soooooo looooong.
The alphabet was surprisingly enjoyable. Maybe because each letter was easy to finish in a reasonable amount of time? :D And the little motifs under the alphabet were a pleasure too.
Did you notice? The hunchbacked squirrel seems to be following me around.
I know I was looking forward to the peacock -- turned out pretty nice.
I was afraid the colors were going to be too blase, but I think not in the end.
Girl child is home for a month, except for a week where she will disappear with friends to the beach. It's nice having her home for a little while again. It's also odd to see these two rather grown-up looking people in the house who are supposed to be little kids. But aren't.
Thanks as always for stopping by and saying hi. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
I think all those pretty colors made the alphabet more fun to stitch. That's going to be a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!! You'll have to do a picture with something next to a section so we can get an idea on just how big this is!
ReplyDeleteYes it looks very long Margaret, you do have stamina LOL. Very nice though:)
ReplyDeleteHave a good time with your girl, they grow up so fast!
Margaret that's just gorgeous. I'm surprised - would have thought the alphabet would be a pain! There are so many things to take note of encompassed in the sampler's great size. That peacock is very dignified! Have you picked its place of honor yet?
ReplyDeleteSDW is one gorgeous sampler. Love the peacock!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely...the peacock is my favorite. Enjoy the girl child.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh. That's beautiful Margaret. That peacock is so very very very gorgeous. So is the rest of course, but the peacock has catapulted me into drooling stage.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of Mia. Hope she and your daughter will fall in love with each other again during the upcoming month. And wishing you lots of fun having your girl at home. I'm always doing a happy dance when my oldest comes home.
The sampler looks gorgeous Margaret. You know, I thought that the colors would be a little on the dull side too, but that's definitely not the case. Love the lettering too and I think that you're making quick progress!
ReplyDeleteLoved your comment about having the kids around but they're not like little kids anymore. Sigh! Time sure passes quickly doesn't it?
I guess from your writing that the sampler is quite long? ;) It is beautiful, though. I admire your ability to put all the colours together so flawlessly. I struggle with colours myself... I hope the girl child and Mia gets along this time! Maybe Mia has grown up, too? Enjoy having the family all together!
ReplyDeleteYour sampler is looking so good Margaret. Can't wait to see it all finished:)))

ReplyDeleteI love the peacock! I am also drooling over the iris in the small motif border. Good to hear that the alphabet was not oo bad to get through.
ReplyDeleteThe more I see of your sampler, the more I itch to go on-line and get myself a kit from somewhere... It simply looks fantastic! That said, I'd better stick to the pile of WIPs that desperately need some TLC! LOL
Oh Margaret! I love this sampler. You are doing such a fabulous job on it too. I like samplers that change motifs often. It does help with the boredom factor.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your kids while they are home! Hugs to you.
Your peacock is lovely! Congrats on both stitch accomplishments and DD time.
