Boy, is she red!

Sorry, it's just when I took this picture, it made me realize just how red Ann Sandles is.

I guess Ann liked red just as much as I do!  I took the liberty of sticking my initials in under the lefthand tree.  The father type's initials were already there on the left, so I decided mine should be there too.

Ann is coming along!

Here is my TUSAL for July 1.

Okay, okay, here it really is.

I always squish the orts down as they accumulate -- that's all my orts for this year so far.

If you're wondering, yes, I sneaked in another peak at part of my pincushion collection with the first TUSAL pic.  That's a pincushion/doll from Nicol Sayre, one of my favorite doll artists.  She's amazing!  After these two pincushions, though, my collection really isn't that much more.  And no antique pincushions, sadly.  I'll show more another time.

The boy child likes to torture Mia, as you know.  Here is Mia looking very resigned as she's held captive by the boy child.

Silly boy child!

Well, the girl child is back on her college campus, ready to start her summer job down there.  I'm hoping all goes well and she enjoys the job.  Poor girl child was held captive in her room by the mean Mia when she was attempting to pack up to leave.  I think the poor girl child is very sad about the whole thing with Mia.  Wish there was something we could do.

And Wimbledon ended with a new men's and women's champion: Novak Djokovic defeated Rafa Nadal, and Petra Kvitova defeated Maria Sharpova.  So many great matches this year -- it was a great Wimbledon!  I was sad that Murray lost to Nadal though.  Now for some tennis withdrawal.  lol!

Hope everyone in the US has a great 4th of July!  Mia wishes everyone a great week ahead too.  Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!

  7. I'm really enjoying your progress on Ann!! I am loving the red and your intials look great!

Those pincushions are beautiful - I didn't even really notice the jar until you showed the close-up! ;)

Your poor daughter - sounds like Mia really tortured her! I wonder if she was taking all the torture your son gives her and turned it on your daughter! Great pic of Mia in the box - what is it about cats and boxes?

  11. You do such amazing work! And so fast! How do you get time for anything else? :) I am sorry that Mia is such a brat towards your girl! Some cats are very territorial, for some reasons. She is cute, though.

  13. Wow... Ann is very red indeed... but very pretty too. I love red in samplers too.
Poor Mia.... the boy child sure takes advantage of the kitty.
I'm going through tennis withdrawal too... it was a wonderful Wimbledon.

  14. Ann looks great, Margaret! What is it with cats and boxes? They love them. I can't believe how big Mia is. I remember when you first published her picture, so little then. But still a beautiful girl.

Happy 4th to you and your family.

  16. Ann looks fantastic! Love love love the red.

That pic of Mia and the boy child is hysterical--Mia needs a thought bubble coming from her head in the pic that says, "HELP!". ;)

    Enjoy your 4th!

  19. You are one fast stitcher, and I have to agree that there is a lot of red in that sampler. But I love red!! And it looks wonderful.

Love your pin cushion doll too! I might have to keep my eyes out for one of those. Never can have enough of them, right?

    Happy 4th

  22. I think Mia likes that form of 'torture'. If she didn't like anything I'm sure she'd let you know!

Ann is coming along nicely. Now, with your talent and skills this must seem like going back to kindergarten, but a fun and bright one at that!

Love your pincushion collection. Because of you, I went and ordered one but much less in size & cost. Hope to get it soon, then I'll show it off!

    Happy 4th, Margaret!

  23. Love little Mia sleeping in the box, Margaret :)

Great progress on Ann Sandles, too--the reds are so pretty...

  24. Ann looks awesome. Love those reds. Love also the way you personalized it.
    Your pincushions are simply stunning.
Your poor daughter. Since she cannot change the cat to befriend her she might try to gain her respect at least. Arming herself with a water spray bottle might do wonders.

  25. Great progress on Ann! She is def. red but I love that about her! Sorry to hear Mia and the GC don't get along. I wonder if there is anything that can be done...how frustrating.

  29. Finally! I wasn't able to see any photos until now. Ann is looking really good - how the heck do you stitch so fast???? Good pic of Mia. Did your daughter not like Mia or cats in general that Mia is sensing, or maybe she's jealous because of your son? Not living at home, Mia may think she's intruding on her turf!! Crazy kitty.

  30. Mia looks adorable in that box. She's so cute!!! She does look resigned to the boy child's torture, lol. Wow, your sampler is really, REALLY red!!! Pretty though. So are your ORTs. I empty mine out every once in a while. Right now it's pretty blues and purples, from Bubbles. Hope you had a good day today, and glad you got to watch Wimbledon.

  33. I have a suggestion for girl child's problem with Mia. Next time she comes home, have a Feliway plug-in in her room. This helped de-stress my problem cat and turned my normal cat into a total lover. It's worth a try.

  34. I love it!!!! I want to do this one now for sure after seeing your gorgeous work!! I love the Nicole doll, I wondered who the lucky person was that got her!!!

  41. Love how your Ann Sandles is coming along! Gosh, somehow I've been missing your posts...I know that I was following your blog in my Blogger account, but haven't been getting any posts. Came over here to your blog to see what's going on...wasn't even listed, had to click on "follow" again. Isn't that weird? Very strange to me!
Anyway, glad you're still around and everything is OK. Cute Mia kitty, as always! Lovely stitching too :)

  43. Ann is looking fantastic. And your pincushions are awesome, thanks for sharing them. I think the only thing that will help with the Mia situation is time. They both need time to learn to know each other.

  47. So, you're halfway through already! Or probably done by this post!

It's so pretty. I love the reds.

Mia is so funny! It looks she doesn't even care that your BC has her upside down on her head. Miss Kitty loves boxes, too.
