She's still red -- but I love her!

And she's all done too!

Ann Sandles by With Thy Needle and Thread
40ct RR Iced Capuchino
called for Gentle Arts threads

Yes, she's still quite red.  But she's a pretty one!

The verse doesn't show up that well.  Hmmmmmm.

I stuck in some more personalized initials.  In addition to my initials and the father type's initials (which were already there anyway) at the top, to the right of the house I stuck in the boy child's and the girl child's initials.  And the LS on the left of the house is for my sister and BIL.  (It used to be IS.)  Otherwise, it's as little Ann stitched it.  And as always, I bless any child who is wise enough to stitch her verse over two.  lol!

I've picked up a WIP/UFO to stitch on for now.  We'll see if I stick with it.  (Yes, I do have UFOs.  Way too many of them.)

Over the weekend, the father type and I built a chest of drawers from our go to place for cheap yet well built (more or less) furniture, IKEA.  It's for the boy child's room (which he wasn't happy about -- didn't think it was needed.  But it was.)  Mia decided to help with the building.

She liked it even better when it was lying on its front.  A nice, cozy, dark place.  lol!  Eventually she stopped being in the chest of drawers and watched the action from the boy child's bass instead.

Silly girl!

Thanks to everyone who had suggestions for making things better between the girl child and Mia.  I'm definitely trying a couple of them when the girl child gets back from her summer job.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hi.  I hope everyone has a great week!

  3. Ok...That's one beautiful sampler. Congratulations on another gorgeous piece of art! I've been holding off starting her because I have too many needles in my fires, BUT...seeing your sampler is making my fingers itch to stitch Ann. I could justify a new start since Bee Man is almost finished...hee,hee!
Cute Mia pics, has the boy child been giving her private bass lessons?

  4. Such lovely work you do! And she isn't that red, it is just perfect. I can't believe the girl was only 13 when she made it. Love how Mia fits in the crook of the instrument. Cats find the weirdest places to be.Hope you find a solution for the girl child and the cat.

  18. Oh, she is beautiful, Margaret! Congrats on another gorgeous finish! I like your personalization and had to giggle at your blessing Ann for her over two verse...hehehehehe....

I do hope that Mia and the girl child are able to create a better relationship. Let me know what works! When I dealt with the same situation, it just took time. Well, time and me constantly trying to be loving and "safe"...kitty treats helped a lot too!

    Have a wonderful week!

  20. You are kidding! Ann is all finished already? Congratulations!!! She looks so pretty and I just can't believe how fast you stitched though! I think I keep telling you that on every single project you have finished, but I mean it!! I'm still in the middle of no where of Ann Grant and planning to stitch Ann Sandles, too, but don't know how soon? She is such a charming girl in red... I love :) Mia seems to be having too much fun around your son. Love the picture of her sitting on his music instrument - don't scratch it!, and the best one is her laying down on the bed with him. They both look so peaceful...

  21. You really stitched that quickly. But I can see why.. it's so pretty and looks like so much fun. I always used up the red crayon first back in my school days!

  22. Wow, you're done already! Congratulations, she looks great :)

Maisie would have been in the furniture too - I found her in my yarn chest of drawers the other day, after I'd left the drawer open and turned my back for a second. And we have photos of her inside the framework of our bedroom chest when we moved it to decorate. Hope the thing with Mia and the girlchild can get resolved over the summer - such a shame.
